Spread The Word Stop Avoiding Smear Tests
**STOP AVOIDING SMEAR TESTS**
This superwoman is my baby sis, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer at just 28
Today she kicked arse but at a cost. She had to undergo a full hysterectomy and her fight isn’t over just yet…there’s still a big chance she will need radiotherapy.
She only missed 1 smear test….just bloody 1. She’s so lucky to have been blessed with a daughter but the cancer has taken her chance to ever carry another baby.
She’s one of the lucky ones though so many women put it off until it’s too late.
I never thought I would be sat writing a status like this about someone so close to home.
A smear test literally takes a few minutes stop putting it off.
She’s letting us post this because she wants to raise awareness that cancer doesn’t care who u are….how old u are, if u don’t keep up with your regular checks your putting yourself at risk.
I sit with tears in my eyes writing this after visiting her tonight. I’m so so proud of her. She has handled this so amazingly. She really is my beautiful superwoman!! đ spread the message

Things Post Baby That No One Talks About
T H I N G S P O S T B A B Y
After just turning 22 when I had my first baby I had no idea about what women go through “after birth” but I wish someone would have told me what happens when you’ve just had a human… so without being to descriptive I am happy to help a sister out + say what no one else is willing to say
â˘Maternity Pads (aka surf boards) are totally uncomfortable but totally necessary because after those nine months that you didn’t have a period (which at the time was brilliant) its like someone finally opened the flood gates, especially in those first few postpartum days.
â˘downstairs will be sore especially if you tore or had an episiotomy from one end to the other like yours truly but ask for ice (yes ice downstairs) trust me it makes it bearable until it is bearable!!!
⢠The after pains. When your stretched uterus starts to shrink down. It’s Pain. Who knew? I didn’t & it wasn’t until I had my second that I became aware of these bad boys + for me it got worse with each baby.
⢠Your first wee. OMG. You will feel scared as shi% but it’s not as scary as the first poo + don’t worry your bits will still be able to do its job.
⢠The first poo. The nurses will ask if you have had a bowel movement + you will feel the pressure maybe even get stage fright but mostly I mean you will be so scared but don’t panic. You are not having another baby. It just feels that way. But just remember you pushed out a human and the prospect of pushing out what’s in the back bit won’t be quite so daunting. Your bum is not falling out. Or it might be. If you have piles. Which you probably do… while on the topic of poo it could be the opposite, constipation after birth, it really happens + chances are it will happen to you but don’t be embarrassed happens to most women for many reasons but Try to eat high-fibre foods, especially fruit + drink plenty of fluids
⢠If you have a c-section + that first time you have to stand up, It’s like your insides are going to feel like they are going to fall out. That first time standing can be brutal & even leave you feeling nauseous but I promise it does get better and your insides won’t fall out!!!.
Oh + just a side note if you don’t have high underwear (aka granny undies) get some so you have them higher than your scar!!!
â˘Your first shower will be like heaven. You will feel human again. Normal again. I know this sounds slightly dramatic but it’s the truth!
⢠You will say the words ” Breast is Best” and be asked a billion time “Are you breastfeeding?” but just remember “fed is best” + do what makes you feel comfortable, what’s best for you & your baby.
⢠The hospital food sucks. Yep that’s it. No more of a description needed then that.
⢠Your once hard round beautiful belly will now more than likely resembles more a balloon that’s slowly deflating and you will be left feeling like your still 5 months pregnant.
* Day 2 or 3 (well thatâs when it was for me) your hormones will be raging, your emotions will be at an all time high & you will just cry, cry because your happy, cry because your overwhelmed, cry because you feel guilty, because youâre missing your other babies at home… but you will settle & if you donât then please speak to your health care professional.
So beautiful Mumma’s our parting words are don’t stress and worry, you’re not going to know everything and every baby is different also note to self; There is no such thing as normal, and there is no such thing as “the right way”. You are your baby’s normal. You are your baby’s right way. They aren’t judging you. They are completely reliant on you and being responsible for another human being is not a piece of cake. It’s a piece of ‘oh my god I can’t do this’. You can. And everyday will get easier. You will find your groove. Breath mummy. You just grew and pushed out. So be gentle with yourself.

Stop The James Bulger Film And Oscar Nomination
The parents of James Bulger, the two-year-old boy murdered in Liverpool in 1993, have criticised the makers of a short film about the case, which has been shortlisted for an Oscar nomination
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Bulgerâs father Ralph said that the film maker had failed to contact him. âNot once has the maker of this film contacted me or any of Jamesâs family about this film ⌠It has been 26 years since my son was taken and murdered and so I have seen many documentaries and news stories about him. But I have never been so cut up and offended by something that shows so little compassion to James and his family.
Thompson and Venables were both released in 2001 and given new identities. Venables was returned to prison in 2010 over child pornography offences; after being released in 2013, he pleaded guilty to child pornography offences in 2018, and is currently imprisoned.
The Oscar nominations will be announced on 22 January
This petition is to stop James Bulger movie about his murders from being shown and the Oscar nomination taken away. It is a heartless thing to do, there was no discussion to James family about this movie being made and given the ok to go ahead. If any movie is being made that involves real life stories should always check with the victims families before they start filming and should be law. Victims and their families must come first

Brave Girl Loses Her Fight To Cancer But Her Name Will Live On
Little Sophie Grace Taylor 4 years old lost her brave fight to Osteosarcoma cancer.
Her parents want to raise awareness and let her name live on.
Today at 1.47am I took my last breath, laying in Mummy and Daddy’s arms, cuddling Olaf and watching Toy Story. I peacefully slipped into my forever sleep, just how I would have wanted.
Mummy and Daddy will ensure my life and name goes on and wrote this poem for me…..
My wings arrived and I decided it is time that I should go
But before I fly and leave you here there are things that you should know.
Treasure every moment, every laugh, and hug and kiss
For you never know when life, may suddenly end up like this.
I taught you valuable lessons on how to cope with misery and pain
So no matter what you go through, remember you can always smile again
It may not be today, tomorrow, or this week
But never give up on living while there’s colour in your cheek.
Mummy and Daddy will mourn forever, but their job is crystal clear.
To make my name last forever
“And we will do this for you my dear”
Sleep well and rest a while, for now it’s only goodbye
We’ll see you again, embrace and cuddle, and understand that you must fly
It is difficult to end this and say a final piece
So how about we love you Sophie and hope you are at peace xx

When A Mother Says Shes’s Tired That’s All She Meant
When a mother says she’s tired, that’s all she meant!
She did not say she wants to drop her child and forget that he or she exists.
When a mother says she wanted some time alone, just her, that’s all she meant!
She didn’t say she’s sorry to be a mother and that motherhood was a mistake in her life.
When a mother says she needs help to get things done, that’s exactly what she meant!
She is not saying that she is incapable.
When a mother makes noodles for dinner, it does not mean she does noodles every day of the week and that her son/daughter is a child who does not know vegetables and meats.
When you arrive at a mother’s house and face disorganization, it doesn’t mean that every day that house is disorganized.
When a mother says she’d love to go out with her friends, that’s all she meant! She doesn’t want to go back to being “Single / not a mother” and like it as if she had no responsibility.
When a mother says she’s worried and afraid, that’s what she meant! She didn’t say she’s going to falter, and much less she’s a coward.
When you listen to a mother screaming, it doesn’t mean she just screams, probably she has spoken 300 times with normal voice tone.
When you see a nervous mother, on the edge of madness, doesn’t mean every day she’s in that situation.
There is a whole context, a whole situation.
Do not invent untruths to judge someone, let alone a woman who every day, at all times, gives up her own life to live the life of another being that she knows is much more important than her.
In the world there is no human being able to give up and donate as much as a mother!
And they deserve a lot of understanding and fewer trials. âď¸đ

I’m The Lady With The Baby In Heaven
Iâm the lady with the baby in heaven
I am the lady whose baby died. One day my baby was living and the next day she was gone. That is what happened. It doesnât offend me if you acknowledge this. Itâs actually nice someone takes an interest.
It offends me when you donât.
You see, I know that my baby died. I will not forget this. So, when you whisper about it like itâs a secret that feels shameful. It makes me feel like youâre embarrassed for me. Iâm not embarrassed about my baby and Iâm not embarrassed that she died. Iâm sad and heartbroken that she died. Itâs different.
I am allowed to be sad that my baby died. Please stop trying to cheer me up. When you respond by trying to cheer me up, it feels dismissive. Being supportive does not mean making me happy, it means sticking around even when Iâm not. When you honor my emotions, you honor my child.
When I say my daughter’s name and you not-so-subtly change the subject, you are not doing so to âprotect me.â You are avoiding the subject of my child because you are uncomfortable. If you were talking about your own loved one and I stopped meeting your gaze or frantically switched topics, you would be upset with me. Same.
My baby is not an awkward topic. She is a person. She is my daughter. I am not awkward about that, so why are you?
Please understand, I believe that when you do these things it is with the best intentions, but I need you to know that your intentions have a painful impact. So, while you get to stroll away with your good intentions, I am left with the hurtful impact you left behind.
I may be the lady whose baby died but you can still talk to me like you did when I was the lady who was going to have a baby. You can still say her name and let me know that you care about her. You can still ask me how Iâm doing and wait around to hear my answer.
Please donât ignore my truth, especially when I am so strongly committed to sharing it. I have not made my babyâs death a secret, so I donât need your help in hiding hee. Thatâs where the struggle comes from. I have to keep talking about her and saying her name because she canât. I canât stop because then she will disappear.
I know you want to change what happened to me. But, you canât. I will always be the lady whose baby died. I will always be the woman who is living without her child. I am okay talking about that. Are you?

Dating Single Mums Is Hard But Give It A Go
Dating a single mum is hard, she will often have to cancel dates last-minute, be it because her child is ill or her babysitter has let her down or sometimes he simpy may not have the energy to go out.
Her texts may be short and sometimes she will not reply at all.
She will never be able to put you first, her child is her priority, she doesn’t even put herself first.
She will often be tired, or talk non stop about everything and anything because sometimes you are the only adult she has seen or days.
She doesn’t always make an effort with her appearance or have random stains on her clothes.
On a date she will regularly look at her phone to check on her child with the sitter, you will not get her undivided attention.
So why on earth would anyone date a single mum, why do I bother with this woman who cannot put me first?
Well a woman who will go without to provide for someone is a warrior, a woman who will play with her child all day and comfort her crying child has so much love to give.
I want a woman who will multitask, a woman who doesn’t think she is special but really she is, a woman who I can help, a woman I can respect.
Thank you single mummy’s for stepping up when the dads step down, you my dear are stronger and braver than you give yourself credit for.

The Great Debate On Parent Parking Cleared Up
This debate was kicked off again today.. so okay, ONE. MORE. TIME. FOR. THE. PEOPLE. AT. THE. BACK…
Parent and child spaces donât exist because parents are entitled/lazy. They exist so a parent can get their kid out of their car safely, without reducing the car next to them to scrap.
And they are placed near the store because in, a civilised society, most of us agree that itâs a good thing to reduce the risk of children running around the modern busy car park like its fucking Chessington World Of Adventures.
I realise for some this is complicated..
â â â â â â â â â
1. “Rubbish, we didn’t have parent and baby spaces back in my day… “
â â â â â â â â â
…This is an odd point of view given that, that argument can also be made for antibiotics, women’s voting rights, the combustion engine, indoor plumbing, space travel, Luther, opposable thumbs, monster munch and shoes.
â â â â â â â â â
Oh yeah, and the internet.. a place where you can share your shit opinion and have it demolished by anyone whose brain receives oxygen.
â â â â â â â â â
2. “But, in my day, we managed..”
…I’m sure you did, when cars were fewer, cars were smaller, spaces were larger, and you could get a bottle of ginger beer and a caramac and still have half a crown left to buy some johnnies. Look, times have changed. Not least because we now have something called ‘Health and Safety’ which means Isofix, and car-seats the size of a fucking armchair.
So you can be nostalgic for the good old days, when your children didn’t even have to wear seatbelts, but those days are gone.. It’s partly the reason why there are more of these kids making it to adulthood, actually, Barbara.
3. “But disabled spaces are more important”.
Yes. Of course they are. Nobody is saying otherwise. But it’s not either/or is it?
4. “Why should those who ‘breed’ get benefits that I don’t. Whinge whinge. etc.”
Look,.. people have all kinds of benefits that you don’t.. low blood pressure and some fucking empathy for a start.
And.. even if you don’t have kids the chances are you were one once. It’s True. Two people in the dim past made the monumental mistake of combining their DNA and creating someone as selfish and small-minded as you. So stop being a cock about something that keeps the next generation a little bit safer and maybe, god forbid, makes someone else’s day a little bit easier. Because, it doesn’t really affect you does it, you massive dick.
â â â â â â â â â
Hope that clears that up… Now can we all just get along?
