  • One Bad Decision Can Change Lives, Seatbelt Awareness 

    I am writing this as I don’t think people totally understand the effects seat belts can have on your life. If it changes one persons opinions then I’ll be happy.


    One February a few years ago everything changed for me. I was asleep in bed when I received a phone call telling me my aunt and uncle were in hospital. They are very close to me and I was complete mess. 

    They were in a car accident, they were coming home at 12.30am from being out with some friends, coming down a country road slowly may I add due to weather conditions when suddenly they skidded on black ice and lost control of the car. 

    The car flipped into a ditch. Luckily my aunt and uncle walked away with a broken rib, some scratches and a lot of bruises, but they were safe and home the next day. 

    Their friend in the back seat wasn’t so lucky. My aunt and uncle  were not aware that he was not wearing his seatbelt for the journey, please bear in mind this was someone in their 50’s, when the car flipped he ended up with his head in the water at the top of the car.

    As soon as they got him out they took him to surgery to operate on his broken bones. The paramedics and medical staff were unaware that he has inhaled water. He died two days later of secondary drowning. 

    This is when everything changed, the house became a constant point filled with solicitors and police officers. News articles were posted with incorrect information, this caused further heartache. They were interviewed at home, at the police station over and over again, they felt like they were in the wrong. 

    Not only were my family mourning the loss of a close friend, they were also being accused of causing death by dangerous driving. 

    18 months later the final court hearing came, £3.5k in solicitors fees, the risk of losing a very high powered job and a lot of heartache later. The new judge laughed it out of court. It didn’t stop here though. 

    My families life has changed forever. My aunt who was driving has constant panic attacks when in the car with other people, she has become constantly anxious about people wearing seatbelts, she is also having counselling and on strong anti depressants. 

    It kills me even writing this. I would love the carefree woman I once knew back. But please be aware in the inquest his chances of survival would of doubled if he wore a seatbelt. All this pain over a seatbelt. Is it worth it?

  • Teenager who convinced her boyfriend to commit suicide is JAILED

    Michelle Carter was handed two-and-a-half years in prison on Thursday. The judge said Carter will only have to serve 15 months and the rest of the sentence will be suspended.

    Conrad Roy was 18-years-old when he committed suicide after his girlfriend, Michelle Carter, who was 17-years-old at the time, encouraged him to kill himself then continued to listened to his last minutes but did not call the police for help.

    Carter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in June after his death which happened in his own truck in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, in July 2014.

    Conrad Roy took his own life

    In several text messages, Carter urged Roy to follow through on his talk of taking his own life. She wrote this to him the day he killed himself ‘The time is right and you are ready … just do it babe.’
    Another message read: ‘You can’t think about it. You just have to do it. You said you were gonna do it. Like I don’t get why you aren’t.’

    Michelle and Conrad met on holiday in Florida back in 2012 with their families. After that, they only met in person a few of times. Their relationship then consisted mainly of texting.

  • Man Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Boy

    An American transgender man has given birth to a healthy baby boy.

    Trystan Reese, from Portland, Oregon, was born female but started taking hormones almost a decade ago but stopped when he got pregnant and has now given birth to a son, Leo.

    Reese has previously suffered a miscarriage the last time he got pregnant and thought he had missed his chance to have children of his own.

    Leo is the first biological child for Trystan Reese and his husband, Biff Chaplow, and joins the happy family with two adopted children.

    “I would say it’s unique. I understand that people are not used to two men having a biological child,” Mr Reese told Fox News.

    The couple shared this beautiful picture on Facebook.

    “The moment he was born was just like a pure moment of bliss, like the happiest moment of my life. To see the very beginning of Leo, of his life, was just like amazing,” Mr Chaplow added.

    The happy family said their friends and family have supported them throughout but they have unfortunately received some backlash from people online.

  • Teen Mother Burnt Her Baby With Lighter!

    A teenage mother has been in court accused of burning her 11-month-olds sons wrists with a lighter!

    The 19-year-old women, who can not be named for legal reasons, has a history of self harm and has had the child removed from her care.

    The mother, was convicted of cruelty to a child aged under 16 following the trial and issued a 12-month sentence of youth custody suspended for 18 months with a rehabilitation requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work.

    Judge Niclas Parry, told the defendant:
    “This was a shocking case.  For no apparent reason you applied an extremely hot, circular object to the inside of both of your little boy’s wrists.  He was 11 months old, utterly helpless and utterly dependent upon you.”

    The defendant, from Cardiff, denied these accusations and claimed someone else must have sneaked in to the child’s room and caused the injuries – something a judge branded implausible.

    Judge Parry, however did not believe her innocence stating:

    “It is clear from the evidence that the pain would have been nothing short of excruciating,” he said, adding it was “frankly impossible that they had been caused by anyone other than you. “He would have been screaming,” Judge Parry said.  “You should have pleaded guilty. You had a trial and to this day you continue to deny your responsibility.”

    Thank goodness the court heard the little boy has made a full recovery from his injuries.

  • LONDON ATTACK: LATEST UPDATE 

    London Bridge terror incident: The latest update is a van ploughs into up to 20 pedestrians including a police officer ‘with more stabbed’ as shots fired and wounded treated in street.

    LONDON Bridge has nowbeen evacuated after reports of a van mowing down pedestrians and victims being stabbed and shots being fired.

    Armed police are at the scene while people have been seen running from the central London landmark near Borough Market after reports that an officer has been “seriously injured”.

    Eye witnesses confirm that several bodies are “strewn on the ground” and people are receiving CPR after being stabbed with “12 inch long knives” while a bomb squad has arrived on the scene of the attack.

    There have been reports of two to three men armed with knives stabbing people at random in London.

    The white van which reportedly crashed into pedestrians and the police officer was said to be travelling at around 50mph.

    Casualties were seen being rushed away from Tito’s restaurant on London Bridge Street with blood on the steps of the eatery.

  • London Bridge chaos as ‘several people mown down’ by car sparking station evacuation and armed police

    LONDON Bridge station has just been evacuated after reports of a car mowing down several  pedestrians, victims being stabbed and shots being fired.

    Armed police are at the scene while people have been seen fleeing the central London landmark near Borough Market.

    Eye witnesses said that several people were lying on the ground and were receiving CPR after being stabbed.

    There is have also been reports of gun shots being fired.

    One terrified woman said she was at a restaurant and police swarmed on the area.

    She said police were shooting. “We had to run,” “There was loads of shooting.”
