  • Scam-Beware

Be careful of this phone scam going round, don’t be fooled by their lies.

Just had a telephone call from ‘Microsoft’ saying that our computer had been hacked with something called ‘Events Log’.

She asked me to go up to my pc and turn it on and press various buttons, which I said I was doing, whilst actually googling on my phone ‘Microsoft scam’ just to check. It’s all over the Internet!

If I had let them, they would have taken control of my pc and registered all my information, passwords, keystrokes etc. As soon as I said to her I have been looking on the internet whilst talking to you and I think this is a scam, she immediately hung up.

PHONE NUMBER IS 0018529411977 – lady had Indian accent and asked for me by name. Scary, please share.

If you receive this call do not answer or hang up immediately

  • He’s 10 and Independant

I am raising my child how I choose too.

I want my son to be independent and a social butterfly.

I do not need to be told I am wrong because he is not your child.

My son is 10 he is free to eat what he wants, go where he wants and sleeep when he wants.

Do other parents really have a right to tell me I am wrong?

Today my son travelled 3 miles to a skate park and got himself a McDonald’s at 9am this morning.

I received a call from my son at 1pm to say that parents kept asking where his mother was.

Why ask my son? He was not in trouble or in danger!

Anyway he arrived home at 4 and was visibly upset that these so called parents had threatened to contact social services, because he was unsupervised and looked unkept.

Come on seriously why would he put on good clothes to go to a skate park.

So please keep your words to yourself, my child my choice.

  • Just A Viral Infection?

Out of the blue Lilly got a high temperature after being fine all day. I had a feeling something wasn’t right as Calpol wasn’t bringing her temperature down.

I decided to take her to an out of hours GP, and, after seeing a doctor, Lilly was sent home, diagnosed with a virus.
I stayed next to her all night monitoring her temperature. The next morning Lilly was moaning and crying and just wanted to be cuddled.

I put her down for a nap and when she woke up an hour later she just looked at me as if to say ‘help me mummy’.

At that point I picked her up out of her cot and she vomited everywhere; I’ve never seen so much sick come from a baby.

I dressed her in a babygrow and put her straight in the car and we drove back up to the GP surgery, next to A & E, where I ran in with her and demanded to be seen straight away.

A triage nurse saw us straight away and called for a senior nurse. After taking a few observations the senior nurse took us straight round to A & E, and we were rushed into paediatrics, where they tried to locate Lilly’s veins so they could extract blood and administer fluid as she was very dehydrated from being so sick.

When they were unable to find any veins they needed to drill into her shins. Traumatic as this was it was necessary to save her life.

Once they stabilised Lilly they admitted her to a ward where she had a lumbar punch to confirm meningitis.

After seven days on the ward, countless needles, blood tests, antibiotics and steroids our baby girl was discharged having made a full recovery.

She is now a beautiful, cheeky three-year- old with normal development and no apparent lasting damage.

  • Molar Pregnancy-Have you heard of it?

Easter Saturday 2012, we got those 2 blue lines we had been trying over a year for and we’re completely over the moon!

I phoned my doctors and made an appointment, and told our immediate family, in our excitement we even naively started to buy odd little clothes as we saw them.

As the weeks went on I got very big very quickly, I was so ill, I remember when I couldn’t get out of bed mum saying, and I quote ‘its good you feel so sick, it means everything’s going well.’ I knew to expect to be tired but this was something else, and so battled on, after all I wasn’t the first person to ever be pregnant!

We became convinced that we were some weeks ahead or having twins due to the size of my stomach! Booking appointment with the midwife and bloods all fine….

24th May 2012, we had moved into our new house the day before and woke up bright and early for our first scan, supposedly 12 weeks, I remember sitting feeling so ill but never  thought anything would be wrong, my name was called.

She began rubbing the cold jelly onto my belly, it felt like forever before she said she couldn’t find a pregnancy and wanted to do an internal scan as I may not be far along, we knew this was not possible!

After what seemed like a lifetime we were taken to a ‘comfy’ side room. The next few hours were a blur. I remember the words “no baby” “mass of tissue” “surgery” and “chemo”. Within 2 hours I was in surgery having a d&c, nothing had sunk in, as far as I was concerned I was in surgery having my baby removed.

It wasn’t until I had come round it was explained to me that there was no baby. When a sperm meets an egg but there is an imbalance in genetic material it becomes a molar pregnancy, sometimes there is a foetus that cannot survive- a partial molar, and others there is no foetus at all- a complete molar.

The body produces HCG in very high levels giving off very strong pregnancy symptoms, hence the severe sickness, so for 12 weeks I had been ‘pregnant’ but was now grieving for a baby that didn’t exist. My head was in a right mess!

It was then explained that sometimes the tissue can start to regrow so I would need my hcg levels monitored by the specialists at charring cross hospital in London and if the levels didn’t come down as they should there was a possibility of needing chemotherapy.

I was one of the lucky ones, although I became very ill and spent a week in charring cross ready to start treatment, I never needed it. My levels lowered on their own. After weekly and monthly blood and urine tests confirmed there was no longer any HCG in my system, we then had to wait another 6 months to try to conceive again. That felt like forever, being told you can’t try for the one thing you want most of all.

Molar pregnancies are very rare, but after having one you have higher chance of having another so all future pregnancies need monitoring, I went on to miscarry after this but now have 2 happy, healthy, gorgeous boys!

    Please don’t give up hope!

  • Would You buy this?

Would you buy these for your child?

Do you think they’re a good idea?

    Do you like the design?

Petit Pli creates the most advanced technical children’s clothing in the world. All from the ground up. Children grow 7 sizes in their first 2 years on Earth and this equates to a lot of wasted clothing. Petit Pli’s versatile waterproof shells are pleated in such a way that they can grow bi-directionally to custom fit a range of sizes. The continuous size adjustment is a new way of approaching garment design, one suitable to high growth rates and discrepancies in children’s sizes. Petit Pli uses technical materials that are ultra-lightweight, waterproof and breathable because children are extreme athletes.

    They grow with child

Petit Pli garments grow up to 7 sizes. This equates to 7 times less waste than traditional garments.
    Tops and trousers are available

  • Is This Doll Inappropriate?

Would you be upset/offended if you bought a Doll like this and it didn’t have a warning on the box?

    Scroll down for picture

American Shoppers and Internet users alike were surprised to discover the You & Me Mommy Change My Diaper Doll at Toys “R” Us – a doll made anatomically correct for a male baby.

In response to the doll, some Facebook users have called the toy inappropriate and unnecessary for kids.

Others have joked that it’s a unique way to end a “gender reveal” party.

Some parents simply requested that the manufacturer put a warning label on the box.

Now I know my daughter has numerous dolls with male and female genitals and don’t personally have an issue with it, but what’s your view?

Would you buy it knowing it had this?

Would you have liked a warning before hand?

    Is it inappropriate?

    Let’s hear your views

  • Keep The Faith

A year ago tonight at around 2am I tried to kill myself, I had enough after struggling year after year with the black fog that is depression. Thankfully I was unsuccessful.

15 days later me and my girlfriend found out that she was 3 weeks pregnant. 7 months later we had a son who is a week shy of 5 months.

If I had of been successful in taking my life then basically I would be airbrushed out of this photo, I wouldn’t exist. I would have missed out on the best thing that has ever happened to me. That absolutely terrifies me to think about.

While I’m not going to lie there has been dark days since and I’ll always have to face this illness on a daily basis, it’s worth facing, it’s worth dealing with & most importantly it’s worth talking about, that’s what’s kept me alive I think, talking to people I care about & that care about me.

Anyway that’s my story about the past year of my life & for the first time in a long time I’m looking forward to enjoying many more!

    Keep the faith x

  • Do You Work With Any Of These?

    The worst types of colleagues:

In every work place you will have at least one of these colleagues and if you don’t your probably one of them.

    THE FAFFER
The faffer always seems busy but hardly achieves anything, always running around doing things that don’t need doing.

    THE WANNABE BOSS.
You know the type the power crazy person, who likes to tell everyone what to do but actually has no authority

     THE GOSSIPER
I hate the gossiper, you can’t keep anything secret for long around this one, and if they have no juic gossip they will make it up.

    THE CLASSIC BICH
You know the type, the one who is nice to your face but back stabs you at every available moment, and like wise your other colleagues.

    THE BLAMER
This person always messes up but my God it’s never their fault, they constantly pass the blame onto someone else.

    THE MESS.
The colleague who turns up late, forgets things they require to do their job and then leaves early.

THE HOW THE HELL YOU STILL WORK HERE.
This one does sweet FA, constantly lazy, never helps, but some how gets away with it, like seriously get off your arse and help.

    THE SICK NOTE

Yeah we all get ill, some worse than others, but this one will take a day off because their cousins dogs got worms.

    THE LUCKY BREAK
This goes to seniors, managers etc… ones who landed in a job they just aren’t cut out for.                                                                                        They hate you as you know the job better than they do!!

    THE HAPPY ONE
Ok maybe they shouldn’t be on the worst types of colleagues list, but how can you be so damn happy to be at work, I’m angry that you’re happy here, it’s like hell on Earth.
