  • The Man Who Was So Badly Abused He was 10 Days From Death

When Alex Skeel was finally taken to a hospital in June 2017, doctor’s told him he was 10 days away from death.

His girlfriend at the time, Jordan Worth, subjected Alex to a year of torture and domestic violence and for nine months between 2016 – 2017, Alex was forced to sleep on the floor of their Bedfordshire home using clothes as blankets and pillows.

During one period, Alex was forced to ingest an entire packet of sleeping pills before going to a fair with Jordan.

Alex was only allowed to seek medical treatment after the police were called when Jordan had hit him in the arm with a bread knife, cutting Alex so deeply he almost bled out.

During their relationship, Jordan would throw boiling water on Alex while he slept, beat him on a daily basis, telling him that anytime she missed a day, she would then make up for it the following night.

Alex was never allowed to seek out medical attention for any of his injuries and at one point, was forced to pull out one of his teeth after Worth had struck him violently with a hairbrush.

In 2017 Jordan was sentenced to 7 years in prison on the charges of grievous bodily harm and an additional 6 months for coercive and abusive behaviour. She is the first woman in the entire United Kingdom to have been handed this sentence..

He had two children with Jordan and believed that if he didn’t take the abuse, she would turn her attention on to their children.

The abuse also didn’t start immediately, it was small things here and there at first.

Alex endured his torture purely to protect his own children as Jordan has threatened multiple times that she would injure their children.

Domestic Abuse doesn’t just affect woman, if you are a victim of domestic abuse, be it emotional, financial or physical please speak out, please find the strength to walk away

  • Woman Claims Her Baby Is Black Because Her White Husband Drank Coffee

A young, white woman who was 24 years of age gave birth to a baby weighing 3.5 kg, at the University Hospital of Valencia (Spain), . Contrary to the common sigh of relief and cry of happiness, everyone was amazed when the white woman gave birth to a black baby while her white husband was present.

Even if the husband is also white, the strange thing is that the baby was born black. After the childbirth, in the room, the young man asked the wife for explanations. “I am not racist, I have nothing against other races, but she has betrayed me.” She replied: “I did not betray you, you drink coffee day and night”

The medical team initially thought the baby was purple due to respiratory failure, but soon realized that it was a happy and healthy black baby.

They might even have a black relative in their family and a genetic mutation could have combined those genes, but that was not the case.

The father is awaiting dna results to come back, but the mother is adamant the baby is his and coffee is the factor in the skin colour of their child.

Now we at Mums advice are not medically trained but we are pretty sure coffee doesn’t change skin colour whilst in the womb, we feel someone is possibly lying hmmmm….

  • How Did You Sleep Last Night?

How did you sleep last night? How much did you spend on a your night out? How much was your takeaway?

So last night while I was out in Derby with the girls! I stumbled across a kind, polite homeless man called Dwayne Padmore, 36. He was wrapped under a red blanket. Making no eye contact with the world. Just trying to stay warm and keep himself to himself.

I asked him if he would like some food. To which he replied “Yes Please”. I got him a Tuna & Cheese foot long meal deal from Subway

On my return I sat down with him and had a little chat and I learned his story, he has only been on the streets for 6m after losing his Property, Job and Family.

Dwayne has 2 children, son Jack 12 and a daughter Jorja 10 and only gets to see them once a month.

He used to be a food service chef and his hobbies are Music, Gym and Football being a life long Liverpool supporter.

He says he spends his nights outside Farsight Recruitment Ltd in Derby, he gave no reason as to why he chose this doorway.

Dwayne said his biggest ambition in life is to make sure his children are alright.

The more I talked to him. The more I felt he needed some help. So if can afford to buy a round of cocktails for £30, I can afford to put this man up in a hotel for a night, with a nice hot shower, warm bed and some home comforts. Hallmark Hotel Derby Midland

The next time you see a homeless person, Stop & Think. Every person has a story to be told. This man is pretty much my age, with two children. On the streets and in need of some help.

I hope you slept well Dwayne and Thanks to all of you that made this mans night better!

This is to try to raise a bit of awareness about homelessness. PLEASE SHARE

  • This Picture Perfectly Illustrates The Divide That Happens When No one Steps In

*This picture is blurry for a reason.

I’m not trying to put this specific family on blast, but I am trying to shine a light on these little moments of motherhood that can add up to feeling isolated and resentful, and this one captures it perfectly.

While at lunch yesterday, I watched this mom entertain her baby with a balloon, with walking around, with touching the art on the wall, etc. (we’ve all been there) the entire time her family enjoyed their birthday celebration with food and drinks and lively conversation. No one stepped in to let HER enjoy being part of the group. This image, with the mom in pink on the left (with her baby touching a balloon) is an accurate visual of the constant, UNSEEN care-taking of motherhood many moms do that leave us out of the group.

Either no one noticed the subtle work she was doing, or no one wanted to give up their enjoyment to let her have a taste of it too. I considered offering to hold her baby so she could rejoin her family for a bit, but I knew that was gonna be weird.

And people wonder why postpartum depression, rage, and resentment are a common part of modern motherhood. 🤔 We don’t just need better diagnosis and doctors to help new moms – we need our families and friends to notice us, and to help bring us back to the table.

I vividly remember this stage and I remember writing in a journal that I never wanted to forget how isolating it felt at dinners and parties to be walking a baby around while everyone sips on wine and tickles the baby’s feet as I pass them instead of offering to help me eat without a human on me. I never wanted to forget it because I knew that “Gramnesia” would probably erase it from my brain. I wrote it down so I would remember to help my then grown-up kids and spouses in this department – especially the moms.

Please share this far and wide so that people in different phases of life and roles in families can see where these cracks form for us moms, and where they can easily step in and help us. Even if they can’t understand it because they haven’t lived it, this picture perfectly illustrates the divide that happens when no one steps in. #bringusbacktothetable #gramnesia #motherhood #defaultparent

  • To The Ignorant Woman On The Bus

To the ignorant woman on the bus today … Hi my name is Joey and I have Down Syndrome, sometimes I can be a little bit loud and don’t always like waiting but I am a very lovely happy little man 😁

We don’t usually get the bus so I was a little bit excited I didn’t like waiting I just wanted to get on any bus but mum said we had to wait for the right one so whilst we were waiting I played with my iPad when the bus finally came I was so excited and wanted to get on it straight away but we had to let all the other people on and wait our turn …you were in front of us and told me to shut up then you laughed and told my mum that I might listen to you.

Mum was pretty uncomfortable as I wasn’t being naughty just a little loud but I can’t help it … you then stood in front of us and had a conversation with a gentleman getting off the bus and made us wait even longer all I wanted was to get on the bus .. mum thought you were rude but never said anything as she is too polite … you finally moved and we got on the bus at last.

I was so excited I choose to sit on the seat behind you .. mum parked up my buggy and sat on the seat behind me .. I was so excited waiting for the bus to start I touched your black wooly hat with a Pom Pom on (I didn’t pull it like just touched it u see sometimes I just can’t resist I often touch most things I see) u looked at me then stood up and leant to two ladies sat in front of you and said loudly “is he Down syndrome.

I couldn’t do with that” the poor lady nodded (she was mortified by the way) then you sat down .. mum said to you that you should ask her if you had a question and she will happily answer but you ignored her … I am Joey I have Down syndrome I am not Down syndrome … my family love me just the way I am and today I had a lovely ride on the bus and cake and hot chocolate in Costa …. mum says you should learn some manners by the way

  • When I Placed My Order I Said Regular Amount Of Chromosomes Please

When I placed my order I said, “Regular amount of chromosomes, please!” That’s what everyone else got and what I wanted too. They called me shortly after my order was in production and said “Great news, we went ahead and upgraded you to extra chromosomes for free!

You’ll receive the extra chromosomes with your completed order in 9 months.” What?! I was mad! All the other orders I had seen displayed via perfect Instagram posts did NOT have extra chromosomes. Well I decided that receiving my order with extra chromosomes was better than not receiving an order at all, so I settled in to wait for this surprise upgrade to arrive.

I have now had my order for two months and am writing this review to let others know the upgrade to extra chromosomes is amazing!! If offered, definitely take it! I posted some photos below of the finished product and you can see the extra chromosome is so worth it – it is extra cute, extra special, and extra-ordinary! So much extra joy. Would purchase again for sure 😬 💛💙💛💙#sweetgwendolyn #t21 #theluckyfew #upsyndrome #extrachromosome #nothingdownaboutit

  • Serious Warning About The Dangers Of Popcorn

Now that I’ve had a chance to sit and reflect on a very unfortunate but eye-opening event that our family encountered. I wanted to share our experience because as I’ve shared the story so many people were shocked and unaware of the bad effect popcorn can have on a toddler. Last Saturday night we were all watching a movie and eating popcorn which is a very frequent event on the weekend in our home. I didn’t think twice to give Nash popcorn. Nash had small choking episode but was fine. We didn’t see anything come out so we assumed he swallowed it.

He seemed completely fine and continued to watch the movie. The only thing we observed was a cough he developed after the episode. The next day he was fine but still had a weird sounding cough which concerned me a little. I just assumed he was catching the same crud we had all been going through. Monday came, Jake left for a 3 day trip and it was pretty much the same as the day prior. As the evening came I noticed Nash felt warm and he was super fussy. He had a fever, so I gave him Motrin and put him to bed. A very long night with him and then his breathing looked a little labored to me and he just didn’t feel good. I called my pediatrician immediately and said Nash needs to be seen ASAP.

We went in and got sent to children’s main campus immediately. After a chest X-ray the dr didn’t like what he saw so he got scheduled that evening for a Bronchoscopy. Thankful for the wonderful company we work for, they got Jake on a plane and back to Denver. At 6pm they put Nash under and performed the procedure. I paced and cried the entire time my little man was in surgery. Jake arrived at the hospital just in time to go to recovery and see nash. He had aspirated popcorn into his lungs when he choked.

The body recognized it as a foreign object and put puss pockets around it. All the inflammation caused him to develop pneumonia in his left lung. During the procedure the dr got out 6 pieces. There was so much inflammation so the dr wasn’t 💯 he got it all so scheduled him to be admitted and repeat the procedure in 2 days. It was a an up and down roller coaster but we were in the best care. The second procedure was done and once again poor guy had to be put under and rolled off to surgery. The dr met us when it was over and said procedure was successful and he got the last piece out. Nash was a rockstar and recovered well. He had to go one hour on room air oxygen with out his o2 dropping under 90. He passed and we were discharged that evening.

If I wouldn’t have trusted my instinct and brought him in, the outcome wouldn’t have been good.

We’re so thankful our little man came out ok. All of this over popcorn which is eaten on a regular basis in our home.

I got a lecture of course on how popcorn isn’t supposed to be given to anyone under 5. I hate to use the excuse he’s our third child so I overlook and don’t pay as close attention to the do’s and dont’s as we did with our first.

Please no negative judgment on this post, I wrote it as an eye opener for people to see how something that you think is fine can quickly turn into something bad! Always trust your gut because it’s right!! I want to thank all who stepped in to help, whether it was taking our girls for a night, or letting our dog out. The constant phone calls and texts to check on us meant a lot. We have a lot of special people in our life.

  • Why I Still Breastfeed My 4 Year Old

This is the latest COMMENT I got after saying I BF my 4 year-old. I’d like to share with you my response, in case you ever come across it too in your BF journey…

    I said I BREASTFEED my 4 year-old and I was told:

“If a 4-year-old child STILL looks for the BREAST, she is obviously LACKING something ”

    I agree, TOTALLY.☺️

LET ME tell you just WHAT, is lacking in my child’s life:

The FORCING to wean is lacking.

The imposition to stop is lacking.

She lacks two parents who want to DETACH her at all costs.

She lacks a mother who feels cheated of her autonomy as a modern woman.

    She is lacking PERMANENT teeth:

milk teeth = authorisation to be an infant. 🤗

She lacked years spent sucking a rubber PACIFIER.

She lacked a bottle of chamomile to calm her night CRIES.

    Vitamin supplements are lacking.

She lacks an entourage , UNPREPARED to defend and support the mother, against the weight of social pressure that pushes her to abandon breastfeeding.

INSECURITY and low self-esteem are also NOT THERE.

She lacks the URGENCY to stop.

    She lacks the GROWTH milk.

AND, she lacks a family surrounded by bad advisers.😉

A mother breastfeeding an “older” child is often considered a SELFISH mother, who cannot detach from her little one, who does not want to let go, who does not stimulate autonomy, who spoils, oppresses.

A mother who breastfeeds for a long time is treated as if she is doing something illegal and so she operates quietly, stealthily, as a thief.

She is considered EXCESSIVE, an exhibitionist even.

She feels alone, but I want to shout to each one of you that NO, you are NOT alone!!!!

You are warriors mothers, following a natural mammalian INSTINCT that modernity is trying to wrest us away from.

You deserve to walk with your heads UP and your tits in the WIND, because from those nipples Love and nourishment for your little one flows.

Among a thousand hardships, so many ups and downs, turbulent nights,

    sweaty summer feedings,

    unlikely positions,

    pointed fingers,

    curious looks,

    unhappy comments,

    shapeless t-shirts and

    tested breasts…

BREASTFEEDING is and always will be a great gift we can give ourselves, our children and the whole world.

    ❤️❤️❤️

  • What Being A Dom Really Means

I am classed as a Dom, and i have my submissive whom i call my “little” I know this may not be everyone’s kink and 50 shades of grey is not a true representation of the relationship.

Let me tell you what being a Dom is:

Dominance is being there for her.

Dominance is working through her meltdowns.

Dominance is accepting her, especially when she won’t accept herself.

Dominance is being asked for the millionth time if you love her.

Dominance is tucking her in at night.

    Dominance is telling her no.

    Dominance is quieting her demons.

Dominance is being her bastion of strength.

Dominance is shrugging off her anger and frustration when you do things for her own good.

    Dominance is encouraging her.

Dominance is comforting her in the middle of the night when she’s had a nightmare.

    Dominance is guiding her.

    Dominance is building her.

    Dominance is love.

Don’t knock it until you have tried it

  • Here’s Why You Should Bin Your Mascara

😳 Throughout my years of working my little makeup biz, I’ve had so many women admit to me that they don’t remove their makeup, replace their mascara regularly, or wash their face daily. My reaction is always like 😱 and here’s why…

🥺 Hello, my name is demodex folliculorum and I live in the pores of the skin of your face – that’s why it’s important to wash your face and remove makeup!!

🕷The only way you can see me is with a microscope. I measure between 0.3 and 0.4mm and like spiders, I have 8 legs.

I like living in hair follicles that you have in your nose, cheek, and eyelashes. These are places where there’s more fat to feed me.

I feed on your secretions and your dead skin. I can put up to 25 eggs in every hair follicle.

My digestive system is not able to eliminate my waste, so I accumulation them in my body until I explode and die. My remains cause hypersensitivity reactions.

According to some studies, in some people, I can cause infections on eyelids and rosacea.

I am a mite that is present in almost every adult on this planet.

    • Are you gonna remove your makeup tonight? • Are you going to invest in a good skin care regime?

    • Or are you going to be grossed out and ignore it and allow these little guys to reproduce on your face? 😬

Speak to me for your perfect cleanser!

PS…If your mascara if over 3 months old, you might wanna throw it out and get a new one too! Often people brag to me that they don’t wear mascara much so theirs lasts a year. Nope! Bacteria begins to grow in your tube after the first time you use it. 90 days is the max you should go 😉
