Please Stay Home And Protect The NHS

PLEASE SHARE!! so going back 6 weeks the week before lock down Freddie became not himself. He had a high fever and a rash all over him so I took him to the doctors and it was suspected scarlet fever.

He was given some meds which I found extremely hard to give him. He wasn’t eating, wasn’t drinking, drowsy and just completely not with it at all. Anyone that knows freddie knows how extremely hyper and loud he is. I took him to the doctors the Thursday and he went to his dads that night.

The next day Friday we took him to the sick kids as he really just wasn’t himself and they told us it’s just a bad case of scarlet fever he would be on the mend in a few days. Then Sunday came and it sounds so horrible to say but he just looked like a zombie.

His nose was bleeding out of no where and he was completely out of it. The whites of his eyes were bright red, it just seemed like there was no life to him. So I took him back to sick kids and the lady I seen told me again it was a bad case of scarlet fever. She couldn’t see a problem with him as he was responding to her when she asked him questions (when you’re a mum you know your child and know when there’s something not right at all). At this point though

Freddie was point blank refusing to take the medication at all so they changed the dose down to a smaller dose. I tried everything possible to give him these meds but he just wouldn’t take them. Monday came and he still just looked horrendous. The rash that he had started to spread all over his face. So again took him back to the sick where we actually got kept in this time as he was refusing the meds completely.

We got put into a room for isolation as we were still under the assumption it was scarlet fever. Freddie was kept in hospital Monday to Friday. On the Wednesday we got moved to a ward as they no longer thought it was scarlet fever and they thought he actually had Kawasaki disease. Kawasaki disease is a disease that only affects 8 in 100000 children in the uk. He wasn’t actually tested for it but he did have a heart scan which confirmed the the valves to his heart had swollen.

They also found a heart murmur that had never been picked up before but this could’ve just been because of how unwell he was. Freddie is fully on the mend now. The week after Freddie was in hospital I was really unwell had lost all sense of taste and smell and had a bad cough with sweats. I didn’t think much of it because it wasn’t much worse than the general cold.

I’m writing this post to raise awareness over this severity of this illness and to urge you to stay home. This was the worst week of my life. Freddie has had his fair share of hospital visits but this was nothing like this week we had. Please stay home, save lives and protect the NHS.

EDIT – although Freddie is completely back to him self hes been on Asprin since being home. He’s not been able to hold his pee, Freddie was potty trained well over a year ago and never had a problem never had accidents never wet the bed. Since having Kawasaki he struggles to hold his pee at any time and we are dealing with a lot of accidents, he also has a continuous rash that looks like eczema on his stomach and back which he didn’t have before Kawasaki either.

Warning To Dog Owners-Alabama Rot Disease

Warning to dog owners as several cases of deadly Alabama Rot is confirmed!

Alabama Rot, also known as CRGV (cutaneous and renal glomerular vasculopathy) is an increasingly common disease in dogs.

It causes damage to blood vessels of the skin, and also to the kidneys, and dogs with the disease can suffer from skin ulcers, acute kidney failure and even death.

Two new cases of the deadly dog disease have now been confirmed, including the first ever in Essex.

The cases were confirmed by Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists with one in Manningtree and the other recorded in Ivybridge, Devon.

In total the UK has now seen 188 confirmed cases across 39 counties since 2012, with 52 cases in 2018 and 13 in 2019 so far.

The advice to dog owners is that, while the disease is still very rare, vets are still warning dog owners to remain calm but vigilant.

Owners are advised to seek advice from their local vet if their dog develops unexplained skin lesions.

What steps should I take to protect my dog?

While there isn’t a known cause of the disease, there are ways to give your dog the best possible chance of avoiding Alabama Rot:

* Know the warning signs – This is key to treating the disease. If caught early then your vet can evaluate if your dog has contracted CRGV.

* Wash off woodland mud – The majority of cases are reported after dogs are taken for walks in muddy, woodland areas. Make sure you wash your dog thoroughly to ensure all woodland mud has been removed following a walk.

* Check for symptoms – Always be on the look out for the common symptoms, and if you’re in any doubt call the vet.

Tragic Story Of 15 Year Old Sean-Sepsis Awareness

This is the tragic story of 15 Yr old Sean Hughes 💔

Sean died on Friday 12th of January 2018 from Sepsis

Sean had been Suffering with a Cough & Flu like symptoms leading up to his death. His mother Karen said

“He hadn’t been well but he’d had colds and chest infections before and shook them off”

Sean attended his GP 2 Days prior to his death where he was diagnosised with a chest infection and he was prescribed antibiotics. On the Thursday night while lying on the couch watching tv Sean fell unconscious. He was brought to the hospital and transferred to ICU but sadly died on the Friday Morning

🔻Feeling the worst you have ever felt or a gut feeling something is seriously wrong

🔻High Respiratory rate-Feeling short of breath

🔻High Temperature- Shivering/Chills -temperature over 38 degrees

🔻Low Temperature- Temperature below 36.0 degrees

🔻High heart rate- Heart feels like it is racing or pounding

🔻Nausea & Vomiting

🔻Diarrhoea

🔻Feeling Tired, Sleepy or difficult to wake

🔻Dizziness

🔻Mottled Skin -Skin can be Pale but also can be bluish in color, hands & Feet are cold to touch

🔻Confusion or disorientation

🔻Headache

🔻Pain or general discomfort/aches in body

🔻A Rash that doesn’t fade when you press a glass on it

🔻Low urine output not “weeing” much

Parents Need To Be Aware Of This!

Sian Rachael Ball is desperate to make other parents aware and to be vigilant and know the signs of the thing that made her son ill.

Ball said “For all other mums, I’ve worked in a few nurseries and school and have never heard of this. My son got sick on Sunday (it’s now Wednesday) he was sick and had this rash on his legs. Took him to the doctors only to be told they didn’t know what it was, probably just a skin infection, They gave him antibiotics And was told he could go back to school. Next day at school he has come out crying and had to be carried all the way home because he couldn’t walk! School forced him to sit down even when he said he was in pain! (Will be speaking to them tomorrow) took straight to the hospital and been diagnosed with henoch scholein purpura (hps) he will now have to have his kidneys tested for the next 12 months as it’s in the same category as meningitis!

Apparently more common in boys and common in the ages of 2-10 years.im posting the information as this can just happen to any child! And feel like this should be known to parents just as much as meningitis! Now have a very poorly son that has many doctors appointments to attend and off school of up to 6 weeks. but luckily we got a second opinion!

Our Beautiful Jenny- Septicaemia Awareness

Our angel jenny

Our beautiful baby girl jenny spent her first Xmas with her family. Her mum, dad, big sister, brother, her twin little sister and her nana. Jenny spent most of the day being very nosey. We opened gifts cooked dinner and had family time together. We had a lovely day.

At night we all got ready for bed. Jenny spent most of the night unsettled. So she slept next to me she loved to cuddle in. The next morning jenny was still unsettled so we put this down to her being tired.

I put jenny for a nap. When she woke at 1 I went to get her bottle. Dad cuddled her in and noticed she felt hot. So I grabbed the thermometer and checked. She had a temp or 38.9. I rang nhs 24 straight away. During the phone call I repeatedly checked Jenny’s temperature The numbers varied. Other than the temperature jenny was off her feeds that day.

I got through to nhs 24 ran through all there questions. They said as jenny was running a temperature and was only 11 weeks. Also because she was premature they would like to see her at 5.50 that evening.

We striped jenny down to her vest to keep her cool. And cuddled her in she was not to fussy about her bottle we just kept trying her with.

Jenny had a nap with her twin sister that afternoon. As they did all the time. At 4.30 we were eating some dinner before jennys appointment when she woke. Our friend was here at this point to take us to jennys appointment. So he cuddled her in and talked to her. He noticed that she had a rash appearing before him on jennys face.

I went over and had a look and could also see the rash. I went to change her bum and it was everywhere. The rate of this rash was so fast. It was spreading in front of me. Jenny had been in her bed since 1. And there had not been one single spot until now. I did the glass test right away some of the rash would disappear and some not.

So we went to hospital right away. Within 10 mins we had seen a doctor then were transferred to the children’s unit.

At the children’s unit the fitted jenny with a cannula took bloods and gases. They told us looked like a bug could be a serious bug or not so serious one. They Give her antibiotics right away and some fluids. She seemed to perk up.

I sat cuddled into her telling her everything was going be ok. The doctors had giving her medication so she would be better soon. We were put on a ward by ourselves.

They came to check jenny 10 mins later and said that she was not responding the way they would like her to. From that point everything seemed to happen so fast. They said it looked like meningitis.

Jenny was soon surrounded by a team of 16 doctors, nurses, consultants people from the neonatal team.

They hooked her to all sorts of machines. Put jenny in a coma give her pain medication. They gave her x-rays to check her organs. They took over her breathing. Put her on a heated bed as they struggled to keep her warm as se could not maintain a stable temperature. That team of people worked incredibly hard to save jenny.

We were waiting on a specialist team coming from Edinburgh to take jenny there. We were told that it looked like jenny would not make it and to try prepare for that.

At 2.00am jenny started to crash they took turns performing cpr. They told us if some miracle they could save her. Jenny would not be the same baby girl we had. After 20 mins of cpr. The doctors advised that they could do no more for jenny. The kindest thing we could do is turn the machine of and let jenny die in our arms.

We had minster come and bless jenny. Then 2.40 the machine was turned of. We took jenny to our private room and i held her in my arms until she died. At 2.50am the doctors came to check jenny and announced jenny had now passed away.

Sadly after only 11 weeks and 3 days our princess had died from meningitis b and septicemia.

Meningitis and septicemia kills. It took our beautiful baby jenny away from us so quickly.

Please keep an eye out for symptoms you may get some or all of them. Jenny only had the temperature and was of feeds until the rash appeared. Her are the symptoms. Knowing these could save a life.

Little Ones Nappies By Sainsburys Burning Babies

Mums advice have recently been contacted by a concerned father whose baby has been hurt by LITTLE ONES NAPPIES BY SAINSBURYS.

Mr.Alan Jackson has done some digging a discovered he is not alone.

Jackson told Mums advice “I recently posted on “baby deals UK group ” regarding a severe reaction my baby has had to sainsbury own brand nappies ,after several hundred replies (mostly people saying similar ) a lady posted a link to a similar situation involving a baby who had to be admitted to hospital and a bad batch of these nappies being sold .

No sooner had I read it the post was removed and deleted.

So as a warning I am posting the batch number to the nappies we purchased in case anyone else has similar problems.

It has just been confirmed from one parent that sainsburys are aware of this issue with their nappys at of the end of October and began an investigation yet these nappys are still for sale !!!

Stevie Jones posted about these exact nappies all the way back in April, yet nothing has been done to take these nappies off of the shelves.

Another one in August, Jessica Atkinsons took to Facebook with concerns over little ones nappies from Sainsburys.

All the way back in April again, Anne Dixon doesn’t mince her words and gets straight to the point and warns others to steer clear of this product.

This is a message posted directly to Sansburys but many people don’t feel that they are taking the claims seriously enough.

Christine Stoker’s son had chemical burns due to these nappies, how are they still for sale this has been going on for months

Below are some photos of what these nappies are doing to babies, we haven’t included them all due to nudity etc, but some images are far more extreme that these.

Now we understand that every baby is different and you may well be using them with no issues, but we want to make people aware of this products and then you can make up your own mind whether or not to use them.

You Will Never Guess What He Is Allergic to

Now we normally associate allergies, to nuts, dairy and the norm like washing powder, pet hair etc.

Some of which are deadly.

So when I received a call to collected my 3 year old son from a birthday party because he had a rash and was vomited, I assumed he had a viral infection, only when he started struggling to breathe did I realise we were in real danger.

We rushed to hospital to be told he was having a severe allergic reaction.

Once he was better they conducted numerous tests to try and determine what had caused it, I had to keep a food diary.

After 5 months we were still none the wiser and I was living in constant fear that we would discover what caused it by accident and my little lad could have another reaction.

One sunny Monday afternoon the ice cream van pulled up and my 3 children wanted to get a treat.

I was fine about it, knowing that my son had ice cream before and was fine, my other son asked if he could have a drink instead.

My eldest bought a fizzy orange drink he drank the majority and off he went to play on his laptop.

My little lad picked up the orange drink and drank the last few sips, within a matter of minutes the old rash appeared and I rushed him back to hospital… this time with the bottle of orange.

More tests were carried out and we discovered my lad is allergic to the Colouring (Beta Carotene).

I’m happy about this, it’s so easy to avoid and won’t effect his life as long as he checks labels.

I’ve never met another child allergic to fizzy orange.

Kids Make You Look Like A Liar

Kids make you liars

Ok so most people at some point will have a child who looks like death warmed up, not eating, not drinking, lethargic.

All attempts of calpol, snacks and small amounts of fluid but nope, this kid is very ill.

This child doesn’t want to play, just wants to lay there, he looks pale, but he’s hot, he has a rash on his stomach.

Ok it’s time to get this kid to the hospital he could have something seriously wrong, he’s never quiet, he’s never still.

He doesn’t wake up when carried out to the car, even going over the speed bumps, I run into the hospital like some sort of scene from a movie, child draped across my arms.

We are directed to the children’s waiting room, it’s full of colourful toys, tv in the corner and a colouring table.

Kid bursts back into action, running round like a looney.

Dancing to the theme tune of the tv program, stacking up books and pushing the toy truck on the floor.

Seriously Doctor he was really ill, he’s barely moved all day, he’s not eaten.

The Doctor brings him a digestive biscuit and he gobbles it down.

This child has the go to diagnoses of a viral infection.

I am now a big fat liar making out my kid is so so so ill but shock horror he’s had a miraculous recovery
