MAGNA, Utah (KUTV) — A 38-day-old infant died three days after being hospitalized with traumatic injuries believed to have been inflicted by his father.

According to Unified police, the child was found unresponsive at the family’s Magna home on the evening of March 14 by his father, 25-year-old Armando Valenzuela, who called 911 after realizing his son had stopped breathing.

Officers responded to the residence just after 8 p.m., where they found the child with a faint pulse but unresponsive and limp. According to Valenzuela, the infant had been fussy earlier in the evening, and after being picked up from his swing, he suddenly became limp. Valenzuela alleged he performed CPR, which was unsuccessful, and then called 911.

The child was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital, where doctors discovered multiple signs of serious trauma, including retinal hemorrhaging, extensive brain bleeding, and multiple rib fractures. Police documents noted that these injuries were consistent with abusive head trauma. The infant was listed as critically ill and died at the hospital three days later.

The investigation into the child’s death revealed that Valenzuela had been alone with him that evening while the infant’s mother had left the house around 7:50 p.m. She reportedly received a call from Valenzuela shortly after 8 p.m. saying their son wasn’t breathing. She immediately told him to call 911.

Autopsy results confirmed the child’s injuries, unveiling severe subarachnoid hemorrhaging, often associated with traumatic brain injury, and multiple rib fractures. Doctors advised that these injuries are more commonly seen in cases of abuse rather than accidents.

During an interview with police, Valenzuela denied that he caused harm to his son but did not seem surprised when authorities informed him about the physical trauma confirmed in the autopsy. Officers noted that Valenzuela expressed concern over the doctors’ care and handling of his son, suggesting that medical staff contributed to his death.

The child’s mother voiced concern about her son’s behavior, noting that he would often scream when alone with Armando, but not when she was present. She indicated that his cries would become louder and more intense when Valenzuela was watching him.

According to police documents, Valenzuela asked the officer transporting him to jail about “second chances,” questioning whether, if found guilty, the officer would believe he was “a good enough person to get a second chance.”

Valenzuela was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on felony charges of murder and intentional child abuse.

The Swan in Lavenham has been included in a list by travel writers at The Sun in a round up of places that people should try and visit this year. 

They have a set three course menu, which is served from 12pm to 4pm, and includes a complimentary cocktail or mocktail for every mum. 

This is £50 per person and as well as the three course menu and includes tea, coffee, truffles and a gift for mum.

3- Suffolk Food Hall

In 2023 Suffolk Food Hall was named one of the best food halls in the UK. 

This restaurant runs a set menu for lunch on Mother’s Day at 12.15pm with adults being £40 per person and children are £17.50 per person. 

They also offer hampers this includes a set Mother’s Day one, an afternoon tea hamper, a champagne and chocolate hamper and the ultimate Suffolk hamper.

4-Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel

This hotel is surrounded by an award winning championship golf course and seasonal dishes are served in their our tee-view restaurant called Ogilvie’s. 

They have two set Mother’s Day menus, you can either get two courses for £19.95 or £24.95 for three courses which includes a small gift for mum. 

This set menu includes a range of desserts with one being strawberries and Charlotte Champagne.

5- Jimmy’s Farm 

The Barn Restaurant and Coffee House is situated in a converted barn and is perfect for a Mother’s Day Sunday lunch. 

This is available from 12pm to 7.15pm and a deposit is required when booking. 

On the menu you have a choice of starters or nibbles, a Sunday roast, burgers and even some delicious desserts including a warm chocolate brownie.

6-Seckford Hall Hotel & Spa

Seckford Hall Hotel and Spa is offering a Mother’s Day lunch and a Mother’s Day afternoon tea. 

The lunch has live jazz band entertainment and a gift for mum to take home. 

Mother’s Day afternoon tea includes a gift for mum too and can either be served with prosecco or champagne, which if you choose this the price increases.

7- The Black Lion 

In 2023 The Black Lion was voted as one of the best pubs for a roast dinner in Suffolk by Lifestyle guide Muddy Stilettos. 

Ther chefs have put together two and three course menus for lunch and dinner with surprises also on the day.

They offer a range of different foods on their set menu this includes sirloin of beef, lamb burger and even sticky toffee pudding.

The latest in Disney’s growing supply of live-action redos, “Snow White” (in theaters now) changes up some aspects of the original animated classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” It also adds new songs, courtesy of Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and casts “West Side Story” breakout Rachel Zegler as the “fairest of them all.” (Naturally, the Evil Queen, now played by Gal Gadot, has something to say about that.)

What is ‘Snow White’ about?

There’s a lot familiar from the original movie, with some narrative tweaks and a meatier character arc for Snow. An orphaned princess, Snow is a scullery maid for her stepmother, the Evil Queen obsessed with asking her Magic Mirror who’s the fairest of them all. When Snow begins to question the villainess about how she treats the kingdom’s people, and it’s clear Snow is the fairest, the queen orders her huntsman to kill Snow and bring back her heart.

He doesn’t, she escapes into the magical forest, and Snow befriends Jonathan (Andrew Burnap), the bandit leader, as well as Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Grumpy, Happy, Dopey and Doc. Her new allies help hide her and also plan a move against the queen’s forces, though the disguised antagonist delivers a poison apple to Snow, putting a wrinkle in her rebellion.

Who plays Snow White in the new movie?

The new Snow is 23-year-old Rachel Zegler. She won a Golden Globe for her breakthrough role as the lovestruck Maria in Steven Spielberg’s 2021 remake of “West Side Story.” New fans should also check her out in the superhero sequel “Shazam! Fury of the Gods,” “Hunger Games” prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” and the Netflix animated fantasy musical “Spellbound.”

What happened to Snow White’s parents?

In the original “Snow White,” it’s left rather vague. The new film digs into that a bit with a backstory that begins with kid Snow and her parents in a musical number with pies and lots of dancing before things turn bleak. Snow’s mom dies at a young age, her father unfortunately remarries Gadot’s character and Dad ventures off to another kingdom to never return. His fate remains a mystery for most of the movie and Snow holds out hope that he will return one day.

What age rating is the 2025 ‘Snow White’?

While the original animated classic is rated G (for general audiences), the new “Snow” is PG for “violence, some peril, thematic elements and brief rude humor.” Movies are rarely rated G anymore, and the film is not only appropriate for most ages but also delivers an important message for kids. “Snow White” champions kindness and empathy over cruelty and tyranny – Zegler’s character even benefits from the simple lesson of making sure she remembers someone’s name.

What’s the controversy with ‘Snow White’?

People have been angry about something or other with this movie for two years now. First, Internet trolls were angry about Zegler, who’s of Colombian descent, being cast as a character that the Brothers Grimm fairy tale describes as being “white as snow.” Then she got backlash for criticizing the original film as “weird” for having a cartoon prince who “stalks” Snow White, adding that this new version is “not about the love story at all.” “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage also took Disney to task for retelling a “backward story” about dwarves.

More recently, the two lead stars’ political beliefs have been brought into the conversation, with activist groups calling for boycotts because of Gadot’s pro-Israel views of the war in Gaza while Zegler has been very pro-Palestine and anti-Trump on social media.

Not that your child is likely to care about any of that if they’re coming to see a Disney princess sing songs.

Is ‘Snow White’ too scary for little kids?

Not overly, though there are a few moments where moms and dads might need to hold the hands of very little ones. When Snow escapes into the magical forest, the branches try to grab her, she runs into a very angry-looking monster tree and then goes on a perilous journey through some raging rapids. (She comes out OK, though, with just a little wet hair.)

The scene where Snow bites into the poison apple and “dies” is a smidge traumatic, though obviously she gets better. And as for that Evil Queen, Gadot plays her more campy than scary, and she meets a fate that’s different from the original movie but is a tad freaky.

Grown-ups might be bothered by the CGI Grumpy and Co., who are just really weird and don’t fit in the movie at all, but kids will love ’em.

Where can I watch ‘Snow White’? 

The new film is in theaters and those who prefer to watch things from their couch will need to wait. If it follows a similar path like recent Disney releases “Moana 2” and “Mufasa: The Lion King,” “Snow White” will likely be available on-demand in late May or early June and on Disney+ sometime this summer.

On Saturday morning, Justin Bieber shared a new carousel of photos on Instagram that included what looks like a photo of his son, Jack Blues Bieber, who he shares with wife Hailey Bieber.

The carousel began with a close shot of Justin, his eyes covered by his hooded black-and-white pullover. That image was followed by a photo of Justin as a child and then a more abstract image of what appears to be a film projection with Jack crawling on a blanket laid out on the floor in between two couch cushions. A source told People on Friday that though the star has been posting cryptic messages recently on social media, his relationship with Hailey is “fine.”

Amidst interest from Inter Milan in the upcoming summer transfer window, the father of Nico Paz has revealed that his son would be happy to remain at Como.
