  • You’re Not Dad Of The Year For Posting One Photo

Ciara Moore’s Views having gone viral and for good reasons.

Moore said” Having a baby is all cuddles & about family until things hit the fan with your child’s father and he up and leaves. BOOM now you’re a single mother, left to do it all by yourself, while he MIGHT* ask to see the child once or twice a week and change a couple pampers a day but still gets his beauty sleep while months down the road were STILL feeling like a zombie.

You get to sneak away once a week at night if your lucky to catch up with old friends (the two you have left 🤷‍♀️) and get SHAMED for it . You’re now a bad mum lol. While he lives his regular life with no responsibilities & drinks and hangs out every day but is still quoted “ Best Dad of the Year” JUST because he posts one simple picture with your child he took the last time he saw the kid bc in reality it’s been like a month 😂.

You’ll sit at home after work each day with your child and be happy but still slightly alone because you are. You have a beautiful little person that you take care of but when you rest your head at night and realize “wow my phone hasn’t gone off at all …” and no ones even checked on you or offered to bring you a bite to eat to catch up or ANYTHING small just to make you feel a little less lonely … that’s when reality hits you. And you even start to blame yourself bc now your child is either being raised in a split family , has a revolving door of a father OR no father at all.

I guess that’s a part of growing up is realizing it’s not all that people make it out to be. A picture says a thousand words BUT there’s a thousand more behind it. Dads can drink their feelings away while we have no choice but to face them and pick ourselves back up each day for our child. Especially dealing with some** of the things above or seeing people** i know deal with it .. it’s SAD . But exactly why I admire women/ mothers . We cry all we want but that’s a sign of strength. Somehow we ALWAYS pull through. #notalldadsarethesame !!#dontarguewithme#momsareamazing 👩‍👧👩‍👦

  • Man Who Sexually Assualted A Baby Gets Early Release

A North-east man who filmed himself sexually assaulting a screaming baby, then sent the video to his boyfriend was sentenced to 16 months in prison but was shockingly released after only serving 8 months.

Ryan Simpson, 29, admitted filming himself kissing and sexually molesting the screaming child before sending the video to his partner.

Simpson,  also admitted possessing indecent images of children when he previously appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court.

The court  heard he had been in a long-distance gayrelationship when the sexual assualt took place. When his partner’s home in the south of England was raided by police in the summer, Simpson’s video recording was discovered.

The court heard that police seized all the electronic devices in the property, including a Samsung tablet which belonged to his then-partner, discovering a sickening trail of child sexual abuse images and films.

A “category A” indecent video showing Simpson assaulting his victim was found. The infant was distressed and crying in the footage.

Officers later discovered text messages Simpson sent his partner at the time the sick video was recorded.

The court heard a message sent from Simpson to his partner after the video which read: “I didn’t have much time, or I would have done as I wanted.”

It also appeared he had been sharing them with friends in a social media chat group.

Simpson earlier admitted charges of taking indecent images of a baby, distributing those images, and of possessing indecent images of children, the phone also contained footage of a boy aged between four and six being sexually assaulted, as well as other Category B material. .

He also admitted sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13.

Having only been in prison for such a short time and his trail of sickening images it is likely he will offend again.

  • Having Children With Different Fathers Doesn’t Make Me A Bad Parent

HAVING CHILDREN WITH DIFFERENT FATHERS DOESN’T MAKE ME A BAD PARENT

I’d always felt inferior to other mums about being a single parent when they were married or had a partner… until now.

See, I’m part of a lot of groups on Facebook, most of which include parents who ask for a lot of advice about their children, living situation, partner etc and honestly, some people still never cease to amaze me with some of their responses (I mean, to be fair, if you ask a stupid question, expect a stupid answer or some backlash)… but this one post in particular really hit me, hard.

It’s not often I get irate or provoked by something on social media, but I’m not going to lie, I was furious at the enormity of the ‘Perfect Parent Brigade’ and the way they spoke about this situation; a situation most single mothers are currently in and often, through no fault of our/their own.

(A situation nobody ever wants to be in, just let me add).

“Any mums out there who have children with more than one father?”

Aaaand we’re off! (You can almost hear the ‘Perfect Parent Brigade’ marching in!)

Whilst the majority of single parents are commenting and saying they do have multiple children with different fathers (like I do and because the post is clearly asking this), we also have the “in a relationship but not engaged” mothers, the engaged mothers and the married mothers who pipe up and give their (unwanted) two cents – AKA the parents who can possibly do no wrong!

“I just can’t imagine having a different father to my three children”, “Sorry, but why would you want your children to have different surnames, especially at school?”, “I don’t understand why some people keep having children with different men.”

Yeah, well, I couldn’t imagine doing that either love, until it actually happened to me.

Oh oh oh, and… I think I speak for all single mothers when I say… SHIT HAPPENS.

Listen love, I didn’t plan to have two children with two fathers; I planned on buying a house, being married with three children (with the same guy) and living on a farm by the time I was 28.

    And guess what?

Life doesn’t work out that way sometimes and that is OKAY.

    Who’s to know if it’ll work out? You don’t, I don’t, they don’t.

I could be married to the same man with three children and he could pass away or suddenly up and leave with no warning (which does happen), which means I may end up meeting someone later on and choose to have another baby with but that would be okay, wouldn’t it? Because you know, I was married.

So, why isn’t it okay for someone to have two children with two fathers, or three children with three fathers? Why is that such a crime?

It’s 2018, it’s more common than it ever was, yet people still continue to judge.

Do you genuinely believe we set out for this, that we wanted our children to have different fathers and surnames to each other?

Why should a woman who’s always dreamed of having a large family be told to stop having children because she’s been dealt a shit hand with men?

Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I do get that some parents abuse the benefits system and I believe that having a child whilst on benefits already is unfair, but they’re the people who give parents like us a bad name; but, benefits are there to help people who need it until they’re back on their feet – we’re not parasites of society or leeches.

We’re trying our best for our children, just like the ‘perfect parents’ are, too.

We have good intentions and we’re good people, we’re not inferior to you or less of a mother than you because we don’t own a home, or because we’re not married, or even because our children have different fathers and surnames.

Regardless of what anybody may think, my children are brother and sister and they have the same bond that siblings from a ‘traditional’ family would.

They have a mother who loves them unconditionally, who cooks for them, who educates them, who provides a clean home for them, who does her very best for them and who one day hopes she can settle down with the right man and possibly have another baby because that’s what happens when you meet someone isn’t it? You want to believe it’s for forever.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t.

So tell me, why am I different to you?

Having multiple fathers to your children is hard work and I would change it in a heartbeat if I could – it’s a battle every single day… but that doesn’t mean I don’t deserve another chance at happiness or to carry another baby because I always have hope that one day, my children and I will have that.

You shouldn’t ever judge a parent for their living situation or family situation because one day it could be you; there are no guarantees in life, I promise you that.

  • Basildon Hospital Killed My Nephew

Hannah Baines-Docherty has taken to Facebook to beg for help in getting justice for her baby nephew.

Docerty said: Basildon hospital we are coming for you On the 21st of December my nephew Marni-lee was born. How excited we were to welcome a new baby boy in our family. We trusted Basildon hospital to take care of him and my sister Macey. Little did we know the best day of my sister’s life turned into an absolute nightmare. My sister had SERVERE preeclampsia which they failed to treat or notice. We later discovered they put down she had moderate preeclampsia!

When you have this when pregnant it needs to be treated Immediately, they failed this, with the doctors saying to leave my heavily pregnant sister another WEEK untreated. The day my sister gave birth they rushed her down to have an emergency c-section which we discovered she has TWO scars instead of the one, which we was never told about until we noticed. They told us our baby Marni was brain-dead when born with my sister still on morphine and asleep.

    Basildon Hospital Killed My Nephew
    Basildon Hospital Killed My Nephew

They told us he had hours to live and was put on a life support machine. The only way our precious boy would survive would be if he went to A special London hospital. Which we were told he would not make it there. After 2 hours they gave up and took Marni Lee off the life support machine. He survived 15 hours off the life support machine! Begging for them to get him transferred to the hospital we got told NO! How can this happen? He has survived so long with out the life support machine why wouldn’t they do this??? At least try!

On the 22nd December Marni Lee died in my mother in-laws arms. My sister got transferred to a hospital with them telling us he died due to her having ASUS which she NEVER had! Recently they have had a meeting with Basildon hospital with them ADMITTING if they would have took Marni out of my sister half hour earlier he would still be with us today, also got told there was no reason why he should have died and that he was a heathy little boy.

They have put in my sisters records she had a kidney scan which SHE DID NOT HAVE! No family should have to go through this, they left my sister in a room with her dying son and let her deal with it. Please share this so other people are aware of this hospital. We will NOT give up until we have justice for our baby Marni-Lee ❤

  • Detention For Odd Socks For His Downs Sister

My son Charlie is 9 and is growing into a fine young man, he is the eldest of three children, his sisters are Pippa who is 8 and Hope who is 3 years old and has Down syndrome.

Charlie is a wonderful brother to both his sisters but is extra protective of Hope, Charlie, will sing to Hope, and comfort her when she is scared, will tell people she is special and won’t let anyone say a bad word about her, and Hope loves her big brother she sees him as her best friend and protector.

Last week was  wear your odd socks day to raise awareness on Down’s syndrome, Charlie’s school didn’t do anything for the day but Charlie decided he would wear his odd socks  in honour of his amazingly strong and brave little sister.

Charlie is forever telling people about how awesome Hope is, he went into school wearing one grey sock with a green toe and a green line running around the top of the sock and one grey sock with a slightly different grey they are the same type of sock but a different pair, Charlie didn’t want to go to the extreme as the school has a strict uniform policy of only plain grey or black socks.

The school have just called and said he will have to stay behind for an hour after school today for breaching the schools uniform policies last week, I explained his reasons behind this and that he has a sister with down syndrome, but they stated that they cannot bend the rules for one child, and the policy is there for a reason.

I mean come on! He hasn’t gone in wearing a neon tutu or coloured his hair, his socks don’t affect his learning or distract others in the class, the only colour on show was one green strip.

What would you do? Collect him at 3 as usual or let him sit through an hours punishment?

  • Rape Victims Clothing Placed On Display

An exhibition in Brussels is displaying  items clothing worn by rape victims at the time they were assualted, the idea behind this is to show it doesn’t matter what you wear and no one is at fault being attacked other than the perpatraotor.

The exhibition,is held  near the Belgian capital, is called “Is it my fault?” It refers to the self-doubt that many victims feel after an attack, the Flanders News website reports.

The clothes were leant to the organisers – victim support group CAW East Brabant – include track suit bottoms, pyjamas and dresses some of which are items of children’s clothing.

CAW’s Liesbeth Kennes told VRT1 radio “What you immediately notice when you walk around here: they are all very normal pieces that anyone would wear, some people assume that sexual assault victims tend to wear provocative clothing which is untrue, even if a woman is wearing what others class as “slutty” or revealing that does not give people the right to assault her.

There is even a children’s shirt with an image of ‘My Little Pony’ in the exhibition, which brings home a harsh reality, and a pink dress with the age 3-4 written in the label.

Victim blaming still remains a problem in sexual assault cases, where the victim may be questioned on the assumption that they were at least partly responsible for the sexual aggression against them.

No man, woman or child should ever be abused and it shouldn’t matter what they wear

While victims are accused of dressing provocatively, the only person to blame is the perpetrator, the victim is never to blame

The exhibition hopes to raise awareness that clothing doesn’t matter and that if you are sexually assaulted whilst wearing a short dress or skirt that is not a reason to be raped you are not to blame and a victim

  • Be Aware Of The Complications Of Chicken Pox

I’m sorry if this upset anyone but all parents need to be aware of the possible complications of chicken pox!

Two weeks ago our 5-year-old had chicken pox, so it was no surprise when our 3-year-old started coming out in pox on Saturday morning. He had far less spots than his brother, was perfectly well in himself and we thought he’d just have a mild case.

At 4am on Monday morning he woke up vomiting with a fever of 39.5c. I gave him some calpol and he went back to sleep. At 7am he vomited again and his temperature had only come down slightly to 38.5 despite the paracetamol. He was clammy, had freezing cold hands and feet, his heart was racing, his breathing fast, he was drowsy and howling if you so much as touched him. I also noticed one of his chicken pox had developed a red ring around about the size of a 50p.

Be Aware Of The Complications Of Chicken Pox
Be Aware Of The Complications Of Chicken Pox

After Arlo’s many misadventures with sepsis I knew Rowan’s symptoms weren’t ones to ignore so I took him straight to A&E and he was seen immediately. By the time we got there he’d started to develop a separate large red area under his left arm. He was eventually admitted to the children’s ward in a terrible state, he began fluid replacement and IV antibiotic treatment for suspected bacterial cellulitis, an infection of his soft tissue and lymph nodes secondary to infected chicken pox.

The first antibiotic made no difference so he started a second yesterday. Unfortunately the infection has continued to spread over night so he’s started a third IV antibiotic this morning and today he’s to have an mri scan and the surgeons are coming to review him to see if they need to insert a drain or remove some of the infected tissue.

Be Aware Of The Complications Of Chicken Pox
Be Aware Of The Complications Of Chicken Pox

To say we’re heartbroken for him would be an understatement. Seeing our usually bouncing, laughing, bonkers baby boy in so much pain, hooked up to a drip and unable to move his arms is horrendous.

Chicken pox is generally a mild illness without complications but sometimes it isn’t and as terrifying as things are right now, if I didn’t know the symptoms of sepsis as well as I do (2 years ago, before Arlo, I wouldn’t have had a clue!) who knows where we’d be now, it just doesn’t bear thinking about. We just have keep everything crossed that today will provide some answers and the Dr’s can get him sorted. Please keep him in your thoughts

And please, if your little ones develop chicken pox keep a close eye on their symptoms, make yourself aware of the symptoms of sepsis and if you’re even slightly concerned that something isn’t quite right then get them seem by a Dr.

Early warning signs for Sepsis can be:

    Fever and chills.

    Very low body temperature.

    Passing urine less than normal.

    Rapid pulse.

    Rapid breathing.

    Nausea and vomiting.

    Diarrhea.

*for those asking why we didn’t vaccinate. Chicken pox vaccine is not routinely offered in the UK. The advice from the NHS is that it is generally a common mild childhood illness. Of course with hindsight etc etc… We are absolutely not anti-vaccinations and all 3 of our children are fully up to date on their immunisation.

  • The Best Product Review Ever Written

This is an actual product review about Veet hair removal by a man on  amazon.co.uk

After having been told my danglies looked like an elderly Rastafarian I decided to take the plunge and buy some of this as previous shaving attempts had only been mildly successful and I nearly put my back out trying to reach the more difficult bits. Being a bit of a romantic I thought I would do the deed on the missus’s birthday as a bit of a treat.

I ordered it well in advance and working in the North Sea I considered myself a bit above some of the characters writing the previous reviews and wrote them off as soft office types…Oh, my fellow sufferers how wrong I was. I waited until the other half was tucked up in bed and after giving some vague hints about a special surprise I went down to the bathroom. Initially, all went well and I applied the gel and stood waiting for something to happen. I didn’t have long to wait.

At first, there was a gentle warmth which in a matter of seconds was replaced by an intense burning and a feeling I can only describe as like being given a barbed wire wedgie by two people intent on hitting the ceiling with my head. Religion hadn’t featured much in my life until that night but I suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning around the turd tunnel and what seemed like the destruction of the meat and two veg.

Struggling not to bite through my bottom lip I tried to wash the gel off in the sink and only succeeded in blocking the plughole with a mat of hair. Through the haze of tears I struggled out of the bathroom across the hall into the kitchen, by this time walking was not really possible and I crawled the final yard to the fridge in the hope of some form of cold relief.

I yanked the freezer drawer out and found a tub of ice cream, tore the lid off and positioned it under me. The relief was fantastic but only temporary as it melted fairly quickly and the fiery stabbing returned. Due to the shape of the ice cream tub, I hadn’t managed to give the starfish any treatment and I groped around in the draw for something else as I was sure my vision was going to fail fairly soon.

I grabbed a bag of what I later found out was frozen sprouts and tore it open trying to be quiet as I did so. I took a handful of them and tried in vain to clench some between the cheeks of my arse. This was not doing the trick as some of the gel had found its way up the chutney channel and it felt like the space shuttle was running its engines behind me.

This was probably and hopefully the only time in my life I was going to wish there was a gay snowman in the kitchen which should give you some idea of the depths I was willing to sink to in order to ease the pain. The only solution my pain crazed mind could come up with was to gently ease one of the sprouts where no veg had gone before.

Unfortunately, alerted by the strange grunts coming from the kitchen the other half chose that moment to come and investigate and was greeted by the sight of me, arse in the air, strawberry ice cream dripping from my bell end pushing a sprout up my arse while muttering “ooooh that feels good” Understandably this was a shock to her and she let out a scream and as I hadn’t heard her come in it caused an involuntary spasm of shock in myself which resulted in the sprout being ejected at quite some speed in her direction.

I can understand that having a sprout fired against your leg at 11 at night in the kitchen probably wasn’t the special surprise she was expecting and having to explain to the kids the next day what the strange hollow in the ice cream didn’t improve my status…so to sum it up, VEET removes hair, dignity, and self-respect!

  • Trampoline Parks Don’t Stop People Jumping When Injured

One woman wants to warn others about trampoline parks

Cortney Moreno said “As hard as it is to relive the past 3 months, we want to make other parents aware of the danger associated with indoor trampoline parks.

“Dominic went on his birthday (March 17th) what was supposed to be an innocent night, turned into a nightmare. Dominic was doubled bounced by a much older/bigger teenager. The employee of the trampoline park told our son to stand up (as if he could walk off) knowing another kid was still jumping in his square. As he was trying to stand, that kid bounced next to him instantly making him collapse. He could no longer stand up after that.

“See-they do not make other kids stop jumping if someone is injured. The end result Dominic fell and broke his tibia, both growth plates and his knee muscle had completely flipped over. This all happened within 30 minutes of being there. Innocently jumping to celebrate his birthday.

Trampoline Parks Don't Stop People Jumping When Injured
Trampoline Parks Don’t Stop People Jumping When Injured

“Come to find out, trampolines parks are a leading injury to children. We had no clue!

“While undergoing 3 different surgeries (one of which was over 12+hours). Dominic had to have his knee muscle flipped back into place-a clamp installed to hold it together, external fixators installed on the side of his leg to stretch his growth plates and a metal rod to hold it all together. They installed a pain catheter for 3 days as well. All the while, having a broken tibia. We had to stay in the hospital for 5 days because the pain was so unbearable.

“Our lives have been turned upside down since Dominic’s accident 3 months ago. Every day was a struggle for this sweet boy as he adjusted to life in a hospital bed in our living room. He was restricted to the bed, no movement. He became used to urinating in a cup for almost 2 months, sponge baths by his mother every other day, the most movement his could endure was when someone would hold his leg (not over 6 inches) so we could change his sheets. He had to finish 3rd grade in his hospital bed with his teacher coming after school everyday to tutor him. The countless nights of crying in pain and feeling helpless.

“The Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics study showed most trampoline-related fractures occurred in kids (92.7 percent occurred in people ages 16 and younger). We were shocked to see this statistic-especially because you find the indoor trampoline parks are advertised everywhere for “fun for kids”.

“Dominic is learning to walk again and is in physical therapy 4 days a week. He has a long road ahead-both mentally and physically to get back to where he was before the night of his birthday at the indoor trampoline park. He will return every 6 months for X-rays of his growth plates until he’s an adult. To ensure they are growing properly. The basic things we take for granted like walking normal, running, bending or riding a bike are things our 9-year-old dreams of doing one day.

“We share this with you today to spread awareness that these indoor trampoline parks are not safe. We hope by sharing Dominic’s story it will prevent a child and their family from experiencing the trauma and heartbreak associated with trampoline injuries in young children.”
