  • This Pill Made Me Go Blind And Have A Stroke

    Ok so thought I’d share. I’m aware pills work differently for everybody, but I’ve seen loads of articles on this pill affecting girls. I’ve been on this pill 3 months.

    Last night I experienced the worst thing in my life – my eyes started fitting and I went blind for 10-15 mins. Didn’t think much of it (I never have anything happen to me) and I went to sleep. I’ve been having migraines for a few months so just thought it was to do with that.

    Well, I woke up this morning, I felt dizzy & sick, lost feeling in my right arm and my legs were weak. I text my friend who asked to see my face & I was ill but Not drooping (looking for signs of a stroke). At this point I’m just thinking I’m coming down with something.

    My friend got me to phone 111 (I had to twice as I got worse) who advised me to go to hospital ASAP. So, I got to hospital and saw a doctor. Turns out, I was in the early stages of having a stroke & if I had left it and continued to take this pill for a few more days, I would have had a stroke.

    At 21 years old, it’s the last thing you expect and I still do not feel myself. I am aware the pill works different for everybody, however I have seen A LOT on this one, and I was even questioning whether to when I first went on it.

    Thankfully, I went to hospital and know the cause. If I had ignored it and continued to taking the pill, I would have had a stroke.

  • The Devastating Affects Of A Stroke

    Some of you will know us, many of you won’t. Below, on the left, is a picture of me and my husband Geoff from November 2018, all dressed up ready for a going ‘out out’ evening.

    On the right is me and him yesterday in Queens Hospital. Why you might ask? Well let me tell you our story and ask that you please share it far and wide to help raise awareness of the catastrophe that struck us almost 3 weeks ago.

    Geoff was a very fit, 48 year old man who adored and worked hard for his family as most of us do. He went to the gym 3 times a week, didn’t have high BP or cholestrerol, never smoked, ate reasonably healthy and drank alcohol in moderation. On 28th March, I came downstairs to find he had had what we very quickly discovered to be a hemorrhagic stroke, the worse kind and one which only strikes around 15% of people.

    In the early hours of Saturday 30th March, he underwent an emergency life saving craniectomy at Queens in Romford, the most specialist for Neuro in the South and possibly the country. As a result he now only really has the right side of his skull and a little on the left.

    He remained in Neuro critical care for 11 days before being transferred to the acute ward at Queens where he is waiting for a bed on Broomfield’s stroke ward to begin his rehabilitation. It is looking likely that he will be transferred after some time and after a cranioplasty to replace his skull, to a specialist rehab unit where they will hopefully be able to work on his major impairments more closely.

    This time last week, he was still on a ventilator in critical care. In his 4 days on the acute ward, his progress has been simply astounding. He has some speech, but not much understanding, he can play games, he can draw, he can sing, he can feed himself and most importantly, he can say ‘I love you’. The three little words that are thrown around so much but not always with real meaning.

    Our road ahead is a majorly long one and one we never dreamed we would travel as this wasn’t how our lives were ‘meant to be’. Geoff and I have only been together for 11 years and married for nearly 9. He truly is my soulmate and my best friend, I’m not posting this for sympathy. I want to share my story with you all to raise awareness of the devastating effects of stroke and offer you the advice to hug and love those near and dear to you just that little bit tighter.   • My Husband And His Energy Drink Addiction

    Brianna and Austin were so excited to meet their new baby boy. 

    But one morning, Austin’s mum phoned with life changing news.“Austin had an accident” she told the worrier mum to be.

    After a long drive to the hospital, Brianna learned that Austin had had a brain hemorrhage.

     But the reason behind the sudden horror was just as unexpected.

    Austin had been drinking energy drinks ever since he’d started picking up over time and had to commute more regularly.

    Brianna learned that Austin had had a brain hemorrhage. But the reason behind the sudden horror was just as unexpected.

    It became a regular habit and soon, Austin was drinking them excessively. Doctors say they’re ultimately what caused Austin’s brain hemorrhage.

    Brianna said Austin had to have a lot of brain surgery to save his life, everyone was terrified. 

    Following this were strokes, seizures, swelling, and more things we weren’t prepared for.

    “Then the time had come for me to deliver our baby”.

    “I’m not going to lie to anyone, it was so hard. I had planned on Austin being a part of this huge moment. Being by my side. Holding my hand. Being there to cut the cord. Being there to welcome our son into the world. It didn’t feel right”.

    “But a beautiful miracle happened as I delivered our son. Austin woke up”.

    Austin was still too weak to see his son and was in and out of consciousness.

    Brianna said ” At a little over 2 months old, our son finally met his dad. A day I wasn’t sure I would ever see. That was the day that my heart gained some of its happiness back.

    Some time after that he could finally come home to me. Our life isn’t normal. There are doctors visits and hospital trips — so many that I lose count”.

    “But we are here. Fighting”.

  • Heat Stroke Doesn’t Always Happen In Direct Sunlight

    THIS was my evening, this was the scariest moment I’ve had to imagine, THIS is severe heatstroke. 

    There is nothing scarier than not being able to wake your baby up. THIS is clear proof a child doesn’t need to be in the sun to get heat stroke. It took us 20 minutes to wake her up, when ambulance came, they came with investigators because they didn’t know what to expect as did I. 

    This was proof how fast things change. Anastasia put herself for a nap, I had no idea how hot her bedroom was until I went to wake her up soaked in sweat, red face, boiling and unable to wake her for 15 minutes, ambulance arrived faster then I could have ever imagined and took her sugars which were 1.2 and should be above 4, they administered sucrose and in minutes she started crying clearly scared.

     No it is not my fault this happened to her but it is hard not to blame yourself, this is a lesson learnt & hopefully other parents can take something from this & make sure you are checking the rooms in your house because thy can be as dangerous as a hot car. Still I’m shook and I can’t imagine what would have happened if I didn’t go check on her. We definitely had god on our side yesterday and I am thankful for emergency services and Jay who came as fast as possible to keep me together. ❤️💕🔥
