  • Someone Called This Girl’s Japanese Tea Party Racist and Then a Japanese Person Stepped In

Cultural appropriation has always been a touchy subject, but the topic has become especially heated in recent years thanks to so many media outlets setting bad examples (ahem, Vogue). That’s why when one Utah mum shared her daughter’s Japanese-themed birthday party FIVE years ago, it resurfaced on Tumblr and caused an uproar on the internet.

One user has since called the mum “racist” and has criticized her for setting a bad example for her daughter.

“Teach children this is not ok,” user ‘ginzers’ wrote.

The response was quickly cheered and supported by other Tumblr users, and in the years that have followed this particular post has percolated around reddit and various other forums in one form or another. Hence why it resurfaces from time-to-time.

  • Creepy realistic zombie reborn doll

This really is the creepiest reborn baby I have ever seen.

The owner or the doll has put it up for sale and the post went viral:

    **ADOPTED**

This is my favorite baby that I’ve created. She is made from the second edition Saskia kit. She is a very rotten little zombie and very dear to my heart… Sadly I have decided to sell her. She is weighted with fine glass beads and polyfil. She also has a baby powder scent wafer to keep her smelling much fresher than she looks 😉 She weighs approx 6 pounds and is very cuddly! She has been painted with many layers of GHSP & has hand rooted high quality mohair. She will come with a few outfits and some extras. She is ready to ship! I will accept payments on her with a non refundable deposit (at time of agreement) as long as she can be paid in full by 09/01/2017. Message me for details if you are interested.

This is the stuff of my nightmares.

Do you fancy cuddling up to this?

  • If You Play With Her I’ll Smack You!!!

One mother has taken to Facebook to rant, her child Deon has previously had behaviour issues and struggled to control her anger. How would you react if a child was threatened not to play with your child?

    The mother said
“BE ADULTS NOT A COWERED people seem to have a problem with their children playing with Deon.

I have now been told on a number of occasions of adults threatening their child with physical abuse if they play with her, Deon has had anger issues in the past and she has learned to control her anger and her school would agree before they finished up that they had noticed a big improvement in her behaviour. She is a 7 Year old child that cowardly parents pick on and even sent a letter from angry parents all you are is cowards.

I have now had a child crying scared to go home because she might get slapped for playing with Deon.

I wont stop any child playing with my children even if they have had arguments in the past, they’re kids that’s what kids do and i will contact social workers for the children that are scared as this is not on growing adults picking on children I would approach the adults but I don’t know who they are.

Any issues with my children contact me don’t take it out on your child”.

How would you react in this situation?

Do you stop your child playing with anyone?

  • Teenager who convinced her boyfriend to commit suicide is JAILED

Michelle Carter was handed two-and-a-half years in prison on Thursday. The judge said Carter will only have to serve 15 months and the rest of the sentence will be suspended.

Michelle Carter will spend 15 months in prison

Conrad Roy was 18-years-old when he committed suicide after his girlfriend, Michelle Carter, who was 17-years-old at the time, encouraged him to kill himself then continued to listened to his last minutes but did not call the police for help.

Carter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in June after his death which happened in his own truck in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, in July 2014.

Conrad Roy took his own life

In several text messages, Carter urged Roy to follow through on his talk of taking his own life. She wrote this to him the day he killed himself ‘The time is right and you are ready … just do it babe.’
Another message read: ‘You can’t think about it. You just have to do it. You said you were gonna do it. Like I don’t get why you aren’t.’

Michelle and Conrad met on holiday in Florida back in 2012 with their families. After that, they only met in person a few of times. Their relationship then consisted mainly of texting.

  • I Lie To My Kids, Do You?

I’m a good parent and I lie to my kids. Lying isn’t what makes me a good parent, but it doesn’t mean that I’m a bad one either.

The truth is, everybody lies. Toddlers, teenagers and adults – we all lie. Think about it, you even lie to your own kids you know you do. If you say you don’t, you’re lying!

We lie to our children for a multitude of reasons; we want to protect them, or we don’t always know the right answer, or we’re just lazy or we’re just having some fun. The latter backfired on me recently.

Obviously, there’s a difference between little white lies and lying to kids specifically to hurt them. The former is the result of taking care of the small people we love but who inevitably drive you to your breaking point and threaten to send you over the edge. [The latter, we don’t even go there.]

So, with that mind, here are some common lies Reddit and Pinterest users have heard parents tell their kids. Feel free to add your own in the comments section.

1.”The ice cream van only plays music when he runs out of ice cream.”

    2. “My dad told me the rumble strips on the highway were for blind drivers.”

    3. “Your mom and I were just…em, wrestling.”

    4. “If you don’t behave in the drive-thru you’ll get a Sad Meal.”

    5. “Smoke detectors are actually Santa-cams.”

    6. “My dad told me people only get 10,000 words per month. If you reach the limit, you can’t physically speak until the new month begins. Anytime I was especially talkative, dad would say, ‘Careful, you’re over 9,000 by now.’”

    Little white lies…

    Little white lies…

    7. “If you pee in a pool, there’s a special dye that will turn it red so that everybody knows.”

    8. “If you lie a red dot appears on your forehead that only parents can see. It only goes away when you tell the truth.”

     9. “They don’t sell replacement batteries for that toy.”

    10. “When I was a kid my parents warned me that if I pressed the ‘reset’ button on the power outlet the house would explode.”

    11. “You’ll have to drive a little Smart car if you don’t eat your vegetables because you’ll be too little for a big car.”

    12. “We’re not French so we can’t eat the French Fries in McDonalds.”

    13. “The tooth fairy won’t come if your room is messy.”

    14. “If I didn’t sit still during a haircut, the barber would cut my ear off. The worst part was that the barber would play along.”

    15. “We have to leave the zoo now. The zookeeper called my cellphone and your crying is upsetting the animals.”

    16. “We’re going to bed now, too.”

    17. “I’m leaving without you.”

    18. “When I was little my Dad told me that toys grew under the weeds in the yard and if I pulled them, eventually a toy would pop out. And I believed it for a long time…”

    19. “The car won’t start unless everyone is buckled in.”

    20. “We’re almost there.”

    21. “I want to carry you but the doctor said your legs would stop growing if you didn’t walk.”

    22. “Our fish went to live with their friends in the ocean.”

    23. “My father always said the animals on the side of the road were just taking a nap because the road was warm.”

    24. “My son was 8 before he knew that football games on school nights had a second half. I always sent him to bed at halftime.”

    25. “When we go on a road trip I’m going to tell my kids, ‘If you go to sleep, we’ll take the shortcut.’”

    26. “We got our daughter to eat fish by calling it ‘Argentinian Chicken’. That worked for a long time until grandma came along and messed it up.”

    27. “Parents used to tell my only brother and I that we used to have another brother who turned into a mushroom from not taking a bath. Even added him to the family albums.”

    28. “My dad said if I could look after a special growing rock, and watered it each day until it stopped growing I could get a dog. I’d water it and every week, while I was at school he’d replace it with a slightly bigger rock.”

    33. “If you have the lights on in the car at night, the police will pull us over.”

    34. “If you don’t wipe your bum properly, it’ll close up and you’ll have to spit out your poop.”

    35. “My dad told me oil stains on the street were little kids that got run over because they didn’t hold anyone’s hand while crossing the street.”

    36. “To keep my sister and I busy my mom would tell us if we could kiss our elbow we would turn into the opposite sex..”

    37. “Burger King is for royalty.”

  • Her Leg Was Dragging- Hip Dysplasia

On the 24th July 2015, I gave birth to our daughter, she was absolutely perfect in every way, BUT when we were discharged from the hospital, we weren’t given a sufficient Hip Check, at her six week check up, we were told there was absolutely nothing wrong with her hips and that she would grow to be able to walk, crawl and stand with ease. ( At this point we had never even heard of hip dysplasia).

Fast forward to 6months old, We noticed when she was crawling, her left leg was dragging, and when she was using her jumperoo, she’d always slouch to the side, we thought that maybe she just liked to weight bear on the right side, but it continued, i booked an appointment with our local gp who in turn was concerned and sent us to the hospital for an xray of the hip/pelvis.
It was confirmed that our little girl had Developmental Dysplasia of the Left hip,the right was absolutely fine, and  because her hip socket was so shallow, her left femur was growing out of place ( in fact she didnt even have a fully formed hip socket or ball!) and was a lot longer than the right.
Just before her 1st birthday, we were sent to Derriford hospital, where they tried to performed what they call a closed reduction of the hip socket, they put dye into the hip and found that there was a LOT of cartialage that was in the way, so we were sent home with another date for a more complex operation.
In September 2016, Our girl underwent a 6 hour operation to cut her femur to size, they removed most of the cartialage, and created a whole new hip really! after this, she was put into a spica cast, a type of cast that allows the hip to heal at the correct angle ( She seemed to have frog legs!) this was for a timeframe of 8 weeks, we were told she would not be able to crawl, or climb, but that didnt stop her at all!

Our surgeon was incredibly suprised! It was really hard for us when she was casted, we couldnt get her in the car, we had to make her pram suitable for her and we needed a lot of equipment to help her out, Luckily, she never ever made a fuss!

When it came to our next appointment, they took her cast off!!!

i dont think ive ever cried at a pair of legs in my whole life, i dont know weather it was that i had the whole of my baby back or the fact id noticed her two HUGE scars ( they have faded luckily).

She was wobbly for weeks, it was like having a newborn all over again!

Despite all of this, 2 months later, she stood up and walked! which amazed us even more!
Unfortunatley, 6 months after casting we went back for an xray, and there is still one last operation to go, we are prepared for this, and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

I could not thank her surgeon enough, he’s kept us in the loop,he’s  given support and most of all,he’s  helped our baby!!

I just wanted to share this, as i think hip dysplasia is still really unheard of, and i really really hope that mummies and daddies going through this now, will read this and realise, our babies are incredible, brave and damn right awesome! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

  • Women Discovers She Has Been Raped Whilst She Slept… By Her HUSBAND!

A man in his 30s from Newcastle has been jailed for 9 years for raping his wife whilst she slept.

The couple had known each other for over 10 years and he was fully aware that his wife was an extremely deep sleeper if she’d had a drink.

The victim only discovered the husbands horrible crimes against her when she looked at videos on his phone and saw herself being raped.

The court heard the videos varied in length from 30 seconds to two minutes and each showed a different occasion of the man raping or abusing his sleeping wife.  All videos have now been destroyed.

    Newcastle Crown Court

The man pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court to three counts of rape, one of assault by penetration, one of attempted rape and one of sexual assault and has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.

In a statement, the traumatised victim said her life had been left in tatters as she struggled to come to terms with what her husband had done.

She said: “In March 2017, I discovered my husband had been sexually abusing me.  Since that day, my life and that of our children has been completely turned upside down in ways I still cannot come to terms with.”

  • Man Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Boy

An American transgender man has given birth to a healthy baby boy.

Trystan Reese, from Portland, Oregon, was born female but started taking hormones almost a decade ago but stopped when he got pregnant and has now given birth to a son, Leo.

Reese has previously suffered a miscarriage the last time he got pregnant and thought he had missed his chance to have children of his own.

Leo is the first biological child for Trystan Reese and his husband, Biff Chaplow, and joins the happy family with two adopted children.

“I would say it’s unique. I understand that people are not used to two men having a biological child,” Mr Reese told Fox News.

The couple shared this beautiful picture on Facebook.

“The moment he was born was just like a pure moment of bliss, like the happiest moment of my life. To see the very beginning of Leo, of his life, was just like amazing,” Mr Chaplow added.

The happy family said their friends and family have supported them throughout but they have unfortunately received some backlash from people online.

  • I Never Wanted ‘Mummy Friends’

Gylisa Jayne’s Facebook post is going viral and it’s clear to see why.  She tells us of her situation and for so many parents it is far too familiar.  Too many of us think we can do things alone, or that we should suffer in silence.  This is simply not the case.

I never wanted ‘ Mummy Friends’.

I didn’t want to sit in noisy soft plays, or talk about different coloured shit.

I didn’t want to have knowledge about best nappy brands, or know exactly how many fanny stitches we all had.

I had a preconceived idea that Mummy Groups were vicious cliques, and I hadn’t been in one at school – I didn’t plan to start now.

I didn’t need them anyway, I had my soul mate – my baby daddy. The man I had chosen for this journey. He would be there for everything. I didn’t need anyone else.

Then I had a baby, and I needed someone.

The network I should have had, simply wasn’t there.

My midwives were too busy, I hadn’t met any of them twice.
My Health Visitor was a vanishing woman – still talking about phone numbers and triages and children’s centres id never heard of as she walked herself out. Never to be seen again.

Then there was my partner. My chosen mate. The first love of my life. The man that knew what I needed before I did.

Only he didn’t understand me anymore.
He was trying to figure out his Dad Role.
He didn’t understand why I was crying
about putting the kettle in the fridge. 🙈
He didn’t know why I’d forgotten to take the parcels to the post office.
He didn’t know why I had no love left over for him.

    I didn’t want ‘ Mummy Friends’.
Until I realised that no one else would understand me like they did.

The ones that had been there, done that.
The ones that were fumbling through for the first time – just like me.
The ones who had had every argument you can imagine with their husband.
The ones proving you didn’t need to lose yourself along the way. That you’ll find a new you as you go.

The ones who needed me just as much as I needed them.

I made them laugh, and they made me howl with our observations of this bizarrely fabulous and horrendous journey.

There was no clique, just women loving women – despite what you might have heard.

I had love left over for my partner again then. Because he might not get it – but there were scores of women that did.

    So I didn’t want ‘Mummy Friends’…

    I needed them.

  • Life Is To Short To Keep Saying NO

Mum shares a really important message after nearly losing her daughter…

‘Life is way too short to say NO all of the time. This time last year she asked me if she could have pink hair and I said no. A few days later at a camp they were doing a demonstration involving fire and something went wrong and it caught her on fire. She had horrible burns over 70% of her body. This time last year we were in the hospital with her not knowing if she was going to live or not. So this time when she asked me if she could have pink hair, I said yes. That experience taught me you never know how much time you have left, with anyone. So say yes more often, and don’t care if anyone thinks your child with pink hair is ridiculous !! 😍😍🤓🤓 (within reason lol)
