  • I Punched A Child And I Liked It, I’d Do It Again

I punched a kid and I liked it

Yes you read the title right I did punch a kid and I didn’t just like it, I bloody loved it.

Ok maybe I should explain, I am the proud mum of 2 children Phoebe 12 and Max 8.

Phoebe is in year 8 at secondary school she is bright, kind and pretty.

Phoebe goes to school via public transport as we live 45 minutes away from the closest school.

Phoebe has been tormented and bullied on a daily basis by a 15-year-old called Joshua, he has spat at her, tripped her up, stole her phone and lots more.

I have spoken to the school at least twice a week for the last six months but as he is bullying her only on the bus and not on the school premises there was little they could do, I'[ve calle bus company but they say it’s not their job to watch kids on the bus.

I have tried speaking to his parents but they simply didn’t care.

Phoebe would come home in tears and beg to change schools or to let her cycle to school neither of which where feasible we live in the country side and other schools are even further away and it would take her hours to cycle and I don’t drive.

One week back after Christmas phoebe came home in bits she was inconsolable, once she had calmed down she explained that Joshua had got some boys to hold my baby girls arms behind her back and Joshua lifted up Phoebe’s top and mocked my daughters breasts.

I called the police in my eyes this was a sexual assault, the police questioned Joshua and gave him a slap on the wrist and told him not to it again.

No way was this little shit gonna get away with this, I phoned my work and told them I wouldn’t be in that day, I got on the bus with my daughter and as soon as Joshua stepped foot on the bus I lunged at him and gave a huge punch right on his smirking foul mouth, I sent him flying and told him if he touches my daughter again I would be taking it out on his parents as they deserved a smack as well.

I loved knocking the little shit into place and I honestly would do it again.

  • My Son Had To Learn To Wee Again After Hospital Blunder

I took my son to the ER at Pouder Valley Hospital because he had a tummy ache around 3am so once I get there doctors asked basic questions then decide to get some blood & urine test, the doctor tells me ” I figure because he’s 2 yrs old he won’t pee in a Cup I will just order in a catheter” so as a parent I trust he knows what’s right for my son … I allowed a couple of nurses to come in and do the catheter, they tell me before “it’s a super fast procedure” so as I hold my son down and another nurse.. they proceeded to insert the catheter I noticed they began to struggle and then they decide to switch nurses and 2 other nurse enter .. (now my son Is Completely awake & in pain) so then I noticed the first nurse was being trained to insert her first catheter in a child 😔 & nobody informed me of this so then the 2nd nurse also couldn’t put it in so they decide to keep try & force it in this is where I should have stopped everything but they kept telling me “Almost got it ” .

My son is fighting them then the 4th nurse comes in and finally forces it in and gets the urine and send me home with no information of how this could affect him as soon as I get home my son just starts crying in pain screaming not peeing running jumping I call the hospital I tell them the symptoms they Tell me this is normal … So after a few hours I decided he is not okay and this is NOT normal I take him to the same ER they see he’s in Excruciating Pain & do an ultrasound and see he has a lot of urine and say it’s now an emergency to take the urine out so AGAIN attempt to insert a catheter 3 other Fail attempts I’m crying and holding my son while he’s begging them to stop I ask them to give him something he should not be going thru this awake he’s in so much pain so then a nurse tries to do an IV and also fails at it!

Then they decide to inject morphine in his thigh as she pulls out the needle she cuts his leg with it! I’m beyond pissed then say we need a professional to perform this he needs to empty his bladder and they can’t do it .

As I arrive to the Children’s hospital they call a urologist he comes in and says because of the traumatic entry of the catheter they blocked his valves to prevent him to urinate on his own the urologist put my son down and with no problems got a catheter in so for 3 days my son could only pee with a catheter connected to a bag .. now my son is home but it took a while for him to get the hang of peeing on his own the first 2 days he could only pee in a tub with warm water.

The hospital that did this just sent me an apology letter . For you New parents Don’t be afraid to say No and to try less traumatic procedures, try first all simple less painful options ask questions I learned the hard way as a first time parent I’m not sharing this for likes or attention but to simply save another child from this common mistake we make as parents .

  • When You Leave Your “Baby” In the Car Alone

Zoe Jones took to Facebook to share her hilarious misunderstanding with the police and it had us creasing with laughter.

Jones said “Omfg!!! 😲 Just had a knock on the door and I opened it thinking it was the postman with my parcel I’ve been waiting for and to my surprise it was 4 police men andĀ a women!! šŸ‘®ā€ā™€ļø šŸ‘®ā€ā™‚ļø

They asked me how long I’d been home an if I could open my car for them šŸ¤” I shit myself and got my keys and opened the door for them. They then asked why I would leave a newborn baby in the car on its own so I explained my baby was 5 years old now an I had just dropped him to school with his 2 older sisters 😐 but then one of the officer reached in and pulled a baby car seat out and said this baby šŸ‘¶ I automatically laughed but the police woman didn’t find it funny and said that it was an offence to leave a baby unattended šŸ™ˆ I quickly reached into the car seat an unwrapped the ā€œbabyā€ out of its blanket to show them that it was tess’s (my daughter)Ā reborn that she had left in there šŸ˜‚šŸ™ˆ these kids will be the death of me ai šŸ¤£šŸ™ƒ”.

  • “I am unable to buy my daughter a cake of her own” Heartbreaking Gift

Every parent loves to celebrate their child’s birthday. It’s a day to remember the miracle that is your child, and looking back on how much they have grown, but also the love they continue to have for their child. Every parent loves to see their child’s eyes light up when they see the cake piled high with candles and watching them make their birthday wish.

For one family in Arizona, America, they had the most unexpected thing happen to them as they went to pick up their birthday cake for their precious Ā little girl, who was turning 11. When they went to pay for the cake, the check out assistantĀ told them the cake had already been paid for. The family was floored.

Then they saw the note that was included with their cake.

It said, “In honor of my daughter’s 10th birthday I have chosen your cake to pay for. Each year I do this random act of kindness because I am unable to buy my daughter a cake of her own. Today is her big double digit birthday. Please enjoy your day.”

The note was signed, “McKenna’s Mom.”

Kyle, the older brother, took to social media to thank the unknown stranger for this beautiful gift.

It’s reported that McKenna’s mom’s “touching and heartwrenching tradition began because of the MISS Foundation (A charity providing counseling, advocacy, research and education). She said the organization helped her to ‘work through her grief and be able to carry it differently.’ After joining the foundation, she began to perform random acts of kindness.”

The cake not only blessed the Arizona family financially, but also with a different perspective. “It did make it kind of a little bit extra special just to be appreciative of my younger sister and to really be thankful for what I have,” Kyle said.

  • Grieving mum warns others of the dangers of taking to the road

A grieving mum whose teenage son died after being thrown from a moped has warned of the dangers of taking to the roads on bikes that aren’t roadworthy.

Tina Richards’ son Kian Buckler was just 15 when, as a pillion passenger, he was catapulted from a 125cc scooter being ridden by his friend Brett Everitt following a collision with a car in Lunt Road, Bilston.

Neither boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the 29 November crash and, despite it being pitch black, West Midlands Police collision investigators discovered Everitt was riding the bike without headlights

Budding mechanic Kian was critically injured and tragically died two days later in hospital.

Everitt survived the collision and was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, and failing to provide a sample of blood for analysis.

And at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday (15 Jan) the 16-year-old, from Thompson Road in Oldbury was sentenced to five years’ detention in a youth offenders institute. He was also banned from driving for five-and-a-half years.

This is a tragic case in which two young lives have been ruined…it once again highlights the risks involved with young people riding motorcycles in a dangerous and reckless manner.

Everitt chose to do this without any regard for himself or other road users and ultimately caused the death of his friend Kian Buckler.

He will have to live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life and I would urge anyone who is tempted to get on a bike and ride it in such a way to think very hard about the potential consequences.

The driver of the car that collided with the scooter drove away from the scene but officers later found the Toyota Auris on a nearby driveway.

Checks on police systems revealed the 37-year-old was banned from driving until August 2020 and he was later jailed for eight weeks after admitting driving while disqualified, without insurance and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

However, he was deemed not to have been responsible for the crash.

Mum Tina Richards said her son Kian made a ā€œstupid decision” to get on the bike but said he would have steered clear had he appreciated its unsafe condition.

She said: ā€œKian always ensured he maintained his own bicycle properly and took great care of it. I know nobody made him get onto the back of that bike but he had no control over the way Brett rode it…and he would have avoided it had he realised its true condition.

ā€œLosing Kian has left a great big hole in my life, which will never be filled. I miss his attitude, I miss his smile, I miss his presence. I miss him asking me for a bowl of cereal every night, I miss waking him up for school every day, I miss seeing him play with his little sister.

I will never get to see him go to his school prom, get married, have children of his own. I won’t get to see him open his Christmas presents ever again. His two-year-old sister keeps asking where Kian is and it’s really difficult trying to explain he’s not coming back.”

The judge lifted all reporting restrictions on the case meaning media can report the offender’s name despite him being a juvenile.

  • Nurse chose to close the door to our room and not do anything, no doctor ever came

Jalena Gunther took to Facebook to tell others about the care her daughter received at The Stollery Children’s Hospital a 150 bed children’s hospital that opened in October 2001. It is a “hospital within a hospital,” being situated within the University of Alberta Hospital and co-located with Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Gunther said: I feel sick. The Stollery has failed my child. Emmy had open heart surgery 4 days ago. They hooked Emmys IV fluid up at 6pm last night. Emmy screamed in pain from 7pm till 4:45 am when she finally gave up and passed out. We asked for pain meds, we asked for a doctor at 8:45pm, and at 10pm we asked if the doctor was coming, we said we need something, this isn’t Emmy and isn’t ok.

The Nurse at the Stollery chose to close the door to our room and not do anything, no doctor ever came. Emmy was under close op care which requires the nurse to physically check her every 15 minutes. We were lucky if we seen the nurse 1-2 times an hour. Protocol requires IV’s to be checked every hour. Emmys was never checked. 3 different nurses came into Emmys room and all 3 missed it.

At shift change our new nurse came in to do her assessment around 8am. The nurse immediately found that’s Emmys IV went interstitial. She pulled it out immediately but the damage was severe. She is now in the OR having her hand cut open to relieve pressure, drain fluid and remove the dead skin.

Next week she will require another surgery to do a skin graft. This was 100% avoidable if the nurse did her job. Not only was protocol grossly neglected, there was zero empathy for a child crying and screaming in pain for hours. Her iv leaked into her hand for over 12 hours, causing extreme pain and severe damage. This is not ok. Since when did this become the world-class care the Stollery is known for?

  • If You Don’t RSVP To Parties You Are A Dick

If you don’t rsvp to parties you are a dick

We live in a time when we are often busy, many of us drop off our children and rush off to work or running around after the toddler at home, I myself never seem to get a break and am forever running around after everyone else.

So you collect your child from school after a hectic day and are handed a pile of school letters, leaflets and a party invite.

Now what you should do is open the invite check the date and see if you and your child are available and fill out the reply slip or send a simple text to the worried party organising mum to let her know if your child will be able to attend.

Personally I feel you should attend as many of these parties as possible, this child is hoping his or her friends will make their birthday special and would be devastated if no one attended and it’s been on social media and in the tabloids that a number of children have had the heart-break of no one turning up, can you imagine if that were your child and how that would make them feel.

If for whatever reason you are unable to attend let them know as soon as you can, many parties require a deposit for each child invited, so if your son or daughter can’t go they may be able to fill the spot and invite another child.

There is nothing worse than planning a party say at a zoo or play centre and having to pay for a child who doesn’t attend.

I mean come on folks we live on our phones, how long does it really take to send a text, if you ignore the invite or just bin it and don’t rsvp then you my dear are a dick!

  • Child Maintenance Service Is It Failing

Child Maintenance Service Is It Failing

The child support agency (csa) has nearly completely changed to the child maintenance service (cms).

There was promises of huge changes and improvements with this service, but many parents feel nothing has improved and they are still very muchĀ out-of-pocket.

    One mum said

“Really starting to give up 😢why are they letting these dads not face there responsibilities it’s so wrong and not fair on us mums!😠”

Another mum took to social media to rant about the injustice of the whole system and how the non-resident parent can lie and get away with it.

“Got a letter in the post today. Yearly review. Kids so-called dad has finally declared an income to HMRC Ā£32.40 a week. WOW I mean WOW. What’s that like just over 4hrs a week at minimum wage he is getting away with declaring? He is self-employed and earning way more than that but can still buck the system. Let’s see if January 18th he makes the 1st payment I’m guessing I will never see a penny in my life from him”

The child maintenance service can work if the non-resident parent is employer or honest, if he is employed the service can take money directly from his wages or bank account.

Mums and dads who are self-employed are howeverĀ fiddling the system and claiming they earn less than they do.

One mum we spoke to said her ex is a self-employed taxi driver the mum knows he works a minimum of 60 hours a week but he claims he only earns £65.60 a week, which is impossible and is even more infuriating when he has had a full sleeve tattoo done, been on three holidays last year and manages to go out drinking at least 4 times a month, yet she only receives £7 a week in payments for two children and cms takes a percentage of that for themselves.

Not only are they dodging their financial parental responsibilities but screwing over the tax man, little seems to be done about this though and parents are left feeling frustrated and helpless.

When parents have contacted the cms they are told there is nothing they can do their ends and the parent is to prove that their ex is earning more, many people have complained about the child maintenance service and feel that many of the employees are incompetent and lack the resources to actually deal with their claim.

Have you had a bad experience with the csa or cms? We would love to hear from you

  • Yes I Have A Favourite Child, I Am Not Ashamed

Yes I have a favourite child I am not ashamed to say it although I do not make it obvious to my children or the outside world.

I am the proud mother of two boys a sensitive kind six-year-oldĀ named OscarĀ and a cheeky, funny ten-year old called Charlie who has the conditionĀ cystic fibrosis .

I love Charlie more than Oscar.

You see my ten-year old needs me much more, I’ve sat up with him through long cold nights, I’ve comforted him, I watched him struggle to breathe and nearly lost him countless times from a variety of infections, I,ve held him and cried with him, I can do little too take away his painĀ  tears.

Charlie is my favourite for he is the one who needs my love the most, he doesn’t have many friends as he’s often off school Ill with lung infections or shortness of breathe, I feel immense guilt for giving him this condition, and would give anything to take it away, as a mother you want to help your child but somethings you just cant help.

My youngest son wouldn’t know that I love his brother more, and I guess most parents in some way favour one child over the other although few would admit it.

So yes I have a favourite child and I feel absolutely no guilt for the way my heart feels, I love both my children but I’m closer to one than the other, why is it such a taboo subject to say you have a favourite child?

It is human nature to be closer to somethings more than another, this is why we have favourite pets, a best friend, a parent you are closer to, a favourite outfit so why not a favourite child.
