  • This Pill Made Me Go Blind And Have A Stroke

    Ok so thought I’d share. I’m aware pills work differently for everybody, but I’ve seen loads of articles on this pill affecting girls. I’ve been on this pill 3 months.

    Last night I experienced the worst thing in my life – my eyes started fitting and I went blind for 10-15 mins. Didn’t think much of it (I never have anything happen to me) and I went to sleep. I’ve been having migraines for a few months so just thought it was to do with that.

    Well, I woke up this morning, I felt dizzy & sick, lost feeling in my right arm and my legs were weak. I text my friend who asked to see my face & I was ill but Not drooping (looking for signs of a stroke). At this point I’m just thinking I’m coming down with something.

    My friend got me to phone 111 (I had to twice as I got worse) who advised me to go to hospital ASAP. So, I got to hospital and saw a doctor. Turns out, I was in the early stages of having a stroke & if I had left it and continued to take this pill for a few more days, I would have had a stroke.

    At 21 years old, it’s the last thing you expect and I still do not feel myself. I am aware the pill works different for everybody, however I have seen A LOT on this one, and I was even questioning whether to when I first went on it.

    Thankfully, I went to hospital and know the cause. If I had ignored it and continued to taking the pill, I would have had a stroke.

  • This Contraception Made Me Suicidal

    I would like to raise awareness of rigevidon, rigevidon is a combined oral contraceptive, also called the pill. It contains two types of female hormones: an oestrogen, ethinylestradiol, and a progestogen.

    Six months ago I moved over 100 miles away from my home town for my husbands work, we have three children together and we are not sure if we would like more children in the future, I saw my Gp and was put on rigevidon to prevent us conceiving another child but leaving the option open to have future babies.

    Within two weeks of being on this tablet I was depressed, contemplated taking my own life and couldn’t see the joy in anything, at first I put me feeling like this due to moving away and all the changes that had come with it plus missing my family and friends.

    One week later and I found myself so anxious that it mimicked the symptoms of a heart attack, I was depressed enough to ind myself crying all the time, I lost all sex drive and found it nearly impossible to sleep without terrifying nightmares and over thinking situations.

    One night I sat by my children’s bed all night as i thought that something was going to take them away, that night I realised it wasn’t moving away from my hoe town which was making me feel like this I was losing the plot.

    I went to Dr.Google and discovered thousands and thousands of other woman who have experienced similar effects after being on this brand of pill.

    I then booked a proper doctors appointment only to be told I had depression, I stopped taking the pill and my husband and I agreed to use condoms, 72 hours after taking the last pill my moods began to lift, my tear dried up and I began to feel like my old self again.

    I’m not saying everyone will have the same side effects when taking this pill but I came this close to taking my own life and I would hate to think of another woman feeling the way I did.

    Yesterday we announced the birth of one of Mums advice admins giving birth to her miracle baby, and the fact she didn’t have a clue she was pregnant.

    Many of you have spoken with our admin who signs her name xsusanx and she would like to share with you her true life christmas miracle.

    Susan and her partner Paul have been together for nearly 17 years, they had two children together Lucy Ann aged 15 and Liam aged 2 1/2.

    The last year has been no different to any other, the couple were busy working and being parents to their two children and preparing for christmas and Susan spent a lot of time on mums advice helping us to run our successful Facebook page.

    Yesterday at around 1pm Susan began experience abdomen cramps and was in a lot of pain,Susan tried taking pain killers and laying down but nothing helped and at 2pm Susan couldn’t take it anymore and asked Paul to take her to her local hospital.

    Susan explained her pains to the doctor and she was placed onto a monitor and was told the shocking news that she was in labour.

    Susan and Paul looked at each other in disbelief but didn’t have much time to think about it as Susan was in active labour, At 2;34pm the shocked couple welcomed to the world a healthy baby girl.

    Susan and paul called her Taylor Rose, Doctors believed Susan was 8 1/2 months gestation, Taylor Rose was taken to be examined and at presents doctors believe she is healthy and fine despite no monitoring or checks during the pregnancy, Taylor Rose weighs a very healthy 7ib 2oz.

    Susan told us that for the past 8 months she has gained a small amount of weight but put that down to going on to the contraception pill, she has had no heartburn or cravings, continued to have a period every month which was slightly lighter than normal but again put this down to the pill.

    Susan also shared another shocking revelation her and partner Paul last had sex in April.

    Susans eldest daughter Lucy Ann has been to the hospital to visit her new baby sister,  she is very proud of her mum and amazed  to have a new baby sister, Liam has yet to meet Taylor Rose but has kissed a photo of the new addition.

    Susan and Taylor Rose currently remain in the hospital under observation but they are hoping to be allowed home tomorrow, Susan has been visited by the mental health team to check she is okay and happy to have a new child, although Susan feels it’s all unreal she is absolutely over the moon to have a wonderful newborn.

     

    Susan said she has been blown over  with the wonderful offers of support from family, friends and strangers rallying around and buying all the essentials for the new arrival, Mums advice admin had a whip round and also sent some money to help towards getting Taylor Rose some little bits.

    Susan has experienced some negativity though with people stating that she must have known or she deliberately kept it a secret, or the best one yet that as she is admin of a mum group surely she would have known.

    As Susan says had she known she would have had more time to prepare for the baby and also Liam her very young son would be more aware of what was happening. 

    Susan and Paul luckily are very happy to have a new baby and Susan says she has no regrets as she doesn’t smoke or drink but wishes she had a bit more notice.

    We all wish the family a very merry Christmas its one to remember and I’m sure will be brought up every Christmas for the rest of Taylor Rose’s life.
