  • Stabbed To Death After Fleeing Domestic Violence Relationship

On 27th December 2010 I arrived back from the Next Sale forgetting to buy my husband paracetamol for his headache on the way home. It caused him to lose his temper in-front of my two daughters & three step-daughters…by this point we had been together for ten years and it was a familiar scene…that day I left, like I had done so many times before, only when I arrived at my mums this time I called the police.

Two officers arrived and watched my husband frantically circle my mums flat in his car & they listened to the constant voicemails where he screamed “Why are the police there? Why are you talking to the fucking police? Think about what you’re doing”.

They then heard the voicemails change to him sounding calm and rational saying “Come on baby. It’s a row. Just come home. I love you”….

If it hadn’t have been for the patience and time those police officers gave me that day I wouldn’t have made that statement. I wouldn’t have been honest when I answered their Domestic abuse risk assessment and I wouldn’t have agreed to let them be present at my marital home as I cleared out my belongings.

And as my family and friends helped me clear out mine & my babies clothes I listened to him tell me he was sorry, in front of those Police officers. I listened to him tell me he would change this time and as he begged and his tears came I wondered if I was making a mistake – but those officers and that support network reminded me why I had made the choice I had.

Afterwards the threats & abuse started – and some were carried out. My mum got investigated for benefit fraud, he attempted to destroy one of my siblings marriages with false accusations of infidelity, every single one of my friends were paid visits – my best friend saw him outside her house with a baseball bat in his hand, my car was keyed, my Managing Director walked into my workplace with our dog which he had found tied up outside & I was repeatedly assessed by social services for child neglect and abuse.

I was stalked – he followed me in his friends cars so I wouldn’t recognise him and he hid in bushes outside my new home.

And after the threats and abuse came the apologies and false promises….most of the above my eldest daughter saw and still remembers….

…..and that cycle of abuse was as intense when I left that marriage as when I was when I was in it….and I was frightened. There were times I considered going back for an ‘easier life’ and there were times I accepted that I’d just be controlled forever.

Today I’ve spoken to the mum of the stunning girl in this post.

    Faye.

She was a thirty year old mum of three beautiful little girls…she left her husband after years of Domestic abuse. She had left him many times before – only this time it was for good..and as she got stronger being away from him he saw he was losing control.

On Saturday 28th April he stabbed Faye to death.

Her mum will now try somehow and continue to live without her daughter, her friends and family are left destroyed and one day her babies will learn that their Mummy died under the most horrific cruel circumstances.

Right now, this month, seven women be murdered in our country by a current or former partner.

This is the exact reason Domestic abuse needs to be highlighted.

It’s why every agency from our schools to our Police force need a full understanding of Domestic abuse to support men; women and children to leave and remain safe.

Faye – I am so sorry – I am devastated we have lost another mum, friend, daughter – another amazing woman who should be waking up tomorrow to do the school run.

Please help smash the target here to somehow help towards Faye’s babies futures: https://www.gofundme.com/5hkcti0

  • Balloons Do Not Go To Heaven

Balloons do not go to heaven. They land in the ocean and choke sea turtles, kill dolphins, whales and fish, and the ribbons entangle birds of all sizes. Many times, they end up on a beach as litter. Even the ones marked “biodegradable” can hurt animals before they have a chance to break down. Animals far from the ocean, such as horses, have been hurt and killed by balloons (they eat them when they land in their hay or they get spooked and bolt). Some balloons have even started fires when they got entangled in power lines.

Balloons Do Not Go To Heaven

Sky lanterns have set homes, power lines, trees, and buildings on fire. Sky lanterns can also entangle an animal even if it is marketed as “biodegradable.” There are many safe alternatives to releasing litter into the air, such as planting a tree for your loved one and watching it bloom, or blowing bubbles into the air. Grief is a painful process. In our grief, we do not need to cause others grief. While there are many environmental problems facing our planet, this is a very simple one to solve, please think before you release anything into the sky.

  • Pretty Much Dead From The Moment They Walked In

    The shelter manager’s letter:

“I am posting this (and it is long) because I think our society needs a huge wake-up call.

As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all – a view from the inside, if you will.

Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes, you would change your mind about breeding and selling to people you don’t even know – that puppy you just sold will most likely end up in my shelter when it’s not a cute little puppy anymore.

How would you feel if you knew that there’s about a 90% chance that dog will never walk out of the shelter it is going to be dumped at – purebred or not! About 50% of all of the dogs that are “owner surrenders” or “strays” that come into my shelter are purebred dogs.

    No shortage of excuses

The most common excuses I hear are:

We are moving and we can’t take our dog (or cat).

Really? Where are you moving to that doesn’t allow pets?

The dog got bigger than we thought it would.

How big did you think a German Shepherd would get?

We don’t have time for her.

Really? I work a 10-12 hour day and still have time for my 6 dogs!

    She’s tearing up our garden.

How about bringing her inside, making her a part of your family?

    They always tell me:

We just don’t want to have to stress about finding a place for her. We know she’ll get adopted – she’s a good dog. Odds are your pet won’t get adopted, and how stressful do you think being in a shelter is?

Well, let me tell you. Dead pet walking!

Your pet has 72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off, sometimes a little longer if the shelter isn’t full and your dog manages to stay completely healthy.

    If it sniffles, it dies.

Your pet will be confined to a small run / kennel in a room with about 25 other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve itself where it eats and sleeps. It will be depressed and it will cry constantly for the family that abandoned it.

If your pet is lucky, I will have enough volunteers that day to take him / her for a walk. If I don’t, your pet won’t get any attention besides having a bowl of food slid under the kennel door and the waste sprayed out of its pen with a high-powered hose.

If your dog is big, black or any of the “bully” breeds (pit bull, rottweiler, mastiff, etc) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through the front door. Those dogs just don’t get adopted.

If your dog doesn’t get adopted within its 72 hours and the shelter is full, it will be destroyed.

If the shelter isn’t full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable enough breed, it may get a stay of execution, though not for long. Most pets get very kennel protective after about a week and are destroyed for showing aggression. Even the sweetest dogs will turn in this environment.

If your pet makes it over all of those hurdles, chances are it will get kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection and will be destroyed because shelters just don’t have the funds to pay for even a £100 treatment.

    The grim reaper

Here’s a little euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed a perfectly healthy, scared animal being “put-down”.

First, your pet will be taken from its kennel on a leash. They always look like they think they are going for a walk – happy, wagging their tails. That is, until they get to “The Room”.

Every one of them freaks out and puts on the breaks when we get to the door. It must smell like death, or they can feel the sad souls that are left in there. It’s strange, but it happens with every one of them. Your dog or cat will be restrained, held down by 1 or 2 vet techs (depending on their size and how freaked out they are). A euthanasia tech or a vet will start the process. They find a vein in the front leg and inject a lethal dose of the “pink stuff”. Hopefully your pet doesn’t panic from being restrained and jerk its leg. I’ve seen the needles tear out of a leg and been covered with the resulting blood, and been deafened by the yelps and screams.

They all don’t just “go to sleep” – sometimes they spasm for a while, gasp for air and defecate on themselves.

When it all ends, your pet’s corpse will be stacked like firewood in a large freezer in the back, with all of the other animals that were killed, waiting to be picked up like garbage.

What happens next? Cremated? Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? You’ll never know, and it probably won’t even cross your mind. It was just an animal, and you can always buy another one, right?

Liberty, freedom and justice for all

I hope that those of you that have read this are bawling your eyes out and can’t get the pictures out of your head. I do everyday on the way home from work. I hate my job, I hate that it exists and I hate that it will always be there unless people make some changes and realize that the lives you are affecting go much farther than the pets you dump at a shelter.

Between 9 and 11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters and only you can stop it. I do my best to save every life I can but rescues are always full, and there are more animals coming in everyday than there are homes.

My point to all of this is DON’T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!

Hate me if you want to – the truth hurts and reality is what it is.

I just hope I maybe changed one person’s mind about breeding their dog, taking their loving pet to a shelter, or buying a dog. I hope that someone will walk into my shelter and say “I saw this thing on Facebook and it made me want to adopt”.

That would make it all worth it.”

  • Never Drink Out Of A Fizzy Drink Can/Tin

On Sunday the 1st of April 2018 , we had a family picnic, some brought with thema a few drinks in cans, like Fanta, coke and monster energy drinks.

However, on Monday, two family members( who joined the picnic) were admitted to hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit space. One died on the following Wednesday.

Autopsy results concluded it hit Leptospirosis. The bacteria, known as LEPTOSPIRA interrogans, is stuck to the tin cans, and were drunk, without the use of glasses, cups or sip straws. Test results showed that the soda tin was infected from mice urine, and that had dried, the mice’ urine containing Leptospirosis.

It is highly recommended to rinse the parts evenly on all soda/beer cans before drinking it. Cans are usually stored in the warehouse and delivered direct to retail stores without cleaning.

A study has shown that the top of all beverage cans are more contaminated than public toilets (full of germs and bacteria.)

So, clean it with water before putting it to your mouth in order to avoid contamination.

Signs and symptoms can range from none to mild such as headaches, muscle pains, and fevers; to severe with bleeding from the lungs or meningitis. If the infection causes the person to turn yellow, have kidney failure and bleeding, it is then known as Weil’s disease. If it also causes bleeding into the lungs then it is known as severe pulmonary hemorrhage syndrome.

It is transmitted by both wild and domestic animals. The most common animals that spread the disease are rodents. It is often transmitted by animal urine or by water or soil containing animal urine coming into contact with breaks in the skin, eyes, mouth, or nose.

Just give those tins a wipe over before placing to your mouth, or pour into a clean glass.

  • Basildon Hospital Killed My Nephew

Hannah Baines-Docherty has taken to Facebook to beg for help in getting justice for her baby nephew.

Docerty said: Basildon hospital we are coming for you On the 21st of December my nephew Marni-lee was born. How excited we were to welcome a new baby boy in our family. We trusted Basildon hospital to take care of him and my sister Macey. Little did we know the best day of my sister’s life turned into an absolute nightmare. My sister had SERVERE preeclampsia which they failed to treat or notice. We later discovered they put down she had moderate preeclampsia!

When you have this when pregnant it needs to be treated Immediately, they failed this, with the doctors saying to leave my heavily pregnant sister another WEEK untreated. The day my sister gave birth they rushed her down to have an emergency c-section which we discovered she has TWO scars instead of the one, which we was never told about until we noticed. They told us our baby Marni was brain-dead when born with my sister still on morphine and asleep.

    Basildon Hospital Killed My Nephew
    Basildon Hospital Killed My Nephew

They told us he had hours to live and was put on a life support machine. The only way our precious boy would survive would be if he went to A special London hospital. Which we were told he would not make it there. After 2 hours they gave up and took Marni Lee off the life support machine. He survived 15 hours off the life support machine! Begging for them to get him transferred to the hospital we got told NO! How can this happen? He has survived so long with out the life support machine why wouldn’t they do this??? At least try!

On the 22nd December Marni Lee died in my mother in-laws arms. My sister got transferred to a hospital with them telling us he died due to her having ASUS which she NEVER had! Recently they have had a meeting with Basildon hospital with them ADMITTING if they would have took Marni out of my sister half hour earlier he would still be with us today, also got told there was no reason why he should have died and that he was a heathy little boy.

They have put in my sisters records she had a kidney scan which SHE DID NOT HAVE! No family should have to go through this, they left my sister in a room with her dying son and let her deal with it. Please share this so other people are aware of this hospital. We will NOT give up until we have justice for our baby Marni-Lee ❤

  • Horse Racing Should Be Banned?

Andy McGeever has taken to Facebook to share his disgust and hatred for horse racing and the effects on the poor horses.

McGeevers said  This is the price they pay. This is Sandsend breaking his left foreleg on the flat in today’s race at Cheltenham. You can clearly see the shoe pointing skyward in this picture. This is the true horror of horse racing. #racedtodeath #youbettheydie

Six horses died at the Cheltenham festival this year, authority review is promised is this enough?

The BHA (British horseracing authority)will be reviewing the circumstances leading to the deaths of these innocent harmless creatures at the Cheltenham festival, the BHA says it works with the RSPCA and world horse welfare and is committed to reducing the risk in racing for both horse and jockey.

Horses are four times more likely to die at Cheltenham than at Hexham it has also been revealed that a staggering 1500 horses died on race courses in the last decade, the prize money at Cheltenham goes into the millions of pounds so jockeys, owners and trainers all want the prestige, which may mean they are pushing thehorses to the limit and unnecessary risks are being taken which result in injuries and in some cases the death of the horse.

Andy McGeever has created a group to try to ban horseracing.

  • Another Woman Hurt By The Implant

An unknown woman has taken to social media to warn others about the risks of the implant.

    Females who use birth control:

DO NOT use the Nexplanon implant!!! My daughter had it put in her arm, in the standard location where all are inserted, in August of 2017. Since getting the implant, she has been very sick, has had very high anxiety levels, to the point of having to be put on anti-anxiety medicine, and has lost 15 pounds, which puts her below 100 lbs!!! I finally said to schedule an appointment to have it taken out.

She went in to have it taken out, and the doctor couldn’t find the implant in her arm. (They are usually visible under the skin) They took X-rays and couldn’t find it. They performed ultrasounds and couldn’t find it.

They referred us to a general surgeon, who did a more in-depth sonograms yesterday. He thought he had found it and scheduled an emergency surgery to have it removed this morning. IT WAS THAT URGENT!!! Come to find out, once he opened up her arm, the implant had traveled into the muscle, and was a centimeter from an artery! 😱 had it made its way to the artery, it would have killed her!

It has been removed, and she is recovering and is hoping to start gaining some weight and start feeling better again soon. They had to split her bicep muscle in two though, so she’s going to be sore for a while. I debated on posting this, but feel it is far too important not to share. This is serious enough to kill you, if it travels in your body, to an artery or a lung. Please tell your girlfriends, you moms, your daughters DO NOT USE NEXPLANON!!!

Please feel free to share this post to get the word out.

  • Mini Egg Warning-Parents Take Note

    Mini Egg Warning-Parents Take Note

You’ve all seen the warnings about cutting up grapes before giving them to your children, a lot of schools even place notes in packed lunches if they are not cut the correct way and the meme of how to prepare grapes is forever shared across social media.

With Easter coming up I want to warn you all about another deadly choking hazard, one that tragically took away my child.

It has been just short of three years since my precious little girl Sophie passed away she had choked on a mini egg and I was unable to dislodged it, even with back slaps and pushing up and under her ribs, I had done a first aid course only six months prior to this event so all the techniques to help a choking child were still fresh in my mind but it didn’t help, I watched the light slip away from my babies eyes, I tried in vain to save her.

Sophie was 5 1/2 so not a tiny tot yet this seemingly harmless treat took my angel away.

If your children enjoy these chocolate treats please watch them extra close and remind them to sit down whilst eating them or avoid them altogether.

Since Sophie’s passing I have seen many other parents posting into “mum groups”or their personal Facebook timelines saying their child had also choked on mini eggs, please parents be careful I would hate to know another child had been harmed by these Easter treats, if just one person reads this and watches their toddler, child or teen extra close when eating these my daughter’s death will not be in vain, I would love to have them removed from the shelves but I know this will not happen, but getting parents to be extra vigilant is the best I can do, please watch your babies.
