Jennifer Lawrence stepped out with husband Cooke Maroney in New York City on Tuesday, as it appears she quietly gave birth to their second child.

The 34-year-old actress was clad in a fuzzy blue sweater, hinting that the couple’s newborn might be a boy.

In addition to her crew neck top, the Silver Linings Playbook star wore a pair of dark-colored lounge pants.

She sported a pair of black-rimmed, rectangular, glasses with sepia-tinted lenses and appeared to go without makeup.

Lawrence’s long, straight, and lustrous blond locks fell freely over her chest as she modeled wispy, face-framing bangs.

For his part, Jennifer’s 40-year-old art dealer husband was effortlessly stylish in dark trousers, a white T-shirt, black jacket, and black and white Vans sneakers.

He wore dark sunglasses and sported a grizzled beard and neatly cut short hair.

The twosome, who wed in 2019, appeared in great spirits as they laughed while enjoying the sunny day.

In addition to their second child, they are parents to three-year-old son Cy.

Less than one month ago the Oscar-winning actress was still visibly pregnant as she strolled through the Big Apple with longtime friend Woody Harrelson.

Chatting with E! News back in 2018, the Hollywood vet described the silver screen siren as a ‘very, very clever gal’ who has ‘incredible wit.’

He explained, ‘You know those kind of people who can just start saying things to you, and once you start laughing, then they just keep coming and keep making you laugh more? She’s one of those types.’

In a 2022 interview with Vogue, Lawrence opened up about the joy of becoming a first-time mother, sharing that the birth of her son Cy ‘felt like my whole life had started over.’

‘I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing,’ she gushed.

Elsewhere in the conversation, she described, ‘I mean the euphoria of Cy is just — Jesus, it’s impossible. My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that.’

Amid her second pregnancy, DailyMail.com learned the actress’ second child was not due until early spring.

‘Jennifer is not having the baby this month,’ a source told DailyMail in February. ‘The child is due in early spring so there is still some time.’

In addition to becoming a mother for the second time, Lawrence has been getting ready to promote her new film Die, My Love, a horror/comedy co-starring Robert Pattinson.

Childhood is a critical period for emotional and behavioral development, with difficulties often foreshadowing future neuropsychiatric conditions. A recent study highlights the importance of parental genetic factors in shaping children’s emotional and behavioral symptoms, offering insights that may advance preventive strategies.

Researchers from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health conducted an extensive examination of data from the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study (MoBa), specifically looking at how parental polygenic risk influences emotional and behavioral difficulties in 14,959 families. Their findings indicate a complex interplay of direct genetic transmission and environmental factors that contribute to a child’s psychological state.

  • Octomom Nadya Suleman reveals the surprising way her daughter secretly tracked down biological father

Octomom Nadya Suleman reveals the surprising way her daughter secretly tracked down biological father

    [ad_1]

Octomom Natalie ‘Nadya’ Suleman had ‘no idea’ that her daughter found her biological father on Facebook and contacted him.

The 49-year-old’s daughter Amerah, 22, made the revelation on the new episode of Confessions of Octomom, airing on Lifetime.

Suleman previously shared her lifelong plan to raise a large family solo, using two sperm donors — one that she knew and another anonymous one from a sperm bank — to conceive her 14 children.

Her octuplets are Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, Makai, Maliyah and Nariyah are now all 16. Suleman’s older children are Amerah, Elijah, 23, Joshua, 21, Aidan, 19, and twins Caleb and Calyssa, 16.

In the latest episode, her kids weighed in on growing up with a single mother, and their desire to know who their father is.

‘I actually found him on Facebook when I was like 12,’ Amerah shared. ‘I did reach out to him. My mom had no idea that I did that. And then my biological father reached out to my mom’s best friend, which then reached out to my mom.’

And then my biological father reached out to my mom’s best friend, which then reached out to my mom’

‘And my mom spoke to me, and she was like, if you want to know him when you’re 18, go for it. Reach out. And she said, “He’s more than happy to get to know you, just whenever you’re ready.”‘

‘But after then, I never felt the need to,’ she added.

‘I don’t have the need to get to know him, not because — I just don’t know him. He’s a stranger. I understood why he didn’t want to be in our lives after the eight came and that’s it. But I know he was a good friend to my mom.’

The ‘eight’ Amerah referenced were the world’s first surviving octuplets, born to Suleman in 2009.

She had previously conceived six children, including two sets of twins, using a friend’s sperm.

While Amerah was curious about her father, not all her siblings felt the same.

‘I was personally never interested in who my biological father was,’ her brother Joshua shared.

‘She explained to me that it was, or he was, a friend of hers. A donor. That’s all I needed to know.’

She said Suleman told her: 'If you want to know him when you're 18, go for it. Reach out' adding, 'He's more than happy to get to know you, just whenever you're ready'

Jonah shared: ‘When I was like six or seven, I would see people with dads and stuff, and I asked my mom if we have a dad, and then she said that we didn’t. She had a donor, and so she had it herself.’

Maliyah added, ‘He’s just a frozen donor that we don’t know at all.’

When questioned about the absence of a father figure, octuplet Nariyah shared: ‘We’ve never really needed like a father figure, because we have mom and we have God.’

‘So we’ve never really wanted that and I just believe I don’t really need any other parent figure in my life because mom is more than enough for that.’

Meanwhile Suleman’s oldest son Elijah declined to talk about the subject.

Already a mother of six via IVF treatment, Suleman made headlines when she gave birth to octuplets on January 26, 2009.

She became pregnant with the world’s first surviving octuplets when Beverly Hills fertility doctor Dr Michael Kamrava controversially implanted 12 embryos instead of the recommended two.

Nadya later sued the hospital she gave birth in for exposing her to the media: ‘They breached HIPAA. I never wanted fame.’

Mother suggests poetic punishment for stepmom accused of keeping emaciated stepson ‘locked up’

    [ad_1]

The biological mother of a Connecticut man who was allegedly locked up for more than two decades by his stepmother is demanding she face poetic justice.

Prosecutors have said Kimberly Sullivan, 56, inflicted ‘prolonged abuse, starvation, severe neglect, and inhumane treatment’ on the now 32-year-old man, who was only able to escape when he set a fire using hand sanitizer, a lighter and paper last month.

Court documents say the victim was given just two cups of water each day, but was sometimes forced to drink out of the toilet.

By the time he escaped from the 8-foot-by-9-foot room he had allegedly been shut in since he was in the fourth grade on February 17, prosecutors said he was ‘akin to a survivor of Auschwitz’s death camp.’

Now, the boy’s biological mother says everyone who lived at the home – not just Sullivan – should face prosecution.

‘All of them in that home need to get charged,’ she told NBC Connecticut. The outlet did not name the woman, but she was identified in Connecticut Insider as 52-year-old Tracy Vallerand.

Speaking specifically of Sullivan, Vallerand said, ‘she needs to actually spend the rest of her life in solitary confinement and fed two cups of water a day.’

Records obtained by CT Insider show Vallerand and the boy’s father, Kregg Sullivan, were married on June 26, 1992 and divorced two years later.

Kimberly Sullivan, 56, allegedly inflicted ‘prolonged abuse, starvation, severe neglect, and inhumane treatment’ on the now 32-year-old stepson

She is accused of holding him captive in an 8-foot-by-9-foot room at her Waterbury, Connecticut home for more than two decades

Then on January 21, 1995, Kregg remarried Kimberly, who was then using her maiden name, Kimberly Boyle.

It is unclear when exactly the boy was born, but Vallerand said she gave up custody of him when he was a baby.

She said it was the ‘most painful, emotional decision any mother can make, but I thought he would have a better life,’ arguing she did not think he would be forced to live ‘with a bunch of monsters.’

Vallerand told CT Insider she did not see her son at all after she gave up custody.

‘He wouldn’t let me,’ she said of her ex-husband, who died in  January 2024.

Still, she said she made several attempts to see the boy when he was still young.

‘There were places I heard [Kregg] took [our son] out on walks to and I would hang there and wait to see if I could see them.

‘He just didn’t want to let anybody in.’

The boy was only able to escape the house when he set fire to it last month. The house is now in disarray, with what looked like a large dog cage sits in the middle of the room

Once the boy turned 18, Vallerand said she and her daughter – the boy’s half-sister – scoured the Internet looking for him.

‘I just want him to know that he has a big sister and I’ve always known he’s existed, and I’ve always loved him and I’ve always been trying to find him,’ the unidentified sister told NBC Connecticut.

‘I’ve been looking for him for over a decade, I wanted to wait til he was 18. I’m almost 35 now,’ she added.

‘And… there was nothing,’ the worried sister said of her search for the boy. ‘No social media, no court records, no ancestry information, nothing.’

It is now alleged that Kimberly and Kregg took the boy out of school when he was in fourth grade, after teachers began to raise concern about his well-being.

He was allegedly locked up ever since, and Vallerand said she only found out what had happened to her son following his escape.

‘My sister actually called me while I was at work and she had stated we found [the boy]. We found him,’ she said.

Now, she says she is hopeful she will finally be able to connect with her son.

‘He does have everybody here, on both sides, on both sides of his family that love him and have looked for him,’ she said.

‘We all love him. I love him. He’s so strong and I’m so proud of him for doing what he needed to do,’ she said of the fire.

‘I wish he did it sooner.’

His limp body could be seen being carried into a waiting ambulance where he was bundled inside, as Sullivan expressed concern for her dogs’ wellbeing.

The man weighed just 69 pounds, while standing at 5 feet, 9 inches at the time, authorities said.

He now faces a long road of physical and mental health treatment, Waterbury Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo said at a news conference last week.

Meanwhile, Kimberly is now facing a slew of disturbing charges, including assault and kidnapping, but was released from prison on Thursday after posting a $300,000 bail.

She has denied any wrongdoing, with her attorney instead pointing fingers at the boy’s father.

Attorney Ioannis Kaloidis has said it was Kregg that made ‘decisions’ about his son’s life.

Sullivan even claims she encouraged better personal hygiene but ‘couldn’t force’ him to wash, and says she was ‘aware’ of his weight but wasn’t responsible for it.

‘She completely maintains her innocence, from our perspective. These allegations are not true. They are outlandish.

‘She was blown away when she heard these allegations,’ Kaloidis previously said.

Sullivan is now due to return to court on March 26.

  • RFK Jr.’s Next Targets Are Companies Making Baby Formula

RFK Jr.’s Next Targets Are Companies Making Baby Formula

    [ad_1]

(Bloomberg) — Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is taking on baby formula products, the latest in his sweeping review of ingredients used in the US food supply.

    Most Read from Bloomberg

Under Kennedy, the US Food and Drug Administration will begin a comprehensive examination of the nutrients used in infant formula and increase testing for heavy metals and other contaminants, HHS said in a statement Tuesday. The announcement comes as Kennedy met with executives of companies that make infant formula, Bloomberg first reported.

Kennedy held a discussion with the chief executives from Abbott Laboratories, which makes Similac, Enfamil maker Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc, Perrigo Co. and Bobbie Baby Inc., according to a social media post from HHS.

“We look forward to working with the Secretary, the FDA, and the scientific and medical communities to continue to make infant formulas even closer to breastmilk and support the aims of Operation Stork Speed,” Abbott spokesman Scott Stoffel said in an email. “Each ingredient in our formulas is purposefully chosen for the type of baby we’re feeding and their unique dietary needs.”

Abbott shares fell 1.1% at 3:42 p.m. in New York after paring earlier losses. Reckitt, whose Mead Johnson unit makes formula, lost 1% in London.

    Contamination Concerns

Kennedy previously voiced concerns about the presence of heavy metals in formula products, including in a social media post in May 2024. During his presidential campaign, he said that if he were to be elected, the FDA, a part of HHS that he now oversees, would examine formula ingredients.

The announcement Tuesday comes as formula manufacturers are facing increased scrutiny over ingredients and potential contaminants in their products. Popular infant formula brands made by Abbott and Reckitt’s Mead Johnson unit, among others, were found to contain potentially concerning levels of heavy metals, according to new findings released Tuesday after the HHS statement.

The study, from nonprofit group Consumer Reports, revealed Abbott’s EleCare Hypoallergenic and Similac Alimentum products had the highest levels of inorganic arsenic among the 41 powdered formulas tested. Reckitt’s Enfamil Nutramigen had, in some cases, twice the amount of lead as other products tested.

“To get to zero exposure would be very, very tough because all these things are found in soy and rice and lipids — all the materials that make up protein,” said Josef Neu, a professor of pediatrics and neonatology at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine. “That being said, I’m always concerned about any kind of toxins that we might be feeding the baby if it’s breast milk, donor milk, formula. I think that the companies should really be looking at this.”
