  • Check Your Nails, This Could Be Deadly

I had a walk-in nail client a couple of weeks ago. She had been going to the “NAILS” type salons for years. She had a straight dark vertical stripe down her nail. She said as soon as she sat down–I need a colour dark enough to cover this stripe. The nail salons “diagnosed” her a few different ways. Some said it was a lack of calcium. Some said it was hereditary. At least one had told her it was a blood blister.

This is melanoma!!! I did not want to frighten her but I told her she needed to see her doctor immediately! She called me today to tell me that yes it was a very aggressive melanoma that has already spread to her lymph nodes!! Her prognosis is not good! Check Your Nails, This Could Be Deadly.

Please pay attention to abnormalities in your nail beds!! Odd changes in your nails can very likely be nothing to worry about! But sometimes it is an indication of a very serious disease. And please keep an eye on the nail beds–toes and fingers—-of your elderly loved ones and your loved ones that aren’t physically able to notice changes in the nail beds! Early diagnosis can make all the difference in the world!!!

Melanoma is also known as malignant melanoma, is a type of cancer that develops from the pigment-containing cells known as melanocytes. Melanomas typically occur in the skin, under nails but may someties occur in the mouth, intestines, or eye. In women they most commonly occur on the legs, while in men they are most common on the back.

  • New Scam Risking Peoples Lives

    New Scam Risking Peoples Lives

Police have issued a Warning mainly towards  Ladies: If you are a female, take heed! If you are male and have a significant female in your life who you care about, whether it’s your wife, your girlfriend, your daughter, your sister, your niece, your cousin, your next door neighbour; whomever…………..pass this along!

Always, “Better safe than sorry!” A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a female putting petrol in her car and left his card. She said no, but accepted his card out of courtesy and got in her car.

The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman. As the lady left the petrol station, she saw the men following her out at the same time. Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realized that the odor was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the petrol station.

She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway she saw and began to beep her horn repeatedly to ask for help. The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes.

Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her. This drug is called ‘BURUNDANGA’ and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them. This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on simple cards. So take heed and make sure you don’t accept cards at any given time you are alone or from someone on the streets. This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS ALERT TO EVERY FEMALE/MALE YOU KNOW!!!!

  • Social services have bullied and victimized me-Bring my baby home

My 2-year-old son with special needs was removed last week after a desperate fight to keep him at home . All I ask is that you support me in my quest to have Levi returned home immediately . I need  the community, family and friends to work with me in helping make this happen.

My little boy Levi is partially non verbal he says 3 words and was making sounds to try to say more. He has mild hearing difficulties but did not allow audiology to complete all the tests as he was fearful of the equipment they put in his ears.

As a lone mother I always made his health my priority never-failing to meet his needs.
Social services are saying that he has failed to meet his communication milestones but what they failed to mention was this was the other area he needed to work on and that his gross motor and mobility skills were fine .

Levi is under pediatric at RBH we were due to be issued a portage worker that would teach me and Levi Makaton sign language to improve our communication through the use of visual cards. We were also recommended a social group by Peads with special needs children so he could meet other young children similar to himself to help improve his confidence . I thought this was a fantastic idea and couldn’t wait for this to begin .

Social services have bullied and victimized me . They tried to remove Levi before I had a chance to obtain any legal representation . They FAILED at their countless attempts to remove Levi then maliciously put false information in front of the judge that I hadn’t let in welfare professionals resulting in the third time them succeeding in the removal of Levi .

I have frantically been contacting out of hours social services in hope that I would be given updates on my sons wellbeing but had no success.

Dismally Levi’s health is deteriorating at his foster placement he has a cold and by the sounds of It a chest infection 😢The foster carer does not have his medical details and hasn’t taken Levi to the GP .

The handover did not happen as it should have and the foster carer has no details on Levi’s likes and dislikes, allergies or medical records which is appalling as Levi has special needs . She also does not have his red book or medical notes / letters .

Local authority should be ashamed of themselves .

My social worker told me that contact was not happening yesterday then abruptly hung up the phone .

I still arrived half an hour early and was told I was not allowed to take pictures on my mobile but could use the digital camera they provided .

The foster carer brought Levi 10 mins late and I was told this could not be made up due to room availability .

I dressed Levi up in his Halloween costume ghost 👻 and enjoyed cuddles .

I am really worried about his health as the foster carer wrote that she needed more details on likes and dislikes . I assume he was hungry as he was trying to pick the crumbs out the carpet . 💔 I miss him so much already I can’t wait for our reunion at contact on Thursday . Keep strong little man .

Emotionally I’m breaking down, I’m finding it difficult eating and staying positive .

    I am attending all appointments.

I went to the GP the other day and had concerning results back on my blood test

My body is struggling to fight with the stress since mine and Levi’s separation . The doctor told me the results were concerning and he hadn’t seen such high levels in my thyroid results . My anxiety is rocketing sky-high and I feel powerless . Me and Levi are being targeted and discriminated daily.

  • Childs Five Words Shake Her Mum To The Core: Racial Bullying

Everyone grew up with a childhood best friend. They were the one you missed when they weren’t at school, who always made you laugh and kept all your secrets and the keeper of every pinky promise. You two did everything together.

When you are young, it’s pretty incredible what a difference your best friend forever can make. Rachel May Stafford recently took to Facebook to share an experience her daughter had with her best friend who fell subject to racist bullying.

Stafford said her daughter explained tearfully that she asked her friend if she was OK after hearing the racist comments, but she didn’t respond.
“So I just scooted closer,” Stafford said her daughter told her. “I didn’t know what to do, Mama, so I just hurt with her.”

    I just hurt with her
“It took me a moment to recover from that,” Stafford said in her post. “I filed those powerful words away and continued observing this mighty pair.”
She went on to explain her admiration for the best friend duo, saying that they have always been there for each other.
“Whether one gets hurt on the playground … whether one is getting new glasses and needs an honest opinion … whether one needs encouragement at basketball tryout … whether one is frightened by a dog … they respond compassionately to each other’s needs.”

She said that even when they have disagreements, they manage to talk things through calmly and effectively.
She shared a story of taking the two girls to basketball camp, only to arrive and see that they were the only two girls at the camp. They fist bumped, then went on to enjoy their time at camp.

On the last day of camp, Stafford’s daughter looked at her best friend and said, “‘Thank you so much for going with me to that new camp. If you hadn’t been there, I don’t know what I would have done!’”
Her friend looked her straight in the eye and said, “‘If you ever have to go to a new basketball camp, don’t worry. I will always go with you.”

This is the kind of friend everyone should have
Stafford said she hopes the world takes note of a friendship like this.
“What if we collectively remember, ‘I’ll hurt with you,’ is something we can all do when we don’t know what to do?”
She said we should stop looking at it as “my back” or “your back,” but rather, “our backs,” so we can create a unified, peaceful world for our future generations.
She shared a picture of the two girls sitting on a football field and explained that the two of them have a little team of their own. But their team goal isn’t to win or be the best, it’s to love.

These sweet young girls are setting the perfect example of the love we should all have for one another, regardless of age or skin colour.
“They know that they are stronger together than they are alone,” Stafford said. “Let us take note.”

  • Things Not To Say To Parents After The Loss Of A Child

Losing a child is the hardest thing a parent can go through. There are often no words to describe the pain and anguish the parent feels. As a friend, you want to reach out to them but you often feel like you don’t quite know what to say.

Reaching out in love is the best thing you can do to help your friend who has just lost a child. Mums advice asked bereaved parents what things are better left unsaid.
Here are eight things Things Not To Say To Parents After The Loss Of A Child:

    1. “Your child/baby/fetus that passed away recently…”
Never refer to the child that passed away in impersonal ways. One of the biggest fears parents have is that their child will be forgotten. It is best to call the child by their name and talk about the great memories you had of him/her.

    2. “I just don’t know how you’re managing to hold it all together”
Quite often  the grieving parent is just putting a face on to make it through the day. You bringing it up will often tear down the facade they have built up that day to go out and get things done. They are obviously heartbroken; you don’t need to be the one to tell them that.

    3. “Well at least you’re still young”
The loss a baby or child is heartbreaking it doesn’t matter how young or old they are and if they can have more, no child can replace their angel baby.

    4. “He/she is in a better place”
Often a person believes this statement, but they would rather not hear it. The parent would rather their child be here on Earth with them. It isn’t bad to bring up religion, but maybe focus on listening to the parent share how they are feeling instead.

    5. “Well what you’re going through is just like that time I….”
Never trivialize their pain with your own story. Yes, you have pain and yes, they are feeling pain, but it probably isn’t the same pain. It is better to just listen to them share their feelings and the experience they are going through right now.

    6. “It’s been a while; maybe you should get over it”
This is a very blunt way of saying what a lot of people think: “How are you still grieving?” or “Why haven’t you gotten over it?” Never keep a clock on someone else’s grieving. It takes us each a different amount of time to deal with pain, and it is unfair to expect everyone to overcome grief in a certain time frame. The loss a child isn’t something you just get over.

    7. Dark jokes
Some people grieve by making terrible jokes about the situation. It is not a good idea to jump in and start making these kinds of jokes.

     8. Nothing
Reach out in love. Not saying anything will make the parent feel alone. Ultimately, whatever you say, as long as it is said with love, the parent will feel that love.
It is a terrible thing to lose a child, and it is important that those who have experienced this type of loss are surrounded by love. This is a hard thing to go through, and you can help erase some of that pain by reaching out with open arms.

  • Your Husband Should Eat Before Your Children

Who should you feed first your husband or your child?

For most the answer is simple, your children should always come first.
But there is a trend spreading across social media of woman admitting that their partner should always comes first.

Look after your “King” and he will provide for the off-spring.

One woman named Melissa Ravens aged 34 from Somerset posted saying “my husband will always come before my children, he is my priority, this doesn’t mean I don’t love my children, in fact I believe a loved happy husband makes for happy well brought up children, my husband works hard and needs my support. My children play all day so I plate my husbands meal first he requires more affection”.

Another woman named Sophia Marques Aged 23 and mother of 2 agreed with Ravens and said: “my husband needs to be fed first so he can have the energy to be able to make money to support the household”.

Many woman surprisingly agreed with these two ladies, although the majority of mums were shocked to hear this out dated idea and some weren’t very tactful with their replies and attacked these woman and branded them terrible mothers.

Now I don’t agree these woman but would never verbally attack them however I
normally would keep impartial on my web stories but on this one I cannot, my three children will always come before anyone and that includes myself.
I personally would rather starve so my children could eat, no man or woman will ever come before my children, but as long as all are being fed I’m not sure it matters which order it’s dished up.

I always dish up my children’s first purely so it has time to cool down I had never thought of it as a positive or negative thing.

Opinions are welcome here, let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Who should you feed first your husband or your child?

  • Stop Asking For The Daddy Stitch After Birth

A week before I gave birth to my first baby, my mother told me her story. After she gave birth to me, her doctor had joked with my father about “putting in an extra stitch” for him while sewing her up.

She had just delivered vaginally, and she knew the joke meant one thing: a tighter fit for sex after the healing process. My mother was appalled and embarrassed. “I couldn’t believe your father let the doctor say that in front of me,” she said. Sadly, my mother isn’t the only woman who’s told me she’s heard this joke. The “extra stitch for daddy,” or “daddy stitch,” joke is awful, and we need to stop making it.

Stop Asking For The Daddy Stitch After Birth

There is always truth in comedy, and I’m sorry to say that the “daddy stitch” is not an urban legend. It’s commonly called “the husband stitch” and was originally conceptualized in the 1950s as a way to “tighten things up” after repairing episiotomies, which were routine back then. Dr. Robert Barbieri, chair of obstetrics and gynaecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, told the Huffington Post, “What they thought is that if they did a routine episiotomy, they’d have a chance to repair it and that during the repair, they could actually create a better perineum than if they hadn’t done it. The idea [was] that we could ‘tighten things up.’”

Were you told this “joke”, would your husband or partner say something?

The last thing you want to hear after giving birth is a joke about making your vagina tighter, the stitch actually makes i harder  more painful for the woman, so te woman is less likely to want to have sex with her partner anyway.

Pelvic floor exercises should help to put things back to how they were without causing unnecessary pain.

So doctors and partners listen up, stop being so damn crude and support the woman so Stop Asking For The Daddy Stitch After Birth .

  • Do Not Tell Your Children You Love Them

Do Not Tell Your Children You Love Them

How many times a day do you tell your children you love them?

How many times a day do they hear you say I love you to other people or things?

Do you end a call with your partner with “Bye love you”.
Your children hear you express the word love countless times a day, you love this new outfit, you love the new tv series, you love that Hollywood actor, my god you love so much.

So when you tell your child you love them, do you love them as much as the shoes you bought on sale? Of course you love them more, but to a child the word Love is  becoming as common as the word “The”, “No”, and “okay”, “in a minute” .

    Change it up people, try:

“I love the way you smile”.

“You make me so happy when you draw such beautiful pictures”.

“You are amazing, I’m so proud that you’re mine”.

    “You are so kind-hearted”.

“How are you so clever, I like how hard you try”.

So do not tell your child you love them, ONLY, add some more to it, make your child  realise what they really mean to you and how great they are, build them up, make them believe in themselves.

Don’t just use the words I love you, show them every day.

Ttop telling silly objects you love them, say you like them yes but love them NO, hug your child, talk to them, actually listen to what your child has to say, put don your phone, tablet, laptop take in everything your child is doing and  describe what you like about them, let them know they are special, they are amazing, your child will grow so quickly make sure you don’t miss it.

  • This Mothers Act of Stopping Unintentional Racism is Going Viral!

When Brigette Diez Kerr’s daughter asked her if she could have her hair styled like her best friend’s, this mothers response is going viral for all the right reasons.

Credit: Brigette Diez Kerr via Facebook

“This is my daughter and her best friend. They’ve been BFFs since kindergarten. They are in 2nd grade now. My daughter got up the other morning for school and asked that I fix her hair like her best friend wears her hair. She wanted tiny braids just like her.

I didn’t give my daughter braids that morning. Instead, I told her we didn’t have time. That was a lie. It was MY fear of my daughter getting teased due to the stereotypes that we place on each other and how others perceive them that kept me from giving her braids that morning.

Credit: Brigette Diez Kerr via Facebook

My pastor just spoke this past Sunday morning of intentional and unintentional racism. I am by no means intentionally racist. I have dear friends and coworkers I love that are of many ethnicities. But was MY fear of my daughter being stereotyped a form of UNintentional racism?! I WAS CONVICTED! How dare I push MY fear, my UNintentional racism, onto my daughter who sees no color, no stereotype, no hate, no “white girl hairstyle” or “black girl hairstyle”? She only sees pretty hair on her best friend. She shows love to ALL people without hesitation.

My daughter got her braids this morning. They weren’t perfect…I tried my very best. And she was SO PROUD! Her smile was from ear to ear this morning and she couldn’t wait to get to school to show her best friend. She wanted to take a picture with her best friend this morning because they were twins.

I know so many people who claim to not be racist. Maybe you aren’t intentionally being racist but are there some decisions you are making or thoughts that you are having that may be considered UNintentional racism? We are called to love our neighbor as ourselves! Let’s do a better job of showing this love. #loveoverhate #colorblind #besties #checkyourself #unintentionalracism

    John 13:34-35 (NIV)
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
