Octuplets Describe What It’s Been Like Growing Up Without a Father (Exclusive)

    [ad_1]

In the new Lifetime docuseries Confessions of Octomom, the details of the paternity of Natalie “Nadya” Suleman‘s 14 kids, including her history-making octuplets, who were conceived via IVF with the sperm of an anonymous donor, are set to be revealed.

That said, the now 16-year-old octuplets tell PEOPLE the topic of their father was never a very important one in their household. “I don’t think we really thought about that,” says Maliyah. Adds her brother Jeremiah, “Mom filled in as the father role, and then after that Elijah,” he says of his older brother. Maliyah agrees, “I think Elijah filled that role. As we grew up.”

If you ask Nariyah, who her siblings call the leader of the pack, “I personally think that our mom, she takes over the father role and the mother role and she is fully capable of doing that,” she says. “She’s been an amazing mother and father figure for our whole lives.”

Still, Suleman’s youngest children have had questions over the years. “I’m honest, I’m very transparent with everyone,” she says. “I told them that they come from an anonymous frozen donor and I bought one, it was one dad. And I saw them actually, I saw the creation in the lab in the petri dish. And then they joke, “Oh, so we’re test tube babies?” I’m like, “Yeah, but you’re more than that.” But we joke about it.”

She adds, “We delve into a lot of the details of the donors and how they feel and their experiences in the show.”

When it comes to her older children, also conceived via IVF using the sperm of Suleman’s platonic friend, they have long known who their donor is.

“I was never hiding that,” she says. “They can make a decision if they want in the future or now or whenever they want to to meet him. My oldest sons have absolutely no interest because they say it’d be like meeting a stranger. They may change their mind in 10 years.”

Even through media scrutiny, she’s always kept his identity a secret from the world. “25 years ago or more, when I told the donor that I’m going to keep him private, I didn’t have to say it twice. I said it once. I’m loyal,” she says. “So there’s no way I was going to disclose his name and let him be dragged through the mud. His whole life destroyed just for money? And I was offered money, quite a bit, to disclose his name.”

But Suleman teases that in the new docuseries, “we delve into a lot of the details of the donors and how they feel and their experiences.”

  • Cheltenham 2025 – Queen Mother Champion Chase preview

Cheltenham 2025 – Queen Mother Champion Chase preview

    [ad_1]

The big race of day two of the Cheltenham Festival is the Champion Chase which sees the best two milers outside of the novice races compete against each other over two miles over the great Cheltenham fences.

Arguably, we’ve got every horse we’d like to see turning up for the Champion Chase, which is always nice to see that horses are dodging the odds-on favourite and are willing to give it a go. Even though we’ve seen some short-priced horses lining up for this race over the years, it hasn’t always gone to plan and we have seen a fair share of upsets.

Captain Guinness managed to win this last year when El Fabiolo was pulled up after a horrendous mistake, winning at odds of 17/2. Put The Kettle On won this race back in 2021 and has been the only mare in recent history to win the race, also causing an upset at odds of 17/2, so you can definitely back against the favourite in this race, if that is something you’re into.

    The favourite

If all goes to plan on day one, then many will be expecting Jonbon to do the business and keep their acca rolling with a few more short-priced fancies likely to be on there later in the week. He is the favourite for a reason, and that is because this race probably isn’t as deep as we’d all like it to be.

Jonbon is a strange horse, and I don’t think he has captured all of the betting public, even though he is a multiple Grade 1 winner and has a string of 1s next to his form line. Every so often, he chucks in a stinker, and I think that’s why people think you can get him beaten. Last year he was beaten by a much lesser horse on Trial’s Day in January, and it was a credit to the horse that he managed to finish as close as he did that day as his jumping was awful and it was evident that James Bowen could not get a tune out of him. Nico De Boinville is the man for this horse, he has ridden him plenty of times and gets a great tune out of him, and his jumping is assured when Nico is in the saddle.

This year, he has been very impressive, with the latest win at Ascot being the standout piece of form when battering the two-time Champion Chase winner, Energumene by 6.5L. I think you can say that he is still value at the price he is currently sitting at, which will always upset some people who think an odds-on shot can’t be deemed as value, but against a field like today’s, he should technically hose up. However, recent history in this race will tell you, it’s not as easy as turning up.

    The opposition

I am a tad surprised to see Marine Nationale sitting as the second favourite for this race as he hasn’t gone to the level that many people thought he would be. His trainer Barry Connell made it out like this horse was the second coming of Jesus Christ when he beat Facile Vega in the Supreme a couple of years ago, but he hasn’t gone to the next level since. In all fairness, he looks a better horse this year than he did in his previous campaign, but he hasn’t got a win to his name this season, finishing behind Solness on two occasions and Quilixios on another.

There is obviously some confidence coming out of the camp to suggest he will be a player for the places at the very least, but it would be a great turnaround and a great piece of training by Barry if this horse was to win this, especially if Jonbon stays on his feet.

Solness definitely deserves to be one of the closer horses in the market to Jonbon as he has been a revelation for Joseph O’Brien this year. Some people thought what he did against Gaelic Warrior was a fluke, but he showed that he had the class and did it again at the DRF at Leopardstown to cement himself as a player for today’s race. However, everyone knows his game plan now, which is to go from the front and set a strong pace and hope that the other jockeys don’t respect you and by the time you’re jumping the last couple of fences the race is over as you’ve nicked too many lengths. If they kept that gameplan quiet and turned up to this race with the idea of doing that, he would be a huge price as I don’t think he’d have won the races he has, but he’d also have a cracking chance as it would’ve been a total surprise. Knowing what we know now, I think it would be a surprise if he were to win in the same style that he has been doing recently, but it’s definitely not out of the equation as he is still a young horse.

Energumene has to be worthy of a mention as he is a two-time winner of this race, and despite him being an 11-year-old, he is definitely good enough on his day to win a race like this, but father time has probably caught up with him now and I think he’d want the ground to be a lot softer than what it currently is. He’s definitely an each-way bet for many, but if I were to bet on him, it would probably be in the lay market for him not to be placed.

You have some other decent names like Captain Guinness who won this race a few years ago, but he is also getting older and hasn’t shown much form this year. Found A Fifty is a decent horse in his own rights, he beat Solness earlier this season but has a tendency to jump out to the right and he isn’t in the same league as Jonbon.

    Final Judgement

I do think this will be a formality for Jonbon, who is definitely the best horse in the race and priced up at just below even money is definitely something which would entice me if I were a big-time gambler, but I think I’ll keep it simple and play him in my multiple bets. If his jumping is as good as what we’ve seen from him this year, it should be a breeze in the park, and arguably done on the bridle. I think the Solness surprise factor is no longer a thing, and hopefully, Nico De Boinville will sit close to him so that he doesn’t sneak away from the pack and then make his challenge when needed.

At a big price, and a horse I’ve not mentioned yet, I think Liberty Hunter is a decent price to hit the frame in second or third. This horse is a nine-year-old, but we’ve not seen much of him over fences and something we do know about this horse is that he handles this track well and he stays very strongly over two miles. He was beaten by Master Chewy at Newbury last time out, but I think if Solness goes off very quickly and sets a good pace to aim at, Liberty Hunter could definitely pick up some of the pieces, similar to how he did when he raced against Matata (extreme front runner) last year at this track.

Emily Jones: Parents deserve a say in their children’s digital lives

    [ad_1]

In today’s digital age, keeping our children safe online is one of the greatest challenges parents face. We set curfews, teach our kids to look both ways before crossing the street, and monitor who they spend time with—but when it comes to the apps they use daily, many of us are left in the dark. That’s why the App Store Accountability Act, a bill introduced in the State House by Representatives Sells, Mooney, Stadthagen and Bracy, is a crucial step forward in protecting parental rights in the digital world.

The bill would require app store providers to verify the age of users, link minor accounts to parent accounts, and secure parental approval before children and teens can download new apps. In an era where kids are spending an unprecedented amount of time on their devices, this bill provides a necessary safeguard to ensure parents have the tools to enforce household rules and protect their children from harmful content.

As a mother and Chapter Chair of Moms for Liberty in Madison County, Alabama, I have spoken with countless parents who feel powerless when it comes to their children’s online activities. We try to set boundaries, but without proper oversight mechanisms, our efforts often fall short. This bill helps bridge that gap by requiring app stores to serve as a one-stop-shop where parents can approve or deny app downloads for their teens. That’s a simple and effective way to help parents maintain oversight of the content our kids are exposed to, rather than having to chase down permissions app by app.

A harsh reality we face as parents is that many apps are designed with addictive algorithms, expose kids to inappropriate content, and create opportunities for predatory behavior. Parents—not corporations or government—should have the final say in what their children can access online. This legislation is not about restricting access; it’s about giving families the ability to make informed decisions that align with their values.

Alabama has an opportunity to lead the way in ensuring that parents are in control of their children’s digital experiences, and we’re not alone in this fight. States across the country are recognizing the need for similar protections, with Utah already moving forward on legislation and others following suit. This is a growing movement, and Alabama has the chance to take action alongside other states working to empower parents.

The digital world is evolving rapidly, and so must our approach to protecting our children. This bill is a practical, balanced measure that respects parental authority while making the internet a safer place for kids. Let’s pass this legislation and give parents the tools they need to keep their kids safe in today’s digital world.

She’s trying for a baby with her boyfriend—but he told her he wouldn’t change poopy diapers.

    [ad_1]

Our advice columnists have heard it all over the years—so today we’re diving into the archives of Care and Feeding, Slate’s parenting advice column, to share classic letters with our readers. Have a question for Care and Feeding? Submit it here.

    Dear Care and Feeding,

My boyfriend and I are trying to have kids. The topic of changing poopy diapers came up, and he was adamant that he would not do it. He said that since he mows our lawn, I can change everything that isn’t pee. He was laughing, but I don’t believe he’s joking at all. Can you settle this for us?

    —Equal Opportunity Diaper Duty

    Dear EODD,

People tell jokes for attention, or because they’re stressed, or to handle an uncomfortable truth. I want to believe that your boyfriend was joking, but I want to understand why.

So, maybe your boyfriend just wants some attention. Maybe he’s anticipating what it will be like when the two of you become three and the smallest member of the family is the star of the show. Similarly, maybe he’s stressed—deciding to have kids is no small thing!—and this little joke is a way of acting out.

Or maybe this is his way of handling the uncomfortable truth, which is what you seem to think: that he seriously believes this is a tenable option for a dad. Obviously, he’s wrong. He cannot possibly argue that a reasonable approach to parenting looks like him mowing the lawn once every two weeks while you change diapers every day.

You should tell him honestly that this joke or assertion or whatever you’d call it is making you upset—that you need to know you’ll be equal partners as parents and that he’ll be present for your child come what may (and what comes will certainly get a lot messier than a poopy diaper).

What’s at issue here isn’t poop at all, of course—it’s the big messy task ahead of you both. I suspect he’s joking about diapers because he knows this and is rightly overwhelmed. Tell him he needs to cut it out, and hopefully he’ll hear you. If, however, he truly believes that parental responsibilities can be apportioned like this, you should think deeply about whether he’s the person you want to share those responsibilities with.

From: My Boyfriend Has Declared He Won’t Change Poopy Diapers. (June 13th, 2019)

    Please keep questions short (

    Dear Care and Feeding,

My daughter had lifesaving stomach surgery at 22 hours old, and she spent three weeks in the NICU. As a result, she was at risk for lung infections and various other stomach issues, such as reflux. Because of this, we co-slept from the time she got home from the hospital. Three months later, her dad suddenly walked out of our life. This was extremely traumatic for me and I was never able to transition her into a crib during her infancy. Along with being able to monitor her health as I lay beside her, I found great comfort in our co-sleeping.

She is now 5 ½ years old, and I’m not sure if I need to worry about her continuing to sleep with me. I don’t mind it as I’m not currently dating anyone. When I bring it up with her, she says she isn’t ready to sleep in her own bed. Others have voiced their concerns about us still co-sleeping at this age, but she’s smart, hitting all her milestones, and seems very secure in our relationship. She has no issues when staying at other places.

I’m not sure if I am damaging her by continuing the co-sleeping, or if I’m holding on to her because I am anxious about her past health issues (which she experiences much less frequently now).

    —Should I Cut the Cord?

    Dear SICtC,

I am so sorry to hear about the frightening time after your daughter’s birth and so glad she’s doing well now. And I’m sorry her father wasn’t there for both for you and that he left you when and how he did. I’m trying—because that’s how I roll—to find it in my heart to feel a little sorry for him for not getting to have this delightful child in his life, but that seems past the limits of my compassion.

Speaking of compassion: Your daughter, it seems, has it in spades. If she has no trouble sleeping without you by her side when she stays overnight elsewhere, I’m guessing that what’s going on isn’t that she’s not ready to sleep in her own bed but that she knows you’re not ready for it. I don’t mean that she is consciously lying to you, or to herself. What’s happening, I think, is that she’s taking care of you and she’s internalized your need as her own.

You do need to end the co-sleeping. It’s time. This sounds harsh, I know. But you’ll have to trust me when I tell you I don’t have a harsh bone in my body—and also that I am most definitely not against co-sleeping. I loved having my baby daughter beside me when I slept, and I would have kept her there forever if I didn’t know better. Part of being a loving parent is cutting the cord—cord after cord—when the time is right.

The sad fact is it is ridiculously easy to get our own needs mixed up with our children’s. Learning to ask myself the question Whose need is this, hers or mine? helped me clarify all kinds of decisions about how to treat my daughter. To be honest, it still helps me today and she is 26 years old. This is a question that should never grow old for a parent.

And it’s a harder question to answer truthfully than you might think. We are all of us fragile and needy beings. Being an adult doesn’t magically make us strong. Nor does being a parent, although parenthood does give us some sly opportunities to get our own needs met, and sometimes they’re needs that never have been met before. (For instance, if you waited until you are dating someone and then kicked your daughter out of your bed, it would be very clear whose needs were being met by this arrangement.)

My every instinct is telling me that co-sleeping at this point isn’t about her needs but about yours, and the ways she has come to believe that it’s her job to keep you feeling safe and secure and un-lonely. And I know you know that this is not in fact her job. That because of the awful circumstances surrounding her birth and infancy, the natural order of things shifted. That it’s time to set them right.

I suspect that when you tell your child firmly that it’s time for her to sleep in her own bed—in her own room, too, if she has one that’s separate from yours—she’ll protest. She’ll cry. She might even have a meltdown. Stick to your guns when she says she’s not ready. (This will be hard, I know. I know it will be hard to pick up the guns in the first place.) From everything you’ve said about your daughter, it seems pretty clear she is ready. Give her the chance to let you—and herself—know that.

I want to add that this is not your fault. It’s not something to be ashamed of or feel guilty about. No one intentionally hangs on to something that was once necessary for the well-being of their child but has outlived its usefulness; no one intentionally persuades themselves that they’re doing something for their child when they are “only” taking care of themselves—and “only” is in quotes because I don’t want to minimize the importance of your taking care of yourself. There’s no one taking care of you, no one helping you, no one looking out for you. That’s very hard. But figuring how to take care of yourself is another matter altogether, right?

    —Michelle Herman

From: Should I Make My 5-Year-Old Stop Co-Sleeping With Me? (July 16th, 2019)

    Dear Care and Feeding,

My daughter is turning 5 in a few months, and her best friend has her birthday the day before. We are good friends with her parents, who have suggested this year that we do a joint birthday party at a restaurant with a kids’ play area. I don’t want to!

We tend toward low-key parties with about seven to 10 of my daughter’s friends, whereas last year their daughter’s party had something like 25 kids, with all the attendant parents and siblings. That’s like 50 people, most of whom I don’t know, to entertain! The cost aside, we also did “no gifts” at our daughter’s previous birthday parties (she gets plenty from us and our relatives) and I don’t think I can reasonably ask the other girl’s parents to follow suit if we go in together.

I think us sharing the cost of the party would be a huge help to them, so I’m feeling guilty. How do I get out of this in the most face-saving manner possible? I feel like they’ll think it’s weird or unfriendly that I don’t want two best buddies with practically the same birthday to celebrate together.

    —Party Pooper

    Dear Party Pooper,

If the Care and Feeding inbox is any indication, many parents share your stress about kids’ birthday parties.

Every family is different, and you have no responsibility to help some other family shoulder the cost of an elaborate party, even if your kids are best friends.

Just tell the parents you will be doing something else for your kid’s party and look forward to seeing them there, and let it go at that. They may indeed think you’re weird, but that’s their problem and not yours.

They might bring it up again, press on this a bit, or say something in an attempt to make you feel like you’re in the wrong. In that case, you can either be honest (“Our family prefers a smaller, intimate birthday celebration!”) or you can offer a harmless lie (“A big party just isn’t in our budget!”).

I wouldn’t get into all the nitty-gritty—there might be bruised feelings, yes, but indicating that you fundamentally object to the way they celebrate birthdays might lead to the kind of hard feelings that make it difficult for the kids to remain pals.

Jos Verstappen has firmly denied rumours that his son Max Verstappen will transfer to Mercedes or any other team in Formula 1.

The father of the four-time world champion confirmed that Max will continue driving for Red Bull Racing in 2026.

This comes amid widespread speculation on social media linking the Dutch driver with potential moves to teams including Mercedes and Aston Martin.

Jos dismissed these transfer rumours during a recent radio interview, insisting that Max’s only current contract is with Red Bull.

    Reuters

“It mainly plays out on social media, people make an issue of it there,” Jos responded firmly during the radio interview.

“At the moment there is nothing at all. There are no other contracts. The only contract out there is with Red Bull.”

Jos made it clear they are focused on the current situation with Red Bull Racing.

“We just wait for that and see how it goes this year,” he added, putting an end to the transfer speculation.

Earlier this week, Jos Verstappen directly challenged claims made by Jack Plooij that Max had already signed with Mercedes for 2026.

On social media platform X, Jos responded bluntly to Plooij’s assertion.

The exchange has drawn significant attention as speculation about the champion’s future continues despite these denials.

Despite attempts to revert to the original setup, Max couldn’t recapture his initial positive feeling with the car.

When asked directly about Max’s opinion on his 2025 car, Jos was candid: “Well, let me put it this way, he was not satisfied.”

Jos was also asked whether Max’s upcoming fatherhood would impact his racing performance.

Two men and two women have been arrested after a mother was shot at point blank range outside a front door in a quiet Welsh town on Sunday.

Joanne Penney, 40, was reportedly staying at a flat that had been used as a drugs den when she was gunned downed at around 6pm on Sunday evening.

Her death left the residents of Talbot Green, near Cardiff, shocked as many speculating that the killing must have been a case of mistaken identity.

Friends have argued the real intended target was a woman Joanne had been staying with at the time. Both women have blonde hair and are similar ages, neighbours have said.

Two men, aged 27 and 68, and two women aged 21 and 39, were arrested last night in connection with the shooting, South Wales Police announced today.

It comes after a man , 42, also from Talbot Green, had been arrested on suspicion of murder earlier this week.

Detective Chief Superintendent Ceri Hughes hailed the arrest of the new suspects, from Leicestershire, as a “significant development” in the mystifying case.

He said: “The investigation into Joanne’s death is continuing and we have a team of experienced detectives and specialist staff working hard to establish the circumstances of this terrible incident.”

Police are seeking more information about the movements of a biege Nissan Note (BK61 ZDC) and a black Volvo XC40 (FD24 PZF) which drove from the Leicester area to South Wales on Sunday morning.

The vehicles left the scene shortly after Joanne was shot dead.

The cars have since been seized and will be subject to forensic examination.

Det Ch Supt Hughes added: “We need information about the movement of these vehicles and their occupants, including any dashcam footage, particularly from commercial vehicles, for any journeys on Sunday.”

“While we have teams of officers carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries, I also appeal for any dashcam footage or CCTV around Llys Illtyd and the nearby retail park between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Sunday March 9 which may have captured these vehicles and any witnesses.”

He added that police are still searching hard to establish a motive for the mother-of-four’s murder.

“We are exploring several lines of enquiry, including the possibility that she was the victim of mistaken identity,” he added.

Police have urged anyone with information “either about Joanne’s death or what happened at the property in Llys Illtyd on Sunday evening” to come forward.

“The smallest piece of information could be of vital importance,” Det Ch Supt Hughes said.

Two men and two women have been arrested following the shooting on Sunday evening.

A neighbour, who gave the name “Jo”, told reporters Joanne had only moved to stay with her friend around Christmas time, The Sun reports.

They said: “She seemed nice but fairly shy. She moved over the border from England and was staying there.”We all think it may have been mistaken identity. We can’t think why anyone should pick on her – she may have just answered the door to the wrong person at the wrong time.”

Alex Davies-Jones, Labour MP for Pontypridd, said she had been “deeply moved” by tributes to Ms Penney from her loved ones.

“Last night, a woman’s life was tragically cut short,” the MP said.”Her name was Joanne Penney. She will be mourned by our whole community.

“I am in close contact with the police regarding the investigation and am grateful an arrest was made swiftly. I have also raised the case with the UK minister for policing and crime prevention.”I have been deeply moved seeing the tributes from Joanne’s friends. May she rest in peace.”

John Mulaney, Olivia Munn’s son Malcolm stole show at parent’s wedding

John Mulaney and Olivia Munn’s wedding was made extra heartwarming by their son Malcolm and a celebrity who officiated it.

Mulaney recently shared insight into their “very simple ceremony” during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, March 12.

The comedian revealed that Munn’s The Newsroom costar Sam Waterston had once “said to Olivia if you ever get married, I’ll perform the ceremony.”

“He did? Why did he say that?,” Kimmel asked.

Mulaney replied: “I think it was chit chat. But you take people up on what they offer…”

The couple’s son Malcolm, who was two years old at the time, added his own touch of sweetness to the ceremony.

“He was a 2-year-old at our wedding in a little tuxedo and shorts,” Mulaney recalled. “And he didn’t ask at any point, ‘Oh, you two aren’t married yet?,’ which was nice and polite of him.”

“And he actually went to the bathroom in his diaper during it and announced it mid-vows,” the Puss in the Boots: The Last Wish star added. “Yeah, a very sweaty, little 2-year-old in a tuxedo just went, ‘I’m pooping.’”

“I like that he announced it while it was happening and not before or after that,” Kimmel quipped.

“Well, it’s really an in-the-moment kind of declaration,” Mulaney joked back.

John Mulaney and Olivia Munn tied the knot over the Fourth of July weekend in 2024. They share son Malcolm, three, and daughter Méi June, who was born in September, 2024.

Nepo-baby with Hollywood A-list dad walks the red carpet at new movie premiere – can you guess who he is?

A NEPO-BABY with a Hollywood A-list dad has walked the red carpet at a new movie premiere.

The 16-year-old in question is the son of an actor whose credits include the likes of Dallas Buyers Club, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Lincoln Lawyer, and many more hit films.

He was walking the red carpet to support his dad at the premiere of his new film, The Rivals of Amziah King.

The premiere took place on Monday evening, and his 55-year-old dad looked hugely proud as he looked on at his son posing on the red carpet as his photograph was taken.

It’s none other than legendary actor Matthew McConaughey’s son, Levi.

Levi is the eldest child of Matthew and his wife Camila Alves, who also have a 15-year-old daughter named Vida, and a 13-year-old son, named Livingston.

And their eldest cut a stylish figure on the carpet, dressed in a black jacket and brown trousers.

He later posed with his stylish parents after having his own moment on the carpet, as they stood either side of their son.

Camila looked sensational in a black suit and matching trousers, and Matthew opted for a suave suit look and flashed a smile at the camera.

Levi’s red carpet appearance comes a few months after he was spotted picking up tips from his dad, 54, as the cameras rolled in San Diego in November.

Levi was filming for drama Way Of The Warrior Kid and was seen shooting scenes at Mission Beach.

Yet he had his Interstellar star dad Matthew McConaughey on-hand for support.

The How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days star was seen keeping tabs on Levi before offering some sage advice before a take.

He was shooting scenes for the movie adaptation of the 2017 Jocko Willink children’s book of the same name.

It tells the tell of 11-year-old Marc, played by Jude Hill, who finds his inner warrior strength during the summer holidays with the help of his Navy SEAL Uncle Jake.

Clips from the latest scenes saw Levi in a pale T-Shirt and dark trousers.

He stood on the sands surrounded by a camera crew.

Texas-born Matthew was seen chatting to other staff on-set after his pep-talk with Levi.

Matthew and Camila’s first and oldest son was born on July 7, 2008.

Levi means “united,” “joined,” or “joined in harmony,” and is an anagram for “live,” beginning a theme for the McConaughey kids.

While Levi’s parents preferred to keep him out of the public eye when he was growing up, they surprised their firstborn on his 15th birthday by giving him a gift fit for any teen – and allowing him to join social media.

It appears he will be following in his dad’s A-List footsteps with his first acting gig.

  • Family gets investigation reopened into Benidorm death of father-of-four who plunged off cliff

Family gets investigation reopened into Benidorm death of father-of-four who plunged off cliff

    [ad_1]

THE family of a Welsh tourist who died in a Benidorm cliff fall have convinced the city’s court to reopen an investigation- as they suspect foul play.

Father-of-four Nathan Osman, 30, from Pontypridd became separated from his friends after going out on the first day of a Benidorm ‘lads’ holiday last September.

He was found at the foot of a 200-metre cliff and the Policia Nacional closed the case- putting it down to either an accidental death or suicide.

Nathan’s brother, Lee Evans and his sister Alannah Hughes, along with her husband Ross felt there were important questions to be answered.

Last week, the trio flew to the Costa Blanca for meetings with courts and the police.

“We have achieved our aim of reopening the case in a bid to find new clues and answers,” said Lee.

The siblings came armed with a dossier of evidence, showing Nathan as a family man and not a ‘drunk’ British tourist that to some eyes typifies Benidorm holidaymakers.

They also brought security camera images from the city promenade taken the night he died.

They strongly believe Nathan was taken by person or persons unknown before being robbed and killed.

Lee, Alannah, and Ross were unhappy about the first police probe- especially over how somebody could walk so far(around 40 minutes) at 5am to the Sierra Helada cliffs.

They claim the day after he died, attempts were made to use his bank cards in a supermarket- something that authorities did not follow up.

CCTV footage retrieved by them showed Nathan on the Benidorm promenade on the night he died and he was not in an obvious state of intoxication.

Lee Evans said: “We believe that he went the wrong way, and when he realised the mistake, he tried to get a taxi because it was so far from his hotel.”

His image disappears and we think he got into an alley where he thought he was taking a taxi that turned out not to be,” he added.

“And something has happened for him to be found where he was found,” Lee continued.

The view of Nathan’s family is that he was spotted alone, disoriented and well-dressed, allowing somebody to take advantage of him.

“We think they took him to the top of the Sierra Helada to rob and kill, but we can’t say for sure whether he was murdered before he was thrown off the cliff,” said Lee Evans.

Alannah Hughes said: “I want to be able to look at my brother’s kids when they’re older and tell them we tried everything.”

“If we don’t try, we won’t be able to live with it and cannot rest until we find answers.”

The family added that they were grateful for the collaboration of the Policia Nacional and the Benidorm court in meeting with them.
