The Jesus Lizard Release ‘I’m Tired of Being Your Mother’ Preview of Flux EP Ahead of Record Store Day

    [ad_1]

The Jesus Lizard have released “I’m Tired of Being Your Mother,” the final post-Rack digital single and the last preview of the band’s three-song Record Store Day exclusive EP, Flux.

“When a friend of mine was about eight years old, living outside of New Orleans, his mother once said to him, in a slow, dull drawl, ‘Im tired uh bein’ yo mutha’,” David Yow shares. “That really struck me. The lyrics are actual quotes of awful things mothers have said to their children. Heartbreaking!!”

Available on black vinyl with an etched B-side, Flux also features “Cost of Living” and “Westside.” The band recently wrapped up sold-out tours across the Eastern U.S. and the U.K., with additional U.S. and European dates kicking off in May.

The Guardian called their performances a “growling, spit-flecked fusion of pummeling songs and acerbic wit,” while Mojo described the band “as titanium-tough and gimlet-sharp as ever.” WXPN simply summed it up as “absolutely feral.”

Mossbourne Federation parents ‘afraid to complain’

    [ad_1]

Three complaints have been made to Ofsted about the Mossbourne Federation, which runs Mossbourne Port Side School, Mossbourne Fobbing Academy and Mossbourne Herd Lane – previously Hassenbrook Primary School, Gable Hall School and the Corringham Academy.

Thurrock Council has also received a complaint against the federation.

Since taking over, Mossbourne has been accused of leaving a child to sit in wet clothing after refusing a toilet visit and a lack of support for a child with mental health difficulties which resulted in self-harm.

Speaking at a Thurrock people overview and scrutiny meeting on Tuesday, chairman Neil Speight acknowledged progress over the complaints.

However, he said: “This situation has not gone away. I’m regularly getting phone calls. I know colleague councillors at Stanford and Corringham are continuing to get calls. The common theme among the calls is that parents are sceptical and scared to go through the system of complaints.

“I got a phone at 9.25am on Sunday morning. I ended up with a very upset lady who had spent the weekend stewing over a situation concerning a child. It was very distressing and it related to the behaviour of a particular teacher.”

Mr Speight added: “The complaints procedure that Mossbourne has is that you do have to go to the school and that teacher is your first point of call. This lady was in two minds whether to invoke the complaints procedure. In the end she did and it actually went quite well, which is good.

“I just feel we should at some point have an alternative system for parents who are scared and who are worried and do feel, for want of a better word, intimidated. Progress is being made but it may be not as quick as some people want.”

Giving an update on the complaints to councillors, Vikki Hartstean, councillor responsible for children’s services and education, said: “There have been a total of three complaints made to Ofsted since the Mossbourne Federation became the academy trust. Two have now been closed with no further action or concerns after being thoroughly investigated. The third, the latest complaint continues to be investigated. Ofsted has not raised any concerns.”

Ms Hartstean said the federation’s chief executive, Peter Hughes, continues to have regular meetings with parents.

Ms Haststean said a barrister had been appointed to review the Federation’s complaints procedure.

Kylie Kelce reveals baby name idea for fourth daughter with Jason Kelce inspired by Hollywood actress

    [ad_1]

Kylie Kelce is expecting her fourth daughter with husband Jason Kelce – and has teased the possible baby name that is inspired by a famous Hollywood actress.

The media personality, 32 – who announced she is expecting baby number four last year in November – opened up about the topic during a snippet of the upcoming Thursday episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast.

In a short clip uploaded to the show’s main Instagram page, the former field hockey player was joined by Kate Hudson

At one point, Kylie revealed she has thought about naming her fourth daughter after Hudson’s character Andie Anderson in the 2003 romantic comedy How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.

She gushed that it’s ‘one of my favorite movies of all time, but absolutely my favorite rom-com. We’ve even considered Andie as a name for our fourth girl.’

Kylie and Jason are already parents to daughters who have gender neutral names: Wyatt, five, Elliotte, three, and Bennett, two.

Referencing to her husband and former Philadelphia Eagles center, she added, ‘We were like, “Andie would fit in there, and it would be so cool.”‘

Upon hearing that one of her movie characters was an inspiration for Kylie and Jason, the actress replied with, ‘Andie would be so cute… I love that.’

The podcast host then recalled meeting another mom at a swimming pool in the past who had also named her daughter after Andie Anderson.

‘They said that they named their daughter Anderson, as in Andie Anderson, and call her Andie. It’s so bada**,’ Kylie stated.

Late last year in November, the media personality announced that baby number four is on the way with an adorable Instagram post at the time.

She uploaded an image of her three daughters as they posed for a humorous photo while wearing matching pink ‘Big Sister’ sweaters.

In the caption, she penned to her followers: ‘I feel like we captured a very accurate representation of how each of the girls feel about getting another sister. At least Ellie, mom and dad are on the same page!’

Not long after, Jason broke his silence on their growing family and told E! News, ‘I got it pretty easy. I’m not gonna lie.’

The former NFL star added, ‘There’s another girl, so the clothes are all going to be hand-me-downs or already bought.

‘The crib is already situated. So we’re pretty set. Kylie’s definitely preparing more than I am, because she’s actually growing the human being.’

Kelce continued, ‘I love my kids so much, and especially my daughters. I was telling somebody out there because they’re expecting their first – and they look at you. They smile at you.

‘There’s just a way that kids have to warm your soul in a way that nothing else can,’ he expressed to the outlet.

‘And it’s been such a blessing to have three healthy, smart, wonderful children. And hopefully we’ll welcome a fourth into this world, and we’ll be able to watch them fight and tear each other apart and all the good stuff.’

Earlier this year in January, Kylie got candid about the difficulty of trying to find a name for their fourth daughter on her Not Gonna Lie podcast.

‘Going on fourth, it’s like a disaster. You’ve already used them all up. All bets are off,’ she told her fans.

‘If we do a full commit to a girly name at this point, it would not sit well with the other three, I think. Eventually, they’ll be like, “Why did they get a cute girly name?”‘

Kylie added that both she and her husband ‘have to lean a little bit towards those sort of gender-neutral names.

‘We debated Charlie for our first, and then within, I think, six months, we had three different friends who named their kid Charlie.’

The media personality continued, ‘This was six years ago. And Jason and I were like, “Shoot.” Wyatt is a Wyatt, but I love the name Charlie.’

Last month, Jason – who tied the knot with Kylie in 2018 – addressed rumors that he could possibly get a vasectomy after welcoming their fourth child while on The Steam Room podcast.

‘I mean, listen, that’s not up to me, that’s not my decision… but I think Kylie is about coming to the end of wanting to pop these things,’ the former NFL star explained.

‘We’ll see. This one might be it. We’ve talked about the V-word, we brought it up. I don’t know if it’s going to happen or not, but we’ll see.’

He added, ‘I don’t think it’s necessarily if we want to have a boy because, at the end of the day, we’re not shooting with good percentages. We’ve got to give up on that idea.’

Kylie is expected to give birth later this summer – although an exact due date is not known.

‘I am vehemently against the idea of other kids getting birthday presents on a child’s birthday. Our family knows, no one else is receiving a birthday present for Bennett’s birthday. Everyone gets a special day.’

She added, ‘When your siblings get presents for your birthday, it reduces your birthday. It’s not their birthday. It’s your birthday.

‘I think it teaches them to a degree that just because someone’s getting presents doesn’t mean you get presents. It feels very participation trophy-esque and not happening.’

  • Man gets out of jail, allegedly shoots and kills an expectant father in Birmingham 24 hours later

Man gets out of jail, allegedly shoots and kills an expectant father in Birmingham 24 hours later

    [ad_1]

A Birmingham 24-year-old is charged with capital murder in a deadly shooting that happened one day after he was released from the Jefferson County Jail.

Malik Quintawn Austin is charged with capital murder in the Feb. 15 killing of 21-year-old Tre’Von Nyheim Douglas.

The Birmingham Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team arrested Austin Monday in the 7700 block of Crestwood Boulevard on an unrelated outstanding probation violation warrant.

He was taken to police headquarters where he was interviewed by homicide detectives and then booked into the city jail on a 48-hour hold, police announced Wednesday.

Earlier today, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office issued the capital murder warrant.

Douglas, who was expecting his first child, was killed just before 4:30 p.m. that Saturday in the 1400 block of 33rd Street.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud “bang” and found Douglas on the ground in the backyard of the house. They then called 911, said Sgt. LaQuitta Wade.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced Douglas dead on the scene at 4:46 p.m.

Douglas had left home that day with Austin and another man.

His girlfriend became concerned when she couldn’t reach Douglas and then she, Douglas’s mother and brother all began trying to reach him, to no avail.

Douglas’s girlfriend reached out to Austin, but he told her only that he had dropped him off somewhere and was going back to pick him up.

Douglas grew up in South Carolina. The family moved to Birmingham in 2018, and he lived in Bessemer and worked detailing cars.

“He was out on his own and doing something for himself,’’ his mother, Sheree Hayes, previously told AL.com. “He was my baby. He wasn’t a trouble child. He didn’t hang out in the streets.”

The day prior to Douglas’s killing, Austin had been released from the Jefferson County Jail after Judge Stephen Wallace had continued his probation on a previous robbery conviction.

Austin on Sept. 29, 2024, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery. He was sentenced to 20 years with one year to serve but was granted time served and was freed.

He was placed on supervised probation which Wallace later amended to unsupervised probation.

On Nov. 4, 2024, Birmingham police arrested Austin for being a convicted felon in possession of two pistols.

Court records show Austin was arrested again on Jan. 29, 2025, for being in possession of a stolen pistol.

On Feb. 13, records show, the judge issued an order continuing Austin’s probation. A probation review was set for March 10 before Wallace.

Austin was released from jail, at 11:37 a.m. Feb. 14. Douglas was killed just over 24 hours later.

A previous listed address for Austin was the same house where Douglas was killed.

Jefferson County prosecutors on Feb. 20 filed a motion to revoke Austin’s probation since a basic requirement of probation is that the defendant refrain from committing new crimes.

Wallace set a probation revocation hearing for March 10.

Austin will be held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail.

Abdul Aziz Khan, Who Disappeared from Georgia 7 Years Ago at Age 7, Found in Colorado

    [ad_1]

A boy who was abducted from Georgia seven years ago has been found.

Abdul Aziz Khan, now 14, was found in Colorado on Feb. 23, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday, March 5.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home on Kelliwood Way in Highlands Ranch, Colo., to investigate a burglary in progress around 3:37 p.m. on Feb. 23.

“A homeowner monitoring their security cameras for a house that he had for sale noticed some suspicious activity and immediately called the Sheriff’s office,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said during a news conference Wednesday.

Deputies soon arrived and encountered two children in a vehicle in the driveway.

    Rabia Khalid.

Soon after, a female and male, who were later identified as Abdul’s mother, Rabia Khalid, and Elliot Blake Bourgeois, came out of the home and claimed to be “associated with a realtor,” per a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Weekly said deputies “began to uncover inconsistencies in the suspect’s story.”

Deputies, he said, “worked tirelessly to verify the identities of everyone involved. They knew something wasn’t right. They were following their gut, and they investigated further. They just didn’t take it on face value and take the easy way out and move on. They dug and dug and dug for about five hours until they could figure out what was going on.”

Deputies eventually discovered that Khalid, 40, was wanted for kidnapping the boy, then 7, in Atlanta on Nov. 27, 2017.  Weekly said Khalid allegedly took Abdul “when it appeared the father was going to get full custody of the child.”

Khalid is facing several charges including conspiracy to kidnap, forgery, identity theft, and trespassing. Bourgeois, 42, is facing 14 charges including kidnapping, forgery, identity theft, providing false information to authorities, and trespassing.

Both children were taken into protective custody.

Authorities would not comment on the identity of the second child.

“We’re overwhelmed with joy that Aziz has finally been found,” Abdul’s family said in a statement released by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. “We want to thank everyone for their support over the last seven years. Now, as we navigate the next steps, we ask for privacy so that we can move forward as a family and heal together.”

Parents to protest against fines for absent school pupils

    [ad_1]

Parents will be holding a protest against fines for school pupils’ absences in Southampton.

The Fight School Fines movement hopes to force the government to allow for 10 days of authorised leave for schoolchildren.

The regional protest will take place on March 8 at the Southampton Civic Centre from 12pm.

Organisers for the protest say giving these extra days would allow for essential family time, accommodate SEND needs and disabilities and allow for greater family support.

Beth Morris is organising the Southampton protest. She has two daughters and a step-daughter.

READ MORE: Southampton: Kanes Hill Primary School support staff strike

Her daughter Tayla, 10, has autism, ADHD and pathological demand avoidance (PDA).

Tayla struggled to cope with school and eventually suffered from severe “burnout” two years ago, forcing Beth to take her out of school for her health.

Beth said: “She was not having her needs met in school and the result was she had burnout and her mental health was taking a real hit.

“I had to take the risk of fines and prosecution.”

Beth says she had been threatened with fines, and later prosecution, though after a six-week review she was not taken to court.

“A lot of the narrative in the media is around taking holidays during term time, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. It is about more than that,” she added.

“There is so much more going on when you get to the root cause.”

The national protest organiser mum-of-two Natalie Elliott said: “We are hoping that the government will reform the attendance legislation and put a different narrative onto why people take term time leave.

“Term time absence fines do not take into consideration the complexity of family life. Fining or prosecuting parents does not fix attendance, all it does is criminalise the parents.”

The fight school fines group was created in July 2024 via a Facebook group

More than 75,500 people have signed a petition to the government to approve this measure. At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament.

The protest will take place in five other places on the same day: Norwich, Nottingham, Leeds, Durham and Liverpool.

    [ad_1]

Bugatti and Hedley Studios have revealed a unique, one-of-one Bugatti Baby II, celebrating the marque’s 115-year heritage. Designed by Bugatti’s Manager of Sur Mesure and Individualisation, Jascha Straub, this special edition is a tribute to the legendary Type 35 race car.

Finished in a striking “Nocturne” black and “Giallo Midas” yellow — colors favored by Ettore Bugatti — the three-quarter-scale electric Baby II is a blend of history and artistry. The hand-drawn sketches on its body panels, depicting Bugatti’s racing legacy, the Château Saint Jean and Ettore and Jean Bugatti, further cement its status as a collector’s masterpiece.

The car also pays homage to Bugatti’s deep-rooted connection to horses, with subtle design nods to Ettore’s love for “Pur Sang” purebreds. The interior, adorned with black leather from Bridge of Weir, reflects Bugatti’s commitment to craftsmanship and luxury.

“Maintaining and celebrating the heritage of the brand and its founder was a major consideration,” said Straub, highlighting the meticulous effort put into the car’s design. Ben Hedley, Founder and CEO of Hedley Studios, echoed this sentiment, calling the collaboration “a brilliant canvas for a one-of-one piece of art.”

  • John Cena’s father breaks silence about the real reason his son turned heel – he lashes out (Exclusive)

John Cena’s father breaks silence about the real reason his son turned heel – he lashes out (Exclusive)

    [ad_1]

John Cena’s father has now broken his silence about his son’s heel turn. He lashed out in answer.

The Cenation Leader shocked the world at Elimination Chamber 2025 when he suddenly turned heel after having already won the contest. He qualified to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania but then attacked Rhodes after he turned down The Rock. The Final Boss then gave Cena the signal. The reason he turned heel has frustrated everyone, and it seems that Cena’s father is also frustrated by all the questions when Bill Apter caught up with him.

John Cena’s father was less than amused by the question and appears to be fielding a lot of inquiries about the matter right now. He broke his silence on it and let Bill Apter know that he was receiving too many questions about why his son had done what he did, and he was tired of it.

He had no clue how his son could have done that. He added that perhaps it was time to just let it all play out, and then they could find out what was happening. He also said that the Hall of Famer could find out Cena’s reasoning from John Cena himself.

“I’m tired of the other phone calls I’m getting. I don’t know why he did what he did. You’re gonna have to get that from him. I’m so tired of this. Why don’t we just let it play out and find out what’s happening?” (00:55 – 1:07)

It is clearly a question that he has received too many times, so fans will have to wait and see what John Cena says when he turns up with The Rock inevitably.
