  • Sad Times, I’ve Filled In My Childs School Application

Sad times! I’ve finally filled out my littlest one’s school application.

I left it as long as possible as I was totally putting it off. For lots of reasons, I am going to miss having the babe with me every day, I am going to miss the snuggles at a moments notice, I am worried that as my final baby goes to school I am on the path to old age and eventual death and decay.

My mind is running out of control, what will I do with myself, what if this is what finally sends me over edge just wondering around lost all day (in between my work obviously). It’s making me feel very sad even though I know it’s so stupid to think this way. Haven’t I said to so many people so many times parenting is the longest game you’ll ever play. Usually adding with a grimace, ‘and it never ends and you don’t ever WIN’

You do WIN most days though, even if it’s just for a second. You snatch all those winning moments and block out the bad ones (eventually!) 😂😂 and how we laugh about it!! 😱😂😂😂

I am very ponderous today and a bit stroppy too, but please forgive me whilst I move through this and try to hold myself x

Being a mum means lettng go, I know people say that kids grow up so fast but I am not ready for it to fly by in the blink of an eye.

Treasure the little moments, read another story, snuggle under the blankets, before you know it they will be starting school, then secondary school, college, maybe university and moving out and starting their own families

  • This Advert Is The Most Inspirational Thing I Have Ever Watched

Most parents will never know what it’s like to care for a sick child — not the ones with snotty noses and low-grade fevers, but the ones with real, chronic, sometimes-fatal illnesses — and that’s a good thing. It’s a pain no mum should have to bear, but many do, and a soul-crushing ad is shedding light on just a glimpse of what that struggle is like.

In honor of Mother’s Day last year, SickKids Foundation, a children’s health nonprofit, released the 90-second commercial. In it, there’s a mom praying in a church pew, a mom screaming and bashing her fists against the steering wheel in a vacant parking lot, and a mom breaking down in tears as a nurse explains how she’ll have to care for her sick infant. Those watching can almost feel the anguish. Almost.

Then, each of these moms literally wipes away the tears, picks herself up, and gets to work. It’s remarkable.

The organization’s message? “For every kid in hospital who’s missing childhood, there’s a mom staying strong.”

Unlike most ads you watch, take action after you see this one. As SickKids implores, stand with these mums to “help their kids get back to just being kids.” And may you never have to know this kind of strength.

  • We Must Keep The Cancer Away From Little Mikey

Mikey is a playful and loving little toddler, who likes nothing more than to spend hours playing with his toy farm animals while singing Old Macdonald Had a Farm.” He loves cuddling up to watch Peppa Pig and playing with his baby brother, Bobby.

But in December 2017 when Mikey was just 20 months old and enjoying the build-up to Christmas, his parents noticed a lump in his tummy. After a trip to A&E, the doctors diagnosed his condition as stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma, with further tests revealing that the tumour had grown from above his right kidney to across almost his entire abdomen. It had heavily infiltrated his bone marrow.

Mikey was started on a gruelling induction chemotherapy schedule on Christmas Eve, receiving eight cycles of treatment every ten days. He responded well to the initial treatment and Mikey has since gone on to battle his way through a complex eight and a half hour surgery to remove the remainder of the tumour.

That was followed by high dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplant and radiotherapy, and he is due to start immunotherapy treatment. Throughout his eight months of treatment, he has had to endure numerous blood transfusions, general anaesthetics, nose tube insertions, injections and antibiotics to fight infections. Amazingly he has remained in high spirits and has helped to carry his family through it with his endless humour and cheeky personality.

He has even taken great pleasure in running down the hospital corridors giggling while attached to medication wires, knowing that his parents would need to chase after him with his medical drip stand!

Mikey’s mum, Caroline, says: I will never forget when the news was broken to us. I was heavily pregnant at the time and we were all looking forward to Mikeys first proper Christmas and to introducing him to a little baby brother. We couldnt have dreamt in our worst nightmares when we walked into A&E that it would be another month and a half before we would walk out of a hospital again.”

“That said, it has never ceased to amaze me how resilient he has been throughout and the strength of his character has shone brightly throughout.

While Mikey has so far responded well to his treatment, immunotherapy spells the end of his frontline treatment available on the NHS, and his battle is far from over. Almost 50% of children with high-risk neuroblastoma relapse and when it does come back less than 1 in 10 survive.

So Mikey and his family are fundraising in case they need to access treatment or clinical trials not available through the NHS, to give him the best chance of the cancer-free future he deserves.

“We are hugely grateful for your support,” continues Caroline. “Your donations could help Mikey receive the best treatment available to him. We must keep the cancer away.”

  • I am the mom who wonders what is going on in that little head of his

I am the mom who sees her child off to school each morning praying he will have a good day

I am the mom who walks into work with a smile on my face to hide the pain and fear

I am the mom who reluctantly answers the phone when I see the school calling

I am the mom who fights back tears on my way to pick him up because he is in trouble yet again

I am the mom who acts as though I am so highly disappointed in his behavior in front of the school staff yet all I want to do his hold him and make his sadness and pain disappear

I am the mom listens to others tell me it’s a discipline issue, he will grow out of it, he’s just a boy while invisibly rolling my eyes into the back of my head….because they have no idea what they are talking about

I am the mom who walks into school and signs another behavior slip like it’s just another day

I am the mom who spends her school pick time rummaging through the lost and found because he forgot his jacket on the playground…..again

I am the mom who has to leave work abruptly because “he can’t stay here today”

I am the mom who watches him sleep so calm and sweet and wishes his days could be equally as peaceful

I am the mom who begs and prays for him to just have a happy, easy, enjoyable life

I am the mom who wakes up and does it all over again….for him…because I know his greatness and I know his heart and I understand him and will love him though it all. He is my baby and I will fight for him until my last breath.

  • Why My Home Is A Mess When I Am Feeling Down

When my head plays up with dark depressing thoughts my house is a mess, there’s clothes & rubbish everywhere, the sheets go unchanged for weeks and the floor doesn’t exist, the children will be fed and bathed but chaos will be all around.

Once I find the motivation to be happy my house gets scrubbed, all my clothes even the unworn ones get washed, ironed and put away, my walls get scrubbed so there’s not one mark, my floor is swept, vacuumed and mopped, the sheets get changed finally and bed gets made, my makeup and shoes get organised and cleaned, candles get placed and lit to give off an amazing scent of aloe.. my hair and teeth are unbrushed and my legs unshaven, my cloths are loose and unmatched, my shoes are dirty.. once I feel the weight of my memories lift I shower, finally.

Relieved as the water covers me, my body Is hairless and exfoliated, my hair is treated and soft, my teeth are brushed and whitened and my skin is clear, you can see the glow and My energy is on a whole new level… some of you wouldn’t understand how much your house and appearance reflects your feelings so when you see me looking raggedy, my homes a mess and my hair is knotted it’s not because I’m “lazy” it’s because I’m stuck in my head and the lights simply won’t turn on.

  • YouTube Taught My Child How To Kill Herself

This is an exceptionally hard thing for me to post. I’ve thought long and hard about this. I’ve decided it’s way too important not to bring awareness to other parents. This is not up for criticism. I only want to let all parents know what to watch for….

Kids YouTube, roblox, fortnight… no matter how much you think you are monitoring your child.. notifications to what your child is watching. It doesn’t matter. My 7-year-old child was taught how to attempt suicide by kids YouTube and these games. She has expressed that she doesn’t feel neglected or unloved. Instead, she was constantly told to ‘go kill yourself’ by other gamers, by kids YouTube. Shown HOW to.

Sunday night, she had a full-blown anxiety attack. Which I held her and sang to her while she got through it. Monday, she drew this in school.

This is a VERY real danger! I NEVER thought I would find myself helping my SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD through an anxiety attack. PLEASE, keep your children away from these things. I’m just so glad my child was able to express her feelings before she actually tried to harm herself. I never thought something as ‘innocent’ as kids YouTube would have these subliminal messages. Again, I’m only sharing our experience in the hopes to prevent another child going through this.

  • Killed By A Dangerous Driver Please Help Us Change The Laws

This beautiful angel is Violet-Grace Youens, we call her an angel because she is no longer with us, she is no longer with her mummy, daddy or her baby brother…

She was walking from school after an afternoon play with her cousins one day when she and her nana were hit by a stolen car, the driver of the car then fled the country within 3 hours of the incident, we would like to support their campaign to ensure this doesn’t happen again, or if in the event it does, the punishment will fit the crime.

    💜VIOLET-GRACE’S LAW💜

    Please help, sign and share!

We need as many signatures as possible. The current sentence for Death by Dangerous Driving is outdated – the punishment does not fit the crime. We are petitioning for the government to act now… life sentences for Death by Dangerous Driving were discussed in parliament in autumn 2017; however, we are now in 2019 and more innocent people have been killed, and then insulted due to current sentencing guidelines. We are petitioning for Life Sentences for Death by Dangerous Driving – with a minimum tariff of 15 years (current minimum tariff for murder). Please see the petition for more detail.

On 24th March 2017, Violet-Grace Youens was 4-years old when she was mowed down with her nan, by a stolen car that was travelling around 85mph, in a 30 mph residential area. The driver and passenger fled the scene, with the driver fleeing the country within a matter of 3 hours. He is in prison now, but as it stands he will serve half his sentence in prison and half in the community, just over 4 years in prison – meaning he will be in prison less time than Violet was on this earth.

Violet was too poorly from her extensive injuries, and sadly passed away the next evening. Violet became a life-Saving organ donor.

Violet’s nan has been left with life changing injuries and the driver serves his sentence for her nan the same time as Violet, rather than separately.

We want to make the roads a safer place, no parent, or family should feel this pain – we have a life sentence without Violet-Grace.

  • Losing A Pet Is Harder Than People Think

Having a pet is something that fascinates us, they fill us with great joy from the first moment they arrive at our home, we are fascinated to feel their company and watch them do their pranks around us.
Many people who have pets, love to have them since these animals give us unparalleled love, they are a tenderness and we love that this is so, we feel very good in the company of our pets.
When we are alone, pets accompany us, they are always our faithful companions in good times or in bad times they are always with us, we like it that way since we feel supported by something.
When we lose our pet it affects us a lot and it is that many say that it hurts too much to lose a pet that for so many years we have been with her and that we have taken care of her and she has been our faithful friend.
It is very likely that at least once in your life you have had a pet, that you have loved it too much, supported you and accompanied you in your worst moments but you must say goodbye to the least expected day.
Many people say that a pet is happiness, they are angels in the form of pets and they always accompany us and love to do it as we also love them to follow us.
Losing a beloved pet hurts too much, much more than people think it hurts, many underestimate the pain that can be felt by losing our dog friend or our cat or any other pet we have ever had.
To verify this, a study carried out in the Department of Psychology of the University of New Mexico in the United States asked many owners how they had felt after the loss of their pet and many said that the pain had been very deep.
Another university but in this case in Hawaii, not only confirmed this fact but also said that the pain after the death of a pet is usually much longer lasting than the pain we feel with the loss of a loved one.
Many today say they have suffered a lot for the loss of their pet and that often that pain does not compare with the loss of a loved one.
    What do you think?
