  • Mama I Love You, Could You Wake Up For A Min

    Dear mama,

Could you wake up for a minute? I know it’s hard for you to open your eyes – we haven’t slept a lot yet tonight. But mama, I kinda need you right now. You see, the thing is, I feel a bit lonely at the moment. I’m laying here in my crib and I’m somewhat cold.

I didn’t mean to cry so I’m sorry I did. I’ve been trying to get your attention by making some noises for a while now but you were in such a deep sleep, you couldn’t hear me. I don’t know how else to get your attention. During the day, I see and hear you all make noises and I see you respond well to each other. You talk to me like that too. And I try very hard but I don’t know how to do that yet. So I cry so you’d listen to me.

Mama, I’m sorry for crying. Like I said, I feel a bit lonely. I just spent nine months inside your belly where I’ve always felt safe. It’s a bit scary to me to be in such a big bed all by myself. I miss your heartbeat, the rushing of your blood, the warmth and the food.I miss your breathing and your hands you put over me to protect me when I still was inside your belly.

So mama, would you please listen to me? I’m calling for you in the only way I’m able to. I feel really alone. I need your warmth and your peace for a moment. I need to know for sure you’re still here. So can I come lay with you for a little while to feel your warmth?

Some cuddles first. Mama, this feels so nice. When I feel you holding me while you gently rock me and when I can smell and feel you, I feel so safe. I can feel your hand on my back and my ear is placed just right on your heart. Mom, this is home to me. Do you remember back when we were always together? I always felt like this back then. Sometimes I miss that time. It was so nice to be close to you.

I hear you softly whisper into my ear “Everything is okay little one, everything is fine”. Your voice is so soft and familiar. You smell good mom. A bit like me and a bit like you.

Mama, will you hold me just a little longer? I’m really tired and I feel so relaxed in your arms. It almost feels like before. I’m going to close my eyes for a little while, okay? Can I please stay with you here a little longer to enjoy your love and your presence?

And can I drink some more? Mama, since we’re laying like this anyway…I’d like to ask you something. I know, it sounds pretty sad because I can’t talk like you can yet so I’m sorry for crying again. But mama, can I please drink some more? My throat is dry and my tummy is empty and since we’re here anyway…maybe I can have a few more sips? Your milk tastes delicious and is so warm and familiar.

Thanks mom, that’s exactly what I needed. I was really really thirsty. Your finger on my cheek feels great by the way. And you’re smiling at me. Nothing makes me happier than seeing your smile and feeling your presence. I’ll close my eyes again, okay? Please don’t put me away straight away, I really enjoy falling asleep here. This feels really good. Can I stay with you for another hour or so?

My tummy hurts. What is that?! Mama! Can you feel this? Mom? My tummy hurts so bad. What is happening? Please help me mama, I don’t know what’s happening. I’ve never felt anything like this.

Thank you for rubbing my belly mom. It’s late and everyone is asleep. I’m so happy you’re here for me. I don’t know what I’d do without you mama. My tummy already hurts less and when you hold me like that…I feel pretty tired. Maybe I’ll close my eyes again. Please hold me a little longer?

Can I have more cuddles? You won’t believe this mama! I’m a bit scared. I just woke up and I didn’t know where I was for a second. It was all dark and a little cold again. I know you’re tired mama. But I really missed you, can I please be with you again for a while?

Mama, I can see that you’re tired. There are tears in your eyes and every now and then a tear rolls down your cheek. I’m sorry mama but I feel really strange in this new world. I miss home. I miss always being close to you.

Sometimes I feel a tear fall on my head while you gently rock me. You’re singing me a song so that I can go back to sleep. You softly dry the tears that fell on my head with your hand. That feels nice mom, do that again?

I fall asleep on your chest. You feel so soft, so familiar. There’s nowhere I sleep better than here. My legs are pulled up, just like they were back when I still lived with you. I can hear your heartbeat again and I move along with your breathing.

I will learn soon. Mama, you’re the best place to be. I’m so glad I get to come to you over and over again. I don’t like being unable to just ask either but I’m really happy you listen to me when I call for you.

Soon, I’ll be able to be there for you. Or for my brothers or sisters. Or for my friends in school. You’re teaching me how to take care of someone. You’re teaching me that you listen, even when I can’t ask. You’re teaching me I’m safe, even when sometimes it feels like I’m not. You’re teaching me that you love me, even when you’re very tired. Thank you.

    And mama, I love you.

  • Common Household Product Burnt My Babies Skin

Lisa Cresswells little boy was hurt recently and is desperate to make others aware of the potential danger.

Cresswell said “For anyone that uses Febreze fabric freshener , it’s supposed to be dermatology tested and suppose to be ok to use on anything and not cause problems. Well I sprayed it on my sons pillow to freshen it up and he woke up like this red raw skin on back, shoulders and neck and ear. Day after his skin started to peel and be infected .

Took him doctors n they said it’s a bad reaction to the chemicals and it’s caused a 2nd degree chemical burn, dermatitis and an infection. Don’t believe everything you read on the bottles as clearly that isn’t always the case as u can see. I’ve contacted the company and am waiting on a reply if they think they are getting away with this when their product which is supposed to be safe to use they got another thing coming defo not letting this go”.

  • Brave Girl Speaks Out About Her Abuse At The Hands Of Her Dad

Brave Shannon Clifton (pictured) today tells for the first time of her eight years of vile sexual abuse and beatings at the hands of her paedophile father (pictured)

Now 18, she waves her anonymity to reveal the monster first raped her on their living room floor at the age of six.

And after she became pregnant again at 13, twisted Clifton Googled ways to make her miscarry, forcing her into dangerous exercise routines.

When she was nine months’ pregnant, a suspicious school nurse asked her to take a pregnancy test.

Terrified Shannon refused, but her father feared his sickening crimes were about to be exposed and forced her to join him on the run, sparking a six-day police manhunt.

Two days after they were found Shannon gave birth to a baby that was both her son – and her brother.

Clifton, 36, got a minimum 15 years life sentence for rape at Derby Crown Court in 2015.

Neither he nor his daughter could be named – but the case hit the headlines as tragic, brainwashed Shannon screamed in court: “I love you Dad, I miss you.”

Three years on, having escaped her hell at Clifton’s hands, her feelings are much more complicated. Now she is speaking out to persuade other abused children to seek help.

“He stole my life,” she says. “He turned it into a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from – raping and beating me for years. I was frightened and in pain every day.

“I hate my dad now, but I will always miss him because he was the only person I had throughout my whole childhood.”

Until Shannon was five, her family life was fairly normal – “birthday parties with a bouncy castle, fun trips out” with her siblings.

That all changed after her parents split and she went to live with her father.

The court heard how cunning binman Clifton had “poisoned her” against her mother.

“I was always my dad’s favourite, his little princess,” says Shannon.

“If my mum ever shouted at me, he’d tell her, ‘Don’t speak to my Shannon like that’. He was so protective. We were inseparable.”

So she went to live with him alone, aged five. “He changed quickly,” she says.

“He’d scream if I did something he didn’t like, then it was a slap around the head. Then he started punching me. Over the years, he burnt me with an iron, attacked me with a hammer, stabbed me and split my head open.”

Clifton turned her against the rest of the family until she stopped seeing them.

And, then, when she was six years old and isolated from anyone who might help her, the worst torture began.

“He got me up in the night and made me lie on the floor in my nightie,” she says. “Then he lay on top of me and just did it. I felt the worst pain imaginable. I was screaming for him to stop, but he wouldn’t.

“Afterwards I lay there bleeding. I was sobbing so much I could barely breathe.”

The rapes became regular – and the little girl bravely fought back in vain.

“He would always say sorry afterwards,” says Shannon. “When he’d finished, I’d play with my toys to distract myself.

“He said it was something all dads did to daughters, but I had to keep it secret. He’d hug me and promise it would never happen again.

But it always did. Yet I still loved him. He was all I had.”

The attacks gathered pace, up to four times a day. “He would even make me have sex with him in the woods,” says Shannon.

“He’d film it and once made me watch it. I was crying – it was so horrible.”

At 11, Shannon fell pregnant. Confused and frightened, she hid it the best she could until blurting it out to him at 28 weeks.

“I got beat up really bad and knocked out. I don’t recall it that clearly,” says Shannon. “But I remember one minute I had a baby inside me and the next there was blood everywhere and the baby was gone.”

When she fell pregnant again at 13, Clifton again tried to make Shannon miscarry – even looking up ways online. When it didn’t work, Shannon claims he came up with a plan to kill her baby after birth.

Wiping away tears, she says: “That was the most evil thing he ever did or said. He went into detail – I can’t talk about it.”

With her growing bump becoming hard to hide, Shannon was called in by the school nurse and asked to take a pregnancy test. She refused and fled. That night, police swooped on their flat.

“As soon as he saw them, Dad told me to climb over the fence at the back and run across the fields. He followed.”

They spent six nights sleeping rough as police appealed for sightings. Shannon recalls: “It was October. I was freezing, exhausted and frightened. We moved around all the time. I had pains, but kept telling myself, ‘You can’t go into labour yet, you need to be found first’.”

When Clifton broke cover to take Shannon into Derby, police cornered him.

“We tried to run, but a police car swung round in the street and dad was arrested,” says Shannon. Alone for the first time in years, she gave birth to her baby boy in hospital two days later.

She says: “I loved him instantly. I thought, ‘He is my life now.’ But he was my brother. It was so confusing.”

She kept the tot until a week before his first birthday when, alone and living in care, Shannon bravely decided to give him up for adoption. I couldn’t give him everything he needed,” she says. “I wanted him to grow up with a nice family, one I never had. I’ll always be his mum.”

After a DNA test proved Clifton was the boy’s father he admitted rape – but said his crimes began when Shannon was 10.

Astonishingly, she hasn’t completely retracted that courtroom vow of love. “I’m getting better, but there’ll always be some kind of love for my dad,” she says.

Despite that, her biggest fear is that one day he will kill her. “I worry about it,” she says. He has a lifetime restraining order, but will that matter? He’ has nothing to lose.”

Meanwhile, her ordeal has left her with PTSD in the form of frightening flashbacks. She attempted suicide at 16 – but with the help of a kind foster family, Shannon finally began to rebuild her life.

Now she is renting her own flat and will start a criminal psychology degree in September, and hopes that will help her understand some of her father’s motives.

She says: “I’ll never know exactly why my dad did what he did, but my aim is to help other abuse victims who read this – so they can find the help they need.”

  • Ghost Child Playing With My Children

I thought I’d share another epic parenting fail with you all. I’m a mother of 7 children so these unfortunate events are part of daily life.

A few months ago I witnessed my 5yr old little girl talking to herself. Or at least I thought she was. I continued to watch her, and quickly realised she must have an imaginary friend. Aww bless her 😍

The days go on and one tea time, I decided to up my parenting game, and offer to cook her imaginary friend a portion of spag bol too. Why not?

“Oh mummy don’t be silly, she’s dead! She can’t eat food!”

Holy shit on a cracker….She’s fucking what now?! (Didn’t actually say that part out loud)

“Thanks for offering though mum 😊😊😊”

Fuck. Fuckety fuck fuck. Do we move house? Call a priest or just be done with it and burn the place down!. I’m equipped for a lot of childlike circumstances but the adoption of fucking Casper. absolutely not.

After I calm down, I ask my daughter some questions to try find out a little bit more about our new addition.

With confidence and zero fear, she proceeds to tell me her friend is the same age as her. She’s a little black girl. She loves summer. She’s allowed to play during the day but at night-time she has to go home. My daughter doesnt know her name so calls her Sally. (Ok… So at least I know we can sleep easy 🙄)

For weeks I watch my darling little psycho play with her dead friend. Sometimes my other children join in too. They can all see her which is even more terrifying. They chase each other, giggle and Love to play hide and seek.

Then one day I noticed that her “friend” wasn’t around as much.

    Probing… I ask her where she’s gone.

“Oh she’s not around today cos you have the blinds shut”

Hmmmm. Thinking of all the last few months events I have a sudden brain wave and open the blinds.

“Mummy mummy she’s here she’s here!”

Omfg. I had spent weeks and weeks googling spirits. I watched hours of the ghost whisperer, looking up priests and dreaming about Ghost busters! For what?!….

    Sally the fucking SHADOW! 😱

  • Hilarious Holiday Complaints Which Will Make You Laugh

THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY “THOMAS COOK VACATIONS” FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:

    1. “They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax.”

    2. “On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”

    3. “We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”

    4. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price.”

    5. “The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room.”

    6. “We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow.”

    7. “It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallartato close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’ time — this should be banned.”

    8. “No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared.”

    9. “Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers.”

    10. “I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”

    11. “The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun.”

    12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”

    13. “I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller.”

    14. “The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort.’ We’re trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service.”

    15. “When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners.”

    16. “We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning.”

    17. “It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel.”

    18. “I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes.”

    19. “My fiancĂŠe and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”

  • Why Is There A Stigma About Working In McDonalds

    I don’t ever rant/post work-related material, however…

As a McDonald’s employee, one would expect to go through the regular stresses of dealing with the public. Today, five minutes into my shift, a woman calls me and begins to swear and scream at me because her order was messed up, two days ago (when the power had gone out and everyone was coming for supper). She asked me If I had put my “listening ears on” this morning, and if she were to come through this morning would she receive a f***ed up order

or any attitude, and I did my best to be as polite as I could, and welcomed her to come through the drive-thru once more.

She did come through. I didn’t know it was her until I was fronted with “what part of add McChicken sauce do you not f***ing understand?” She began to belittle my team, calling one of them a 12-year-old for wearing braces. I looked at both of her sandwiches, and they were, in fact, made correctly. This did not go well with her, and she told me that I was an idiot, and “good luck working at McDonald’s for the rest of your life”.

I would like to get something straight here- the fact that she was taking out her anger on some teenagers working part-time was not the issue, this (unfortunately) happens daily. But there is a serious stigma involved with working at a fast food restaurant such as McDonald’s. McDonald’s is an incredibly difficult job, that doesn’t allow for “idiots” to excel or move up the ladder. Even if my plan WAS to work at McDonald’s for the rest of my life, I would WELCOME that challenge. When I come home from work, I am ALWAYS tired, and ALWAYS feel the reward of pushing myself to work with a team. I have gained more character through my years working at McDonald’s than any other opportunity in my life, and though you may belittle me when we get your order wrong (even though it was right this time ;p), you are only helping me become stronger. I am a proud McDonald’s worker.

(look at all those held orders)

Dec 18 Addition: Thank you so much for the respect and support! I never expected such a beautiful response! To those in the comments saying negative things about working at McDonald’s, you are living proof of the stigma associated with working here that I had previously mentioned. Thanks all!

  • You Can Never Be Too Overprotective When It Comes To Your Baby

So I haven’t shared this bc….i just haven’t but parents and if your thinking about having a child read and it’s lengthy but here is our story ….so after Weston got home a couple of days passed and on Christmas his skin (full body) turned really red all of a sudden. He looked like he had a sun burn. After notifying the pediatrician we were told to not take him to the ER bc the flu was huge right now and unless he had fever just bring him in the next morning, so that’s what we did.

The pediatrician told us his red blood cells were high (this is common) and he had yeast infection diaper rash and we were given a cream and sent home. The next day his “diaper rash” turned into blisters. After telling the pediatrician office this, they said “use the cream 4 times instead of just 2” so we did just that. On Friday his “diaper rash” was horrible, he had about 7 blisters around his diaper area and inner thigh and his face was extremely chapped and had started getting a rash and swollen. I decided to google “yeast infection diaper rash” and Weston’s looked nothing like this. We called the pediatrician and left a voicemail detailing this.

Within an hour they called me back and said “go to Vandy ER immediately”. After we got there his rash got much worse. After having his blood drawn, a catheter for a urine sample, a stool sample, a spinal tap, and fluid drawn from the blisters. Weston was diagnosed with “scalded skin syndrome” which is also a horrible staph infection.

Our baby was in intense pain since bringing him home from the hospital and we had no clue. We were told today that this was caused by staph most commonly from the nose of an adult. Meaning even though we told people “don’t kiss him” people still did. I’m writing this to tell all parents don’t be afraid to tell people “don’t kiss my baby”. Don’t be afraid to tell people “no you can’t hold him”. Watch people closely. Who cares if people make fun of you for how you parent bc we could be burying Weston it was so bad.

Luckily we caught it early enough and he is a fighter and we will probably come home today or tomorrow, some babies aren’t that lucky. I’m showing these pics so that people can see just why some of us are “too overprotective”. One pic is the day before and the other is the next day when we arrived at the hospital, and the last is today. Again don’t be afraid to be the “mean person” bc it literally could be life or death.

  • 20 Things I Learnt As A Parent

I’m sure all of us can relate to most or all of these

    20 THINGS I LEARNT AS A PARENT!

    1. People who say you should ‘enjoy every single moment of parenthood’ are at best, unrealistic and at worst, morons.

    2. It’s easy to get to midday and realise you’ve not stopped since 6am but have achieved a grand total of fuck all.

    3. I don’t care how strong you think you are, nobody is stronger than a baby that doesn’t want to get dressed.

    4. It’s impossible to tidy the house. You can move things around and put them in different rooms but the house will remain a shithole.

    5. And there’s more chance of visiting Narnia than seeing the bottom of your laundry basket.

    6. People without kids who say they’re exhausted can kiss my tired, fat arse.

    7. In fact some days your energy levels resemble those of a diabetic sloth that’s cutting out caffeine for Lent.

    8. I told my childless friend I’d had an ‘amazing lie in till 7.30am’ and he pissed himself laughing. I was deadly serious.

    9. I now time my morning routine by CBeebies theme tunes. If I’m not running the shower by the time Octonauts is starting, I’m fucked.

    10. Phase 2 of parenthood is when an episode of a kids show comes on and you think, “Ah fuckin hell, I’ve seen this one.”

    11. And whoever let Postman Pat fly a frigging plane this week should be shot in the face.

    12. I love my kids more than anything in the world.

    13. But I’d love them even more if they’d nap properly.

    14. Getting your baby to nap is like a game of Snakes and Ladders. One wrong move and you’re back to the beginning.

    15. When remarking “they’ve gone down well tonight” it’s best to check you’ve turned the baby monitor on first.

    16. Often you’ll panic that there’s something seriously wrong with your baby but then realise they’re just having a massive shite.

    17. Some nappy changes are like Brexit – tonnes of build up, nobody really knows what’s going on and a horrible mess to clean up afterwards.

    18. Paying ÂŁ40 a day for nursery when your kid is too ill to go because of a bug they caught at nursery smarts like a kick in the knackers.

    19. Parenthood is a crafty bastard – the second you master something it changes the game so you’re shit at it again.

    20. When your child laughs the world makes sense.

  • Bird Box Movie You Are Missing The Point

    ***WARNING (Bird Box Spoilers)

Y’all are totally missing the underlying message of this film!

The monster makes you commit suicide and hear voices. Notice that people labeled as “mentally ill” are immune to the monster and they want everyone else to see it. THEY WANT EVERYONE ELSE TO SEE WHAT ITS LIKE TO WANT TO TAKE YOUR OWN LIFE AND HEAR VOICES IN YOUR HEAD. The monster is suicide and mental illness personified. Throughout the film you slowly watch people unravel and fall victim to their own fear, paranoia and violent behavior, all symptoms of mental illness. This forces the audience to ask “Now who’s crazy?”. Without any in-depth information about the “monster”, all the characters are figuratively and literally left blind.

Why can no one see the “monster”? Because suicide and mental illness don’t have a face. It can affect anybody. In the scene in the kitchen with Sandra Bullock (Malorie), and Trevante Rhodes (Tom), Malorie says something to the effect of “My sister would have never killed herself. She wasn’t like that”. Today we have those instances of people who were clearly exemplifying suicidal tendencies before they took their own lives, but the stigma surrounding suicide and mental illness often causes people to hide those feelings rather than talk about them; we’ve all seen those new stories and interviews were people who were close to a suicide victim say things like “She never seemed like she’d do something like that” or “everything seemed fine”.

The scene where Danielle’s McDonald’s character (Olympia), asks Malorie to take care of her child if anything happens to her is also very telling. Olympia speaks about feeling like a burden because she was spoiled her whole life and “all that love made [her] soft” while Malorie proclaims she was “raised by wolves”. Both women are PREGNANT, and despite their different backgrounds are at the mercy of the same invisible force. I think this is a commentary on gestational and postpartum depression.

Almost all of the characters are dealing with grief to some degree, especially Malorie and John Malcovich’s character (Douglas). They both watch their loved ones commit suicide. This shows that suicide doesn’t just affect the victim, but also the people around them.

In the end we see that the only way for Malorie and her kids to survive is by USING THEIR VOICES.

Now go rewatch the movie and stop looking at things at face value. That kind of observation is what the film is trying to get you to stop doing. It’s so much deeper than that.
