  • My Nana’s Last Goal

When my Nana was put on hospice, the nurse asked her what her goals were. She replied that she wanted to be at my wedding. They reluctantly told her they didn’t want her flying anymore (she was nearly 103 years old) and her heart was failing. I knew in my heart she was trying to hang on to get there somehow. I decided to fly to her with my wedding dress, it was unaltered and didn’t fit yet but none of that mattered. I may have lied to my entire family about where I was that weekend, and I didn’t tell my friends so I could surprise everyone with these photos. Words cannot explain how much these moments mean to me and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. Her smile and her laugh are forever etched in my mind and the love between us will live in my heart. This was one of the greatest days of my life. When I said goodbye to her that night, I think we both knew it would be the last time we would see each other. She grabbed my cheeks with her hands, looked me straight in the eye and said “I love you very much” and 27 days later she passed away. I am so blessed to have this be my last memory with her. She was beyond an amazing woman! I love you Nana, always and forever!

  • To Be A Carer

A poem written by one of Brightspark Care Ltd support workers , Cat Maund 😃

To be a carer – by Me 🦄

    The duties of a carer
Are not all black and white
A lot goes on behind the scenes
Out of mind and out of sight

We don’t just do the personal care
Not just feeding, dressing and hygiene
There’s more to life as a care worker
Then you might have ever seen

We’re there to provide extra support
    When someone is unwell,
When they’re just not feeling strong enough
    To help, encase they fell

    To listen to the stories
Of times that have gone by
And hold a hand in times of need
And when they wish to cry

    To show your understanding
    When times are getting rough
When someone feels like giving up
    And has really had enough

    To support and to encourage
In hope to enhance a persons life
To offer an extra helping hand
To a husband or a wife

    We must be understanding
    And protect each persons rights
    To support their independence
    With every day and night

    We aim to uphold dignity
    And treat people with respect
    We taylor to individuals needs
And ensure a plan is set

To care may come with sadness
    And sometimes the darkest days
The worst of these has got to be
    When someone’s passed away

    Yet we shall continue
    To encourage and support
    To ensure the highest standards
And not let them fall short

To care is not a hardship
    But rather more a gift
And if you ever need a pick me up
We are here to give the lift 💕💕💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰

  • A Conversation Between A Child And Their Grandad In 2095

A conversation between a child and their Grandad in 2095…

Child – How old are you Grandad?
    Grandad – I’m 81 Kid.
Child – So does that mean you were alive during the Coronavirus?
Grandad – Yes kid I was.
Child – Wow. That must have been horrible Grandad. We were learning about that at school this week.

They told us about how all the schools had closed. And mum’s and dads couldn’t go to work so didn’t have as much money to do nice things. They said that u weren’t allowed to go and visit your friends and family and couldn’t go out anywhere. They told us that the shops ran out of lots of things so you didn’t have much bread, and flour, and toilet roll ‘child giggles’. They said that summer holidays were cancelled. And they told us about all those thousands of people that got very poorly and who died. They explained about the NHS and how hard all the doctors and nurses and all NHS workers worked, and that lots of them died too.

That must have been so horrible Grandad.

Grandad – Well kid, that is all correct. And I know that because I read about it when I was older. But to tell you the truth I remember it differently…

I remember playing in the garden for hours with mum and dad and having picnics outside and lots of bbqs. I remember making things with my Dad and baking with my Mum. I remember making dens with my little brother and teaching him how to do hand stands and back flips. I remember having quality time with my family. I remember mum’s favorite words becoming ‘Hey, I’ve got an idea…’ Rather than ‘Maybe later or tomorrow im a bit busy’. I remember making our own bread and pastry. I remember having film night 3 or 4 times a week instead of just one.

It was a horrible time for lots of people you are right. But I remember it differently.

Remember how our children will remember these times. Be in control of the memories they are creating right now, so that through all the awful headlines and emotional stories for so many that they will come to read in future years, they can remember the happy times.

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • How Do You Think You’re Doing As A Mum?

God: How do you think you’re doing as a mom?

Mom: Well I don’t play with my kids as much as I should. I get grumpy. Yesterday they ate pizza for the second time this week. I don’t really like cooking together or crafts, but I wish I did.

Sometimes I do it anyway, but mostly I’m just trying not to get annoyed. My house is like one giant clothes and crumb explosion. I really should have them keep their rooms cleaner, but sometimes I just don’t want to pick another battle. I’m not really sure when the last time my second son bathed was. That’s probably not good.

Yesterday I snapped over a cliff bar wrapper that no one was cleaning up. Sometimes I worry because they bicker a lot, like is that my fault? Did I do something wrong? At night I’m so tired I fall into the couch and watch shows and eat snacks until I can’t keep my eyes open anymore. When I lay in bed I find myself wondering if they all are brushing their teeth well enough.

I’m too hard on the oldest and too lenient with the youngest. I love our dinnertime discussions and I just can’t get enough of their laughs and the way they tell stories. Sometimes when they’re talking though I’m not really listening I’m worrying about something completely different, I think they can tell. I wonder all the time if I’m doing a good job and if they know how much I love them.

    God: Do you love them?

Mom: With my whole entire heart.

    God: You sound wonderful.

  • You Do Not Want That Puppy Its The Runt

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

“Mister,” he said, “I want to buy one of your puppies.”

“Well,” said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, “These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.”

The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.

“I’ve got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?”

“Sure,” said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. “Here, Dolly!” he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up…

“I want that one,” the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

The farmer knelt down at the boy’s side and said, “Son, you don’t want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.”

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, “You see sir, I don’t run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.”

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.

“How much?” asked the little boy…

“No charge,” answered the farmer, “There’s no charge for love.”

  • This Advert Is The Most Inspirational Thing I Have Ever Watched

Most parents will never know what it’s like to care for a sick child — not the ones with snotty noses and low-grade fevers, but the ones with real, chronic, sometimes-fatal illnesses — and that’s a good thing. It’s a pain no mum should have to bear, but many do, and a soul-crushing ad is shedding light on just a glimpse of what that struggle is like.

In honor of Mother’s Day last year, SickKids Foundation, a children’s health nonprofit, released the 90-second commercial. In it, there’s a mom praying in a church pew, a mom screaming and bashing her fists against the steering wheel in a vacant parking lot, and a mom breaking down in tears as a nurse explains how she’ll have to care for her sick infant. Those watching can almost feel the anguish. Almost.

Then, each of these moms literally wipes away the tears, picks herself up, and gets to work. It’s remarkable.

The organization’s message? “For every kid in hospital who’s missing childhood, there’s a mom staying strong.”

Unlike most ads you watch, take action after you see this one. As SickKids implores, stand with these mums to “help their kids get back to just being kids.” And may you never have to know this kind of strength.

  • One Night A Snake-Inspirational Post

One night a snake… while it was looking for food, entered a carpenter’s workshop.

The carpenter, who was a rather untidy man, had left several of his tools lying on the floor.

One of them was a saw. As the snake went round and round the shop, he climbed over the saw, which gave him a little cut.

At once, thinking that the saw was attacking him, he turned around and bit it so hard that his mouth started to bleed. This made him very angry. He attacked again and again until the saw was covered with his blood.

Dying from his own wounds, the snake decided to wrap itself around the saw and began to squeeze with all its strength but it ended up killing itself.

Sometimes we react with anger not realizing we are only hurting ourselves. In life, sometimes it’s better to ignore situations, ignore people and their behavior. People say and do things but it’s your decision to react in a positive way.

Soft answers remove anger, Rough words raise rage. Proverbs 15:1

  • Stop Worrying How Others See You-Inspirational Post

When you aren’t worrying so much about how others see you, you can show them who you really are.

Stop worrying how others see you and start looking at how you see yourself, if you see someone who is ugly that’s what others will see, learn to love yourself, there is no one like YOU and that is amazing, you are unique.

Not everyone will love you, it’s true—but those who do will be loving the real you, not the one you made up for public consumption.

This you is actually much more interesting, anyway! We lose so much when we trade in authenticity for social approval. We lose our spontaneity and zest for life. We lose confidence in our own judgment and taste. We lose ourselves, sometimes forever. And the world loses the contribution that only we can make.

You do not need to look like the women inside of fashion magazines, you don’t need to try to hide your face under a ton of make up, You my dear are beautiful just the way you are.

Be confident, be proud and most of all be brave enough to be the real you, when you larn to be yourself you will not care what others think of you, smile and wave at the bitches that hate, they are just jealous of how happy you are and that you do not care what others think.
