  • For Couples Eager To Call It Quits

For couples so eager to call it quits after the infatuation wears off, to throw in the towel on your relationship because everything isn’t ‘perfect’…

here is some food for thought…..

Lifelong commitment is not what most people think it is. It’s not waking up every morning to make breakfast and eat together. It’s not cuddling in bed until both of you fall asleep. It’s not a clean home, filled with laughter and love making every day…..

It’s someone who steals all the covers, and snores, it’s slammed doors and some harsh words at times.

It’s stubbornly disagreeing and giving each other the silent treatment until your hearts heal, and then offering forgiveness and being forgiven.

It’s coming home to the same person every day that you know loves and cares about you in spite of, and because of, who you are.

It’s laughing about the one time (many times) you accidentally did something stupid. It’s about dirty laundry and unmade beds. It’s about helping each other with the hard work of life.

It’s about swallowing the nagging words instead of saying them out loud. It’s about eating the easiest meal you can make and sitting down together at a late hour because you both had a crazy day.

It’s when you have an emotional breakdown and your love lays down with you and holds you, and tells you everything is going to be okay….. And you believe them 💜

It’s about still loving someone even though sometimes they make you absolutely insane.

Loving someone isn’t always easy, sometimes it’s hard. But it is amazing and comforting and one of the best things you will ever experience 💙💛💜❤️💚

  • My Friend Died Because Of One Person

I hate getting shots. But I owe it to James.

My friend James died last week of cystic fibrosis. He was the toughest sonofagun I’ve ever known. He got his first double lung transplant when he was in his 20s and those lungs kept him alive for more than a decade. He fell in love, got married, and had a son.

Last winter he got the flu. He couldn’t get a flu shot because he was immunocompromised, so he was counting on the rest of us to keep him healthy. Someone didn’t get that shot, got the flu, exposed James, and he got sick.

The flu was so bad that his lungs began to fail. But being the lucky, amazing, walking, fighting miracle that he is, he was able to get a second lung transplant last spring. The procedure was more complicated, though, and his body began rejecting his new lungs. He fought as long and as hard as he could to stay alive.

He died last week and leaves behind a wife, a 3 year old son, and a world full of friends who miss him deeply.

Thanks to organ donation, James lived another 15 years. And thanks to folks getting vaccinations, we were all able to keep him healthy for so long.

Get your flu shot, y’all. It might hurt, but it doesn’t hurt nearly as much as losing someone you love.

  • What’s Going On With Our Nursery Rhymes

WHAT’S GOING ON WITH OUR NURSERY RHYMES 🤭

Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are,

Well actually I don’t because I’ve just sang that you are a star. You can’t be a diamond in the sky because you are a STAR

In fact you are probably not even a star anymore, you probably burnt out years ago.

If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.

But if you clap your hands every time you are happy, you are gonna look well weird, and if you’re not sectioned then someone may throw you a fish.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,

All the kings horses and all the kings men,

Hang on a minute. An egg falling off a wall is now a matter of national security. They got nothing better to do? No wonder our country is going down hill if we are crying over a cracked egg that should have been in the bloody fridge anyway, not sitting in the sun on a wall. Salmonella!!

Hickorie dickorie dock, the mouse ran up the clock,

Well call the pest control if you have mice running round your house. So unhygienic especially with kids.

Three blind mice, see how they run, they all run after the farmer wife, who cut off their tails with a carving knife …

So many things wrong here, firstly how do they know the mice are blind. I wasn’t aware there was ophthalmology for rodents and if they are running after someone in particular then they must be able to see her.

And if said mice were blind, then why would you cut their tails off too. Double whammy. There has to be some sort of animal rights protest about this. And note to self, don’t have a roast that the farmers wife has made unless she’s cleaned her knives.

The Grand old Duke of York, he had ten thousand men, he marched them up to the top of the hill and he marched them down again.

Great! So when our soldiers are called to war, all they will know how to do is march, they will probably be knackered, but they could answer some questions on positional language of a hill. Screwed.

Old King Cole, Was a merry old soul,

    And a merry old soul was he;

    So was he drunk?

    He called for his pipe,

And he called for his bowl,

And he called for his fiddlers three!

And every fiddler, he had a fine fiddle,

And a very fine fiddle had he.

I have no words, this is so inappropriate, this guy would well have been arrested and questioned.

Incy wincy spider climbed up the water spout, down came the rain n washed the spider out.

The end. The spider drowned. And if it didn’t I’ve just walloped it with my shoe, so it Defo won’t be climbing anywhere again

  • Is Our Daughter Out There In The Cold Waiting For Us To Find Her?

8 calendar months. Spring gone, summer gone and now autum approaches. To say we feel bleak today is an understatement. Winter blues seem a small worry compared to the worry we have carried as a family for the past 8 months. Yet it adds to our depression anyway.

Is our daughter out there in the cold and rain waiting for us to find her? Is she ever going to be found?

We would like to thank the amazing lady who contacted the police regarding the stewartby hoodie. Hopefully she is the first piece of the puzzle.

Hopefully others follow her lead and come forward.

Someone moved the hoodie from the tree.

    Someone else saw it.

Someone maybe saw who put it there.

    Someone maybe saw our Leah.

Please speak up. Please come forward. We need you.

Thank you to our colleagues who continue who place posters around the country whilst on their annual leave. Thank you to family who spend their weekends doing the same. Thank you to the people of Blackpool who have taken Leah’s posters and displayed them in their homes, cars and chip shops.

Thank you to those of you kind enough to share this post and the many other posts already shared.

Thank you to those of you who have not given up on us and for not kicking us when we are down.

    #Comehomeleah

    Leah darling,

We miss you. We love you. We want you safe. Come back to us xxxxxxxx

  • I Am A Woman So What?

    WHOEVER WROTE THIS

    SHOULD BE GIVEN AN

    AWARD!!!

    I AM A WOMAN!!!

    So what?

    I get into an argument

with a man, he slaps me,

I feel the pain, yet they

tell me I provoked him. I

    should have been quiet, I

    should have been patient.

    I should apologize to him.

    I get into an argument

with a man, I slap him,

they tell me I have no

    respect, no home

    training. I should have

    been quiet, I should have

    been patient. I should

    apologize to him.

    Because I am a woman, I

don’t have a right to be

    angry. So, the degree of

    my innocence is directly

    proportional to the

    degree of my silence in

    the face of oppression

    and brutality…..

    Because I am a woman,

    my husband cheats on

me, I am told to tolerate it

    to save my marriage. The

    barbaric and stupid

excuse is that ”it is in

    their nature to cheat, I

    should slim down, dress

    better, cook better, pray

    harder and be more

    pleasant to him”

    I cheat, and I am called a

    whore, I have committed

    an abomination, I have no

    right to look elsewhere

    for the love and

    emotional support I lack

    at home, I am an

    irresponsible mother.

    So I am sent packing,

    from the home we both

    built, with all my earthly

    possessions stuffed into

a tiny box on my head. I

    am henceforth forbidden

    from seeing my two older

    children, I’m lucky to be

    allowed to go with my

    little one still suckling on

    my left breast. Three

    years later, the little one

    is tagged a bastard. Now,

    my new name is “after-

    three”, because I am a

    woman.

He is 28 and runs a

    company. He’s tagged

    wonderful, hardworking,

    focused, career oriented,

    successful at a very

    young age.

    I am 28 and I run a

    company “Hmmmm….

    she is not even married,

    unserious, can not order

    her priorities right, a

    hustler, loves money, let

her go and get a husband

    oh”

    And I wonder if being

    successful has anything

    to do with a person’s

    gender.

    Because I am a woman,

I am not allowed to have

wits or be a prodigy, I

    cannot be financially

    buoyant, professionally

    successful or be treated

    with respect without a

    man beside me.

    Then I am tagged a

    generous leg opener, “a

    runs girl”. They never see

    the possibility that I

    actually had to go

    through ups and downs

to get to where I am,

    because I am a woman.

A man looses his wife to

    death and remarries a

year after, he did the right

    thing, he’s being praised

    and congratulated for

moving on, after all life is

    for the living.

    A woman looses her

    husband to death and

    remarries after 4yrs,

    “aaah! so early? Are u

    sure she wasn’t sleeping

    with that man even when

    her husband was alive?

    That was why she killed

    her husband. She’s a

    witch! Because she’s a

    woman.

    Because I am a woman,

    this post will be

    considered controversial,

    and everyone will try to

    correct me. But don’t

forget, that I am a woman

and it does not make me

    less human!!!

    Share to respect some

    woman and Tell your

    woman that you love

    her

    : *Who is a

    woman?????*

    When she is quiet,

    millions of things are

    running through her

    mind. When she stares at

    you, she is wondering

    why she loves you so

    much in spite of being

    taken for granted. When

she says I will stand by

you, she will stand by you

    like a solid rock. Never

hurt her or take her for

    granted. A very heart

    touching message by a

    woman. Someone asked

    her, Are you a working

    woman or a housewife?

She replied: Yes, I am a

    full-time working

    housewife. I work 24

    hours a day. I’m a Mum.

    I’m a Wife. I’m a

    Daughter. I’m a Daughter-

    in-law. I’m an Alarm

    clock. I’m a Cook. I’m a

    Maid. I’m a Teacher. I’m a

    Waitress. I’m a Nanny.

    I’m a Nurse. I’m a

    Handywoman. I’m a

    Security officer. I’m a

    Counsellor. I’m a

    Comforter. I don’t get

    holidays. I don’t get sick

    leave. I don’t get day off. I

    work through day and

night. I’m on call all hours

    and get paid with a

    sentence. “What Do U Do

    All Day??” This Is

    Dedicated to all

    women*** A Woman has

    the most unique

    character like salt! Her

    presence is never

    remembered, but her

    absence makes all the

    things tasteless. Pass it

    to all the lovely ladies…Ur

    Mother. Ur Wife. Ur

    daughter. Ur sister & Ur

    friend.

    Forward to every woman

to make her smile and to

    every man to make him

    realize a woman’s worth.

  • I Was Going To Be Induced And He Was Angry

The morning I was going to be induced, he was angry with me. He was angry that I preferred his mother not to be in the delivery room. He raised his voice at me, and made me cry. I stood my ground, did my make up, and we went to the hospital.

That morning shouldn’t have been that way. The day I gave birth, he never once told me I did a good job, he never once told me I was beautiful after watching me give birth to his first born child. The day after I gave birth, my body was in a lot of pain, but he never once asked me how I felt.

He was angry with me again, for something so small I couldn’t remember if I tried. He will claim I’m a liar. He tries to get into my head and make me believe everything went wrong because of me. Sometimes I get close to believing it, but then I just remember the truth of it all.

This has been a really bad experience with some one but I wouldn’t take it back. I love my daughter and she is worth it all. I always get so happy to see other women with good men by their side. I watched my sister go through the pain and loneliness of not having a good guy by her side during such a huge time in a woman’s life. It probably made her think she wasn’t good enough, but she is. He is not good enough. Every woman deserves to be cherished and their value should be seen. You should never stay if this is what you are being treated like. It’s not supposed to be like this.

Editing to add: I have left the relationship

  • I Did Not Make A Baby For My Mother To Raise

I DID NOT MAKE A BABY FOR MY MOTHER TO RAISE!

So no you won’t find me at every party every weekend🙅💃

    No I can’t meet up for drinks.🍺🍷🙅

No I can’t go away for a weekend unless I’m able to bring my baby along.🚗🎒👶

This is MY BABY & MY RESPONSIBILITY.💯

And don’t tell me I’m missing out on my youthful days😴😴there will ALWAYS be another party to attend but I’ll never get a another chance to watch my baby take her first step , or see her first smile , or be there to hear her say her first word.🗣😍

I’ll rather lose all my friends than to lose out on being a great mother to my child. 😊❤

  • Ghost Baby In Bed With My Son

So last night I was positive there was a ghost baby in the bed with my son. I was so freaked out, I barely slept. I even tried creeping in there with a flashlight while my son was sleeping. Well, this morning I go to investigate a bit further. It turns out my husband just forgot to put the mattress protector on when he changed the sheets 😂😂 I could kill him.

  • Orca Who Died A Horrible Death At SeaWorld

Remembering Kasatka, an Icelandic captured orca who died a horrible death after a miserable ‘life’ at SeaWorld a little over 2 years ago.

On October 26, 1978 she was abducted from her family when she about 1 year old alongside her pod-mate Katina, who was 3 years old. They were sold to SeaWorld and sent to San Diego, California that same month. For 4 years, they lived together, but the two were separated in 1984 when Katina was shipped to SeaWorld Orlando, where she remains imprisoned today.

Kasatka was moved from Iceland to SeaWorld park after SeaWorld park – 16 times within 12 years.

Pictures of Kasatka rotting to death in an overcrowded, chlorinated treated concrete tank at SeaWorld San Diego began surfacing in July, 2017.

This poor soul was undoubtably in a lot of pain before she died.

They Euthanized her on August 16, 2017. Kasatka had been suffering from a bacterial lung infection since at least 2008 and her ailing body was covered in lesions before her death. Even though she was sick and on medication, SeaWorld artificially inseminated Kasatka again in 2011 and forced her to bear a fourth calf for the parks to exploit.

Never before has SeaWorld come out and said they euthanized one of their orcas. Not even Tilikum — who was suffering incredibly for at least a decade in his tiny tank.

Not one of their killer whales has ever died of old age. They all die because #CaptivityKills. 8 killer whales have died under “world-class care” since 2010 at SeaWorld, not including stillbirths. 3 in less than a year in 2017 including Tilikum of a ‘super virus’ and 3 month old Kyara of pneumonia.

SeaWorld has been asked many times by PhD marine biologists to share her bloodwork, necropsy, and make public the disease or infection she had. But they did not and will not, which is no surprise, because they never tell the truth about what’s really going on there.

Whether her illness was bacterial or fungal will never be known and is slightly irrelevant, she was eaten alive by opportunistic pathogens in captivity.

This is the same whale that we posted about a few days ago who nearly drown her trainer, Ken Peters. She has a list of incidents that involves her grabbing her trainers.

In case you missed it; here is the informative and poignant blog on Kasatka by Voice of the Orcas – former SW trainers and whistleblowers, Dr. Jeffrey Ventre and Samantha Berg, both featured in Blackfish: http://voiceoftheorcas.blogspot.com/2017/07/kasatkas-impending-death-has-seaworld.html?m=1

  • My Baby Boy Jude Died Here

Six years ago we spent Thanksgiving weekend getting ready for two more people to join our family. We had no idea then who was coming, the wonderful chaos that would be Thomas and Jude. All we knew was how happy, grateful, thankful we were.

Soon this room was filled with two little boys. Sleepless nights, cries, diaper changes, laughter, toddler babble, and love.

Three and a half years ago Jude died here.

Somehow this room has recovered, kind of, despite only containing one bed. One little boy. Half the laughter. Half the chaos. We can exist here. We can sing and play and love, and know that Jude is still part of our lives. But he should still be playing with us, singing with us, causing trouble. He’s not, because three and a half years ago a flu outbreak came through our community and stole his life from him, stole him from us.

The flu is preventable when we all do our part. ~3500 Canadians and ~36,000 Americans die from the flu every single year, but they don’t have to. The flu shot is starting to become available throughout Canada now, and is easily accessible through the US. If you can find it near you, please get it now. Every flu shot might stop the flu from reaching someone who might not survive it. You could save someone’s grandpa, pregnant wife, dad fighting cancer, or Jude. You can do that. That’s everything.

Thanksgiving is complicated for us now. We have a lot to be thankful for, but we’ve also lost a lot. It’s hard. Help us prevent others from being in our shoes. Get your flu shot, stay home when sick, cover coughs and sneezes, and wash your hands at least eight times a day. Whose life could you save?
