  • One Day A Woman Gave Up Everything For The Man She Loved

One day a woman gave up her lucrative career that she loved, worked hard for and excelled at as well as earning millions to be with the man that she loves.

She made the decision, which I am positive was extremely emotional, to pack up her entire life, kiss her loved ones good bye and moved to an entirely different country to be with the man she loves.

She said goodbye to her single mother who raised her on her own and life as she knew it to be with the man she loves.

She gave up any ounce of privacy she had once enjoyed and took on the role gracefully and without hesitation to be with the man she loves.

She is constantly scrutinised, bullied and vilified by the media and is the constant target of relentless racism. The tabloid headlines are vile and sickening to read but the people revel in that kind of hatred toward her but she still shows up, she still smiles for the cameras and she never waivers in her support for her husband. She endures to be with the man she loves.

She chose to carry the baby that both her and her husband wanted, suffering through morning sickness, extreme hormonal changes, aches and pains and all the added risks of pregnancy when under extreme pressure.

She was called too fat, too old and too pretentious for protectively holding her growing belly as she grew a human being inside of her, she knew she would no longer be in control of her own body all the while being called a liar who was faking her pregnancy. All to be with the man she loves.

She went through postpartum anxiety and NEARLY broke down in a public interview, she was not offered love and support from the public instead she was called a drama queen!

Accused of just being a great actor capable of crocodile tears yet, only after years of having her acting abilities scrutinised, but she continued to be the pillar of strength in the public eye and raising her baby boy, to be with the man she loves.

The world never bat an eyelid over everything she gave up. The entire world chewed her up, spat her out and then demanded more.

One day a man said he would not be bullied into playing a game that killed his beloved mum. He and his wife made the choice to put theirs and their childs mental health and well-being first.

That grown man ,who is very capable of making his own choices, decided to give up his career to be with the woman he loves.

And the entire world went mad… 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  • Dearest Harry Go Be You

    Dear Harry,

    Darling Harry.

We have watched you grow from a smiley, cheeky little boy, who adored his mother, his brother and his little trio, to one who quickly had to grow up. Overnight.

We watched , along with the whole world, as your life, your grief and your pain….was blasted all over our television screens.

We watched you walk behind …that…carriage.

We watched you, a little 12 year old boy, be expected to keep up with the men around you, and emotionally cope with what you were being faced with. You had no hand to hold. No arms to bury yourself in. No one wiping away the tears you no doubt desperately wanted to cry.

We watched, little one, as Princess Diana was paraded, slowly, in front of millions. But she wasn’t a Princess to you. She was ‘mummy’. And you suddenly lost the someone who made you smile, laugh, and gave you affection like no other person in your life.

We watched as the world kept turning. But yours stood still.

We watched you struggle as a teenager and young adult with this new reality.

We watched you rebel against the expectations of ‘your lot’.

We watched you just want to be normal. Despite being reminded that you’re not.

We watched you push the boundaries of what a member of the royal family could do. Where they could serve. Who they could be.

We watched as you tried to find fulfillment.

We watched you establish the Invictus Games, so many charities, and help so many gain purpose back in their lives, when you were still struggling to find your own .

We watched as you, finally, found someone warm, caring, happy….someone who, like your mother, wasn’t afraid to show you love and affection in public. She loved you, and she didn’t care who knew it or what people thought.

We watched the press pick her apart.

We watched you hate them for it.

We watched you become a husband infront of millions. A much happier man.

We watched you become a father, and saw how proud you were of your wife and son.

We watched you protect with everything you have – your own little family. We know why: we saw what happened to your mother. We saw. The media is a cruel, heartless beast.

We watched as you found your calling. You found who you are. You found more of Harry. And less of the Prince.

We watched you smile again. A beaming smile. Holding your baby. Holding your wife’s hand.

We watched you be brave. So brave.

    You’ve given us enough.

    You owe us no explanation.

We watched as you got a taste of a more fulfilling, quieter, healthier life.

We watched you shock the world by admitting that, yes, you just wanted to live it.

    As Harry. Meghan. And Archie.

We watched you say, Prince or not- I am also a father, a husband, and a man. Let me be one.

    And so …

We will be watching, proudly, as you go off to start your new chapter. You won’t lose us.

We will be watching, relieved, as you finally get to live your days as YOU choose to. That little boy, with his head down, in his big suit, walking behind his mother’s dead body – that little boy who has had to rebuild his world, do his ‘royal’ duties, and have his mental health dragged through the mud ever since.

We will be watching – as much as YOU decide we can – intrigued as to what you will get up to. Where you’ll be. What. Who.

    Go …. be strong.

    Go …. be happy.

    Go…. Be….You.

    We will be watching.

And so will she ♥️ xxxx

  • This Is Why You Should Say No To Piercing Guns

This is why you should say NO to piercing guns.

Most guns causes a blunt-force trauma that’ll damage your ears. Yes, “back in the days”, we didn’t have this kind of knowledge that we have now. Cartilage does not respond well to the guns and could cause your cartilage to be *shattered* from the trauma.

It’s harder to clean a piercing gun since it cannot be properly sterilized because it’s made of plastic. That can cause risk of infection (since it already harder to heal) and disease transmission.

Why would you want to be pierced with a dull backing of an earring over a sharp, sterilize needle?

It take two weeks to train someone how to use a piercing gun, and it takes 6 months to a year to fully train a piercer the knowledge of proper placements and learning of sterilization of the needles, tapers, jewelry, etc.

We don’t all have the same “standard” ear.

Of course there’s risk with any piercings. Proper technique and aftercare is a biggy. Go to a tattoo shop/piercing shop over going to the mall to Claire’s. Spend your money to properly get your ears pierced by a *professional piercer*.

    Do your research!

    Protect your health!

    Say YES to needles. ☺️

  • Teacher Lies And Says She Loves Them All The Same

Morning everybody……… Are we sitting comfortably?

    Then I’ll begin……………..

As she stood in front of her infants class on the very first day of school, she told the children an untruth. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. However, that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he did not play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. In addition, Teddy could be unpleasant.

It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X’s and then putting a big “F” at the top of his papers.

At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child’s past records and she put Teddy’s off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.

Teddy’s first grade teacher wrote, “Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners… he is a joy to be around..”

His second grade teacher wrote, “Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle.”

His third grade teacher wrote, “His mother’s death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn’t show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren’t taken.”

Teddy’s fourth grade teacher wrote, “Teddy is withdrawn and doesn’t show much interest in school. He doesn’t have many friends and he sometimes sleeps in class.”

By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy’s. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper That he got from a grocery bag Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one-quarter full of perfume.. But she stifled the children’s laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed after school that day just long enough to say, “Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my Mom used to.” After the children left, she cried for at least an hour.

On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children. Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children the same, Teddy became one of her “teacher’s pets..”

A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling* her that she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.

Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in life.

Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he’d stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and favorite teacher he had ever had in his whole life.

Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor’s degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now his name was a little longer…. The letter was signed, Dr Theodore F. Stoddard,

The story does not end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he had met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit at the wedding in the place that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom.

Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. Moreover, she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together.

They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson’s ear, “Thank you Mrs. Thompson for* believing in me. Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference.”

Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, “Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn’t know how to teach until I met you.”

(For you that don’t know, Teddy Stoddard is the Dr. at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines that has the Stoddard Cancer Wing.)

Warm someone’s heart today. . . pass this along. I love this story so very much, I cry every time I read it. Just try to make a difference in someone’s life today? tomorrow? Just “do it”.

Random acts of kindness, I think they call it……..

  • A Silent Tragedy In How We Are Raising Our Children

A Silent Tragedy In How We Are Raising Our Children

    A SILENT TRAGEDY

There is a silent tragedy that is unfolding today in our homes and concerns our most precious jewels: our children.

Our children are in a devastating emotional state! In the last 15 years, researchers have given us increasingly alarming statistics on a sharp and steady increase in childhood mental illness that is now reaching epidemic proportions:

    Statistics do not lie:

    • 1 in 5 children have mental health problems

    • A 43% increase in diagnosed ADHD

    • A 37% increase in adolescent depression has been noted

    • There has been a 200% increase in the suicide rate in children aged 10 to 14

What is happening and what are we doing wrong?

Today’s children are being over-stimulated and over-gifted with material objects, but they are deprived of the fundamentals of a healthy childhood, such as:

    • Emotionally available parents

    • Clearly defined limits

    • Responsibilities

    • Balanced nutrition and adequate sleep

    • Movement in general but especially outdoors

    • Creative play, social interaction, unstructured game opportunities and boredom spaces

Instead, in recent years, children have been filled with:

    • Digitally distracted parents

    • Indulgent and permissive parents who let children “rule the world” and whoever sets the rules

    • A sense of right, of deserving everything without earning it or being responsible for obtaining it

    • Inadequate sleep and unbalanced nutrition

    • A sedentary lifestyle

    • Endless stimulation, technological nannies, instant gratification and absence of boring moments

    What to do?

If we want our children to be happy and healthy individuals, we have to wake up and get back to basics. It is still possible! Many families see immediate improvements after weeks of implementing the following recommendations:

    • Set limits and remember that you are the captain of the ship. Your children will feel more confident knowing that you have control of the helm.

    • Offer children a balanced lifestyle full of what children NEED, not just what they WANT. Don’t be afraid to say “no” to your children if what they want is not what they need.

    • Provide nutritious food and limit junk food.

    • Spend at least one hour a day outdoors doing activities such as cycling, walking, fishing, bird/insect watching

    • Enjoy a daily family dinner without smartphones or distracting technology, let everyone feel valued

    • Play board games as a family or if children are very small for board games, just let the pretend to play it

    • Involve your children in some homework or household chores according to their age (folding clothes, hanging clothes, unpacking food, setting the table, feeding the dog, etc.)

    • Implement a consistent sleep routine to ensure your child gets enough sleep. The schedules will be even more important for school-age children.

    • Teach responsibility and independence. Do not overprotect them against all frustration or mistakes. Misunderstanding will help them build resilience and learn to overcome life’s challenges,

    • Do not carry your children’s backpack, do not carry the homework they forgot, do not peel bananas or peel oranges if they can do it on their own (4-5 years). Instead of giving them the fish, teach them to fish.

    • Teach them to wait and delay gratification.

    • Provide opportunities for “boredom”, since boredom is the moment when creativity awakens. Do not feel responsible for always keeping children entertained.

    • Do not use technology as a cure for boredom, nor offer it at the first second of inactivity.

    • Avoid using technology during meals, in cars, restaurants, shopping centers. Use these moments as opportunities to socialize by training the brains to know how to work when they are in mode: “boredom”

    • Help them create a “bottle of boredom” with activity ideas for when they are bored.

    • Be emotionally available to connect with children and teach them self-regulation and social skills:

    • Turn off the phones at night when children have to go to bed to avoid digital distractions.

    • Become a regulator or emotional trainer for your children. Teach them to recognize and manage their own frustrations and anger.

    • Teach them to greet, to take turns, to share without running out of anything, to say thank you and please, to acknowledge the error and apologize (do not force them), be a model of all those values you instill.

    • Connect emotionally – smile, hug, kiss, tickle, read, dance, jump, play or crawl with them.

I thank you if you share it.

  • Things I Wish I Had Known When My Son Was Diagnosed With Autism

THINGS I WISH I HAD KNOWN WHEN MY SON WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM:

To tackle guilt from the very beginning.

To focus on self-care earlier on.

To make finding peace a priority.

To not judge my beginnings so harshly.

To focus on the good more, even when it was hardest to find.

To stand up for myself sooner.

To realize that the child I have right now is not the child I will have a year from now.

To stop worrying so much about my child. He will be okay because I will make his life okay.

To acknowledge that the goal is not to turn an autistic person into a non-autistic person. The goal is to help an autistic person who struggles, become an autistic person who doesn’t struggle.

That very few people will understand our lives, and that’s okay.

That the biggest critics and givers of advice, know nothing of our struggles.

    To choose my battles carefully.

That it’s not a race against time. Our kids are lifelong learners.

That I am learning too and to give myself some grace.

To not follow blindly when it comes to my son, we are on our own path.

That this can be a very lonely and isolating journey and to look for the helpers.

To spend less time researching how to help my son and instead spend more time playing and interacting with him.

That wanting to give up at times makes you human but refusing to do so makes you a parent.

That I will love this child more than I ever thought humanly possible.

And finally, that I am the lucky one.

  • Stop Don’t Bury That Hamster

As the days draw colder I just wanted to give out a piece of little known information.

Pet hamsters can go into hibernation mode if they get too cold. This can last a few days or even a week. Please don’t just assume your hamster is dead. Whilst in hibernation mode if you stroke or try to move your hamster, they will show small signs of life.

Keep them warm, place a hot water bottle under their bedding, to try and bring them back slowly. They can come round naturally, but still need to keep warm. Provide plenty of food and water.

I have placed my hibernating hamster in a used tissue box, on top of a hot water bottle. I have added a photo. As you can see, at first glance he does look dead. But thankfully he’s not, and with the right care he will be running around his cage again in no time.

We keep our hamster in the sitting room of our house, it’s obviously got a bit too cold in there overnight so we will be moving him elsewhere. Please share with all your hamster loving friends. 🐹

  • I Do Not Help My Wife And Neither Should You

A friend came to my house for coffee, we sat and talked about life. At some point in the conversation, I said, “I’m going to wash the dishes and I’ll be right back.”

He looked at me as if I had told him I was going to build a space rocket. Then he said to me with admiration but a little perplexed: “I’m glad you help your wife, I do not help because when I do, my wife does not praise me. Last week I washed the floor and no thanks.”

I went back to sit with him and explained that I did not “help” my wife. Actually, my wife does not need help, she needs a partner. I am a partner at home and through that society are divided functions, but it is not a “help” to do household chores.

I do not help my wife clean the house because I live here too and I need to clean it too.

I do not help my wife to cook because I also want to eat and I need to cook too.

I do not help my wife wash the dishes after eating because I also use those dishes.

I do not help my wife with her children because they are also my children and my job is to be a father.

I do not help my wife to wash, spread or fold clothes, because the clothes are also mine and my children.

I am not a help at home, I am part of the house. And as for praising, I asked my friend when it was the last time after his wife finished cleaning the house, washing clothes, changing bed sheets, bathing her children, cooking, organizing, etc. You said thank you

But a thank you of the type: Wow, sweetheart !!! You are fantastic!!!

Does that seem absurd to you? Are you looking strange? When you, once in a lifetime, cleaned the floor, you expected in the least, a prize of excellence with great glory … why? You never thought about that, my friend?

Maybe because for you, the macho culture has shown that everything is her job.

Perhaps you have been taught that all this must be done without having to move a finger? Then praise her as you wanted to be praised, in the same way, with the same intensity. Give her a hand, behave like a true companion, not as a guest who only comes to eat, sleep, bathe and satisfy needs … Feel at home. In his house.

The real change of our society begins in our homes, let us teach our sons and daughters the real sense of fellowship! “

  • None Of My Children Have Slept In A Crib

None of my children have ever slept in a crib. I have always proudly co-slept with them and they are welcome in my bed until they outgrow the need. Some benefits of co-sleeping are:

    Encourages independence

While it is commonly believed that co-sleeping will create clingy, dependent children, research proves that the opposite is true. Children who share sleep with their parents develop independence earlier and need less transitional objects because they do not experience separation anxiety. “When a child routinely goes to sleep in the presence of an adult, or with an adult holding her, it’s extremely rare to find thumb sucking or attachment to security objects,” explains Dr. Jay Gordon, author of Good Nights: The Happy Parents’ Guide to the Family Bed.

    Builds self esteem

Children who have grown up in a family bed have increased self-esteem, experience less behavioral problems, are less prone to peer pressure and report more happiness and general satisfaction with life. They are less likely to suffer from stress disorders than children who did not share sleep with their parents.

    Promotes physical and mental well-being

In addition to psychological benefits, babies who co-sleep appear to thrive better.

Parenting expert and pediatrician Dr. William Sears explains, “Over the past thirty years of observing sleep-sharing families in our pediatric practice, we have noticed one medical benefit that stands out; these babies thrive. ‘Thriving’ means not only getting bigger, but also growing to your full potential, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Perhaps it’s the extra touch that stimulates development, or perhaps the extra feedings (yes, sleep-sharing infants breastfeed more often than solo sleepers).”

Reduces risk of stress disorders and SIDS

In his years of research on co-sleeping, Harvard psychiatrist Michael Commons has discovered that babies who sleep alone are at increased risk for SIDS and stress disorders. Co-sleeping babies sleep in physiological harmony with their mothers. The proximity of the mother and infant actually regulates the infant’s breathing, sleep state, arousal patterns, heart rates and body temperature. Babies who are left to cry alone experience elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which causes damage to the developing brain. “It makes you more prone to the effects of stress, more prone to illness, including mental illness and makes it harder to recover from illness,” explains Commons.

    Easier for nursing moms

Nursing moms who co-sleep with their babies report feeling better rested. Because they do not have to leave the bed to nurse, their sleep patterns are less disturbed and they feel more alert and focused during the daytime.

    Promotes family closeness

Children raised in the family bed lifestyle develop close bonds with their family and report more feelings of connectedness and happiness than children who sleep alone. Sleeping together provides more hours in each day for family members to connect and share loving, nurturing moments under the sweet breath of sleep.
