Ed Westwick is feeling the XOXO.

The Gossip Girl alum and his wife Amy Jackson welcomed their first child together, they announced on March 24.

“Welcome to the world, baby boy,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post, sharing black-and-white photos of their son. “Oscar Alexander Westwick.” 

The newborn joins 5-year-old Andreas, who Amy shares with ex George Panayiotou.

The couple’s family’s newest addition comes six months after Ed, 37, and Amy, 33, tied the knot during a lavish wedding ceremony at the Castello di Rocca Cilenta, a five-star hotel located inside a walled-off castle near the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

“The journey has just begun,” the two wrote on Instagram shortly after the August nuptials, adding in another post, “With the sun setting behind us, surrounded by our dearest friends and family, we exchanged our vows in a moment we’ll cherish forever,” the two wrote on Instagram at the time.”

Forever receiving messages from your mum about the Feng Shui of your damp, mould ridden uni house? Some new home interiors could be the perfect present. Head to The Plant Point for some greenery, or if your mum isn’t so green-fingered, Attic in Bloom is a great choice for some dried flowers (impossible to kill)! Since they’re both located in the Corn Exchange, you’ll also be bringing a little bit of Leeds back home.

Or, if your mum is more into decor with vintage charm, Goods In could be the place for you. It’s a treasure trove of vintage pieces, so if you can’t decide, take your mum with you and let her pick out her favourite followed by a coffee at Bruschetta.

For the foodie mum

Afternoon Tea is a go-to for celebrating Mother’s Day, and there’s plenty of options to choose from in Leeds from the classic menu of The Ivy to a fun Italian twist at LIVIN’ Italy. If you yourself are a fellow foodie, plan a DIY food tour route including your favourite spots in Leeds.

Struggling for ideas? We suggest Underground Bakery on Call Lane in the city centre or Boroughgate in Otley for some next level pastries (sweet and savoury), Doh’hut for a decadent bagel (the savoury ‘Dagel’ is a personal fave) and Pollini’s Pizza Slice in Kirkgate Market for a taste of New York in Leeds.

For the glamorous mum

If your mum is a fiend for pretty, shiny things, kick things up a notch and take her to get matching permanent bracelets. The ‘forever’ bracelet is one of the biggest jewellery trends at the moment with the choice of a range of chains to be welded into various types of jewellery (not just bracelets).

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) — After the mass shooting at Young Park in Las Cruces that left three dead and 15 injured, Las Cruces Public Schools and parents are taking precautions to keep their kids safe.

Four suspects have been arrested for the shooting, including one 15-year-old, two 17-year-olds, and 20-year-old Tomas Rivas, who LCPS confirms is a former student of the district.

Being that a majority of the suspects and the victims who died were teenagers, parents fear that their kids are in danger and hope other parents make sure they know what their children are up to.

With students returning to schools from spring break on Monday, LCPS says they’re prioritizing students’ safety, as well as their emotional well-being as many of them might be grieving.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic mass shooting that occurred at Young Park [Friday] night, allegedly involving current and possibly former students from our community. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this devastating incident.,” said Samantha Lewis, an LCPS spokesperson.

ABC-7 spoke with 20-year-old Josh Lozano, a former student of Centennial High School — which is where 16-year-old Andrew “A.J.” Madrid attended, who died on the scene.

Lozano’s mother, Brittney Amador said her youngest son played baseball with Madrid.

They recently moved away from Las Cruces, where she began to feel unsafe.

“It makes me sad,” Amador said. “It makes me sad knowing that, you know, if we still lived here, my boys would have been here. They would have been here at this meet, they’d been to meets previously before.”

Amador said she thinks that children nowadays react quickly with violence, worried about her own kids every time they leave the house.

“We raise our kids the way that we feel best, there’s not a handbook that shows you the correct way to raise them, but they make choices, and I just hope that my kids always make the best choice,” she said. “So when every day when they go to school, it’s taking a chance. You take a chance, any time they walk out the door, any time you walk out the door, the next day is not given.”

LCPS also told ABC-7 that they are implementing their Crisis Response Team on campuses to provide support, along with more counselors and social workers.

She also said their school-based health centers will be available to provide mental health support.  

LCPS has also assigned School Resource Officers assigned to every middle and high school in the district, with access to their 25 elementary schools.

This goes along with the district’s recent installation an advanced weapons detection systems to identify potential threats. They placed at key entry points in designated schools. 

As of last month, they’ve installed the detection systems in Lynn Community Middle School, Sierra Middle School, Organ Mountain High School, Picacho Middle School and Vista Middle School. 

They plan to install them in all middle and high schools. 

Police have yet to reveal the name of the juveniles arrested.

He was also made to wear what looked like a woollen cap. Ed was seen kissing Amy on her cheek, and one of the snaps also showed the couple holding Oscar’s hand. Amy was also seen giving her infant a sweet kiss and they shared the note with the caption:

“Welcome to the world, baby boy. Oscar Alexander Westwick.”

Netizens are happy as Ed a.k.a Chunk Bass became a dad

Amy and Ed’s fans were on cloud nine when they came to know that the couple was blessed with Oscar. Their fans started showing love on the pair and users loved the name Oscar. One user on Instagram wrote, “Imagine being born and finding that your father is the Chuck Bass.” Another one wrote, “The perfect name mini Chuck Bass”. A user also opined, “Congratulations! Enjoy this special time and all of these first moments together with your son! I’m so happy for you and it’s just amazing to see what a happy family you are! I wish you all the best!”

Did you know Mother Angelica’s “special day” was the feast of the Annunciation?

On March 25, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of the Annunciation, which commemorates the day the Angel Gabriel announced to the Blessed Mother that she would bear Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, in her womb. 

Mother Angelica’s full religious name was Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation, PCPA.

In this March 24, 1998, episode of “Mother Angelica Live Classics,” the EWTN foundress explains the unexpected way she received her “name day,” which is the day a nun celebrates their religious name.

“It’s a very, very special name day for me,” Mother Angelica says.

She explains that even though her name is Angelica, her abbess declared that her name day should be on the feast of the Annunciation.

“I thought—Wow! I was so surprised and pleased because I had made the consecration to Our Lady—the De Montfort consecration—on March 25th, 1942. I entered the convent in 1944. So March 25th was already a very special day for me.”

Here’s the full text of Mother Angelica’s “Name Day” story:

“Tomorrow is the 25th of March. What do you know about that? It’s the Feast of the Annunciation. It also happens to be my name day. I don’t know how my abbess ever decided on that, but she did. It’s a very, very special name day for me. 

“Ordinarily, in a religious order—especially a monastic one—your name day is celebrated on the feast of the saint or event your name is associated with. For example, if your name is Isidore, your name day would be on the Feast of Saint Isidore. 

Now, my name is Angelica, so it should have been the Feast of the Holy Angels, which is in October. 

But one day, my abbess called me in. And I thought, ‘Oh no, they’re going to send me home again.’ They had almost sent me home five times already, and the reason was that my knees were swollen—like little grapefruits. In those days, if you couldn’t kneel, they believed you didn’t have a vocation. You were supposed to become a postulant in six months, but for me, it took 15 months. So, there I was, thinking I was about to be sent away again. 

“But all she said to me was, “I’ve decided that your name day will be the Annunciation.” And I thought—Wow! I was so surprised and pleased because I had made the consecration to Our Lady—the De Montfort consecration—on March 25th, 1942. I entered the convent in 1944. So March 25th was already a very special day for me. You know, so often we let special days pass by simply because we don’t know they’re special.”
