  • Mama Go Out And Have Some Fun

I used to be the wild girl, could have four or five drinks and be dancing like no ones watching. My feet would have been overworked so much that I’d stop feeling the pain. I had confidence to talk to anyone, had more energy then anyone should. I was thin. I could go into any shop, picked what I liked and walk out without trying it on. I didn’t worry about later, or tomorrow. I had late nights and slept through mornings.

    Then I had kids !! …

Alcohol means hangovers and there is no time for them. Sleep is so precious. I’m way too tired to dance, I wear practical shoes. My idea of a good night is watching Netflix in my jammies. I have early nights and wake up before morning. My heart is more full than it’s ever been… BUT…

It all kinda makes me feel invisible. I am invisible. And that can hurt. There are still parts of the old me that I miss. It’s like this – you are born alone, you spend years developing who you are, becoming an independent woman… and then suddenly you become, someone’s mum, someone’s partner, someone who is too exhausted to enjoy life.

That’s why mums need breaks. That’s why when things get too much you need and you needn’t feel guilty for having the time to retreat from that life and become you again. When your life becomes beautiful and loved up but also relentless, you deserve to be you again. In any way that is. Exercise, partying, prosecco with the girls. Any way you won’t feel invisible anymore.

There is no such thing as “now I’m a mum I can’t do those things” it’s even more reason to do them! Don’t lose your spark. She’s still in there. You’ll come back… you’ll be the old you again… but in sensible shoes 💖

  • My Nans Last Wish At 103

When my Nana was put on hospice, the nurse asked her what her goals were. She replied that she wanted to be at my wedding. They reluctantly told her they didn’t want her flying anymore (she was nearly 103 years old) and her heart was failing.

I knew in my heart she was trying to hang on to get there somehow. I decided to fly to her with my wedding dress, it was unaltered and didn’t fit yet but none of that mattered. I may have lied to my entire family about where I was that weekend, and I didn’t tell my friends so I could surprise everyone with these photos.

Words cannot explain how much these moments mean to me and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. Her smile and her laugh are forever etched in my mind and the love between us will live in my heart. This was one of the greatest days of my life. When I said goodbye to her that night, I think we both knew it would be the last time we would see each other.

She grabbed my cheeks with her hands, looked me straight in the eye and said “I love you very much” and 27 days later she passed away. I am so blessed to have this be my last memory with her. She was beyond an amazing woman! I love you Nana, always and forever!

  • Old Age Pention Is Not An Entitlement

PLEASE PASS THIS AROUND, UNTIL EVERY ONE HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO READ IT… THIS IS SURELY SOMETHING WE ALL NEED TO THINK ABOUT!!!!

THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT’S CALCULATION OF AVAILABLE PENSION IS THAT THEY FORGOT TO FIGURE IN ALL THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED OLD AGE PENSION.

WHERE DID ALL THAT MONEY GO?

Remember, not only did you and I contribute to our Pension, our employer did, too. It totalled 15% of your income before taxes.

If you averaged only £15 000 over your working life, that’s close to £220,500. Read that again. Did you see anywhere that the Government paid in one single penny?

We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to ensure that you and I would have a

retirement pension from the money we put in, it was not money that the Government had any right to spend elsewhere.

Now they’ve started to call the money we paid in an

‘entitlement’ when we reach the age to take it back.

If you calculate the future invested value of £2500 per year

    (yours & your employer’s contribution) at a simple 5%

interest (that’s less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows from overseas), after 49 years of working you’d have

    £892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you’d receive £26,787.60 per

year and it would last better than 30 years (that means until you’re 95 if you retire at age 65) and that’s with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!

If you bought an annuity with the money and it paid 4% per year, you’d have a lifetime income of £1976.40 per month.

THE CROOKS IN GOVERNMENT HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER ROBBERY THAN THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERS EVER DID.

    Entitlement!!??

My foot !! IT’S MY MONEY!! I paid IN cash for my pension.

Just because they borrowed the money to spend on other things, that doesn’t make my pension some kind of charity or handout!!

    Remember MP’s benefits? —

    free healthcare,

    outrageous retirement packages,

    67 days paid holidays,

    three weeks paid holidays,

    unlimited paid sick days.

Now that really should be called welfare entitlements, yet they have the nerve to call my O A P retirement payments entitlements?

We’re “broke” and the government can’t help our own OAPs, our ex-service personnel, our orphans or our homeless

Yet in the past few years we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, Turkey, India, Pakistan, etc., etc., etc. Literally, BILLIONS of Pounds !!!

But they can’t help our own citizens!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed old age pension have to beg social services to receive additional aid, while our government and religious organizations pour hundreds of billions of £££ tons of food to foreign countries!

They call the old age pension an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives, and now, when it’s time for us to collect, the government is running out of money.

Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

It was supposed to be in a securely locked box, not to be used as part of the Government’s general funds.

Sad, isn’t it, that some people won’t have the guts to forward

this. I’m in the category with guts enough to do it – – – and I just did.

I hope some of you will do the same.

  • Had My Mum Listened To Doctors My Sister Would Have Died

I’d like to tell you a story about Alder Hey…. My sister when she was 8 yrs old..was in that hospital and they told my mum .. It’s all in your daughters head, there’s nothing wrong with her, my mother insisted , demanded and banged her fist on the consultants table, I want you to do more tests she’s not putting it on, she’s in bad trouble and screams in pain with her neck, finally after months of them saying my sister wasn’t very poorly, she was found to have an inoperable tumour in her neck, she had to have chemotherapy, and my mother over heard a nurse saying ..”why don’t they let that little girl go home and die in peace” 😳

My sister continued to have radiation treatment and finally came home but my mother was told she would not survive it, although my sister has had numerous health issues over the years because of the effects of radiation and another flare of cancer can I just say that my sister is now 72 and defied all their odds…. So even years ago they got it so badly wrong at Alder hey, can you imagine if my mum had of listened to them and given up!!!

Parents if you feel that Doctors are wrong or you want more tests done do not just take a Doctors word for it, a mother’s instict is often right, some times even the most trained professional can be mistaken

  • I Trade In My Dogs When They Get Old

As a child I grew up with my two best friends Pebbles the Jack Russell and Chesney the west highland terrier.

Me and my dogs were so close i loved grooming them and taking them for walks and having them sleep at the foot of my bed.

Pebbles passed away when I was 11 and Chesney died when I was 14, each death broke me, I was devastated and my parents said no more pets.

Eventually I grew up and moved out with my now husband and went on to have two children but something was missing I needed a furry companion.

I bought Russell first he was such a welcome addition to our family, I was happy again.

But as Russell got older I knew that my beautiful boy only had a few years left in him, and I just couldn’t go through the pain of seeing him pass away.

I thought long and hard about what to do and decided I would find an older couple who would love Russell just as I did and replace him with a new dog, I then would not go through the pain of knowing when he passed away.

Next came Dexter a bundle of energy a fit and healthy pooch, my heart melted the first time I saw him. When he was eight I was left with the hard decision again, watch my baby age and die or have the ignorance is bliss again.

I Trade In My Dogs When They Get Old
I Trade In My Dogs When They Get Old

I found a rescue centre for Dexter which had the policy never to put a healthy dog down.

I am now on to Princess, the sweetest little lap dog, who is like a little baby she makes me so happy.

I Trade In My Dogs When They Get Old

I have received a lot of negativity towards my decision to trade in my pets, but unless you have been through the pain of seeing your dog pass away you won’t understand.

In my head all my dogs are still alive happy and with loving families.

Princess is four now and I’m getting on so she maybe my last dog but I won’t see it out til the end I can’t have that heartbreak

  • Carers Do You Hear Me?

When the chair is rocking slowly and the fading eye lids fall, when friends and family visits start to slow.It is my carer who I call.

I’m sorry, I know you’re busy but please don’t rush me dear, my legs are very tired and I can’t help but fear.

I press my buzzer, I call out, I shout, I wish you would come near, I know I’ve pressed it often but I am lonely here.

I cannot make it to the toilet and you have to change my pad, I didn’t mean to make a mess, please talk to me with dignity and tell me what you’re doing, turn me slowly, don’t push and shove.

When I’m laying in my bed and you are washing me, don’t talk to your colleague as if I’m not here, I like to hear about your children and to tell you about my life, I wasn’t always like this and I have so many stories running through my head.

You work such long hours and your pay is very small, but I am very thankful for all you do , when you smile and joke with me, when you comfort and calm me, when you sit with me and hold my hand, when you remember I am a person who sometimes doesn’t understand.
