  • Best Way To Explain The Truth About Santa

Son: “Dad, I think I’m old enough to know now. Is there a Santa Claus?” Not being the world’s fastest thinker, I stalled for time.

Dad: “OK, I agree that you’re old enough. But before I tell you, I have a question for you. You see, the truth is a dangerous gift. Once you know something, you can’t un-know it. Once you know the truth about Santa Claus, you will never again understand and relate to him as you do now. So my question is: Are you sure you want to know?”

Brief pause. Son: “Yes. I want to know.”

Dad: “OK, I’ll tell you: Yes, there IS a Santa Claus.”

Son: “Really?” Dad: “Yes, really, but he’s not an old man with a beard in a red suit. That’s just what we tell kids. You see, kids are too young to understand the true nature of Santa Claus, so we explain it to them in a way that they can understand. The truth about Santa Claus is that he’s not a person at all; he’s an idea. Think of all those presents Santa gave you over the years. I actually bought those myself. I watched you open them. And did it bother me that you didn’t thank me? Of course not! In fact it gave me great pleasure. You see, Santa Claus is THE IDEA OF GIVING FOR THE SAKE OF GIVING, without thought of thanks or acknowledgement.

When I saw that woman collapse on the subway last week and called for help, I knew that she’d never know that it was me who summoned the ambulance. I was being Santa Claus when I did that.”

    Son: “Oh.”

Dad: “So now that you know, you’re part of it. You have to be Santa Claus too now. That means you can never tell a young kid the secret, and you have to help us select Santa presents for them, and most important, you have to look for opportunities to help people. Got it?”

  • Parents Abandon Baby With ‘Disfigured’ Face, But Look At Him 30 Now

Treacher Collins syndrome is a genetic disorder affecting 1 in every 50,000 people. It changes how bone and tissues of the face develop, generally affecting cheekbones, jaws, and chins in particular.

Treacher Collins syndrome results in facial abnormalities, but it does not affect a child’s intelligence. So, when it comes to getting bullied, these kids are aware of exactly what is going on.

Jono Lancaster is probably the most famous person with Treacher Collins syndrome.

During the 2015 NORD Breakthrough Summit, Jono explained, “I was born with a genetic condition that affects my facial features. I have no cheekbones, and so my eyes dip down. I love my little ears, they don’t get cold at night. But I do need hearing aids.

He currently has 12.4k Twitter followers, 61.2k Instagram followers, and a whopping 84.4k followers on Facebook but he’s also had an extremely challenging life.

Thirty-six hours after he was born, Jono was given up by his biological parents because of the way he looked. At the 2015 Nord Conference, he explained:

“When I was born, [my birth parents] were in total shock. I was out of the hospital 36 hours after I was born. Social services found someone to look after me. The foster carer was a lady called Jean.”

Jean labored to reconnect Jono with his biological parents, but her letters were returned unanswered, and on May 18th, 1990, Jean adopted Jono herself.

Despite having found a loving guardian, growing up was hard for Jono. In an interview with Adelaide Now, Jono says:

“I kind of felt like I was on my own, and I felt like I was the only one out in the world that was like me. People are lucky enough to win the lottery or they become professional footballers, doctors, lawyers, but, why did I have to end up looking like this?”

Feeling alone had a profound effect on Jono, who now travels all around the world, visiting children affected by various disabilities.

Not only has Juno managed to become a source of hope and inspiration for ‘differently abled’ children around the world, he has also—shockingly, to some— managed to find love in a beautiful blonde named Laura.

The couple has recently bought a house in Normanton, West Yorkshire, where Jono works with individuals with autism, and continues being an inspiration to people everywhere.

BBC actually made a documentary starring Jocko, called Love Me, Love My Face. It covers his story and chronicles him attempting to reconnect with his biological parents.

  • Midwives Will Be Talking About This For Months

“Your external world is a direct reflection of your inner world. You create with your thoughts, beliefs and emotions!
Knowing this and being conscious of this, is so POWERFUL.
What thoughts are you thinking? If you think that thought often enough it will become a belief which will make itself so comfortable deep in your subconscious, you won’t even know it’s there!

That belief will get you to make choices and decisions to prove that, that belief is true! Then when you experience something which proves the belief is true you will say things like ‘See it IS true!’
Throughout my pregnancy with Ashani, many people told me horror stories of labour! ‘It’s SOOOOO painful’ ‘Your downstairs will never be the same again!’ ‘It’s pain like you have never felt before!’
Every time someone told me what ‘they’ believed or experienced, I silently said to myself ‘I choose NOT to believe that will happen to me, I will have the most amazing labour that midwives will be talking about it for months and months and it will be the best experience I have EVER had!’ Every time someone shared their horrific experiences and their perception of it, I had the opportunity to reinforce my positive belief.
I had 9 months of reinforcing my belief and imagining my amazing labour experience. My powerful self-belief drove me to my powerful choices and decisions which led to 13 hours of the most peaceful beautiful labor! It was even better than I had imagined or believed it would be.
Did the midwives talk about this incredible labour for months after? Absolutely! My sister Nina Vyas was delivering her baby 5 months later and the midwife was talking about my labour!

What thoughts are you thinking? Good ones or bad ones? If you’re not sure, take a peek at your current reality and check in with yourself. Do you feel good? or do you feel bad?
