  • Dear Daddy A Message From Your Newborn

Dear Daddy… a message from your newborn

For now, I need your deep rolling voice and strong gentle hands. I need your warm skin and scratchy kisses, your loving smile and clumsy laughter. I need you to look after tired, exhausted mummy, and to be patient with us through the long days and longer nights. To make cups of tea, and do the laundry. To comfort me in the long dark nights, rocking me gently, as you walk me up and down the dark hall.

It feels like forever but it passes quickly, you’ll just have to trust me on that.

For soon, you’ll be back at work. Earning money to help provide food and shelter for mummy and I. You’ll go to work at 8am, sometimes after already being awake with me for hours. You’ll come home, exhausted and grumpy, to a partner who all too often has nothing left to give. This is when I will need you most.

I will need you to be the rock in the storm. To cuddle me in your gentle, strong arms, while you face down mummy’s desperate cries with tender words and firm hugs. You won’t always get it right, and sometimes you’ll get it very wrong, but Daddy, I promise I’ll love you all the same. In those moments, I’ll need you more than anything, to forgive yourself and mummy quickly. To warm the room with your laughter, and show me that sometimes, it’s ok to be wrong.

One day, I’ll be big. A princess, a ballerina, an explorer, a dragon or a powerful witch. I’ll ask you to play the same game, over and over, and I need you to play with me Daddy. To put your phone away, leave your stresses behind, and just play. And through this, Daddy, you’re teaching me of my self-worth.

As I grow older, you might feel like you understand me less, but I’ll need you more. I’ll need you to take my hand and guide me up those first few branches, then let go and watch me climb. I’ll need your calm confident voice that says “you can do it”. I’ll be afraid at first, but I’ll push myself forward, because I’ll know, as I’ve seen all my life, that if I fall, you’ll be there to catch me.

Then, in a long, long while, I will decide to go out on my own. You might think it’s too soon, and you’ll probably be right, but at that time I’ll need you to trust in the girl you raised so well, and believe in me the way I believe in myself… thanks to you.

But for right now, Daddy – your deep rolling voice and strong gentle hands are enough.

  • You Are Strong, You Can Walk Away From An Abuser

An abusive person uses threats and violence to keep a victim compliant.

    To manipulate,.destruct and destroy.

In a place where they have control

Fearful to make eye contact for fear of retribution.

They don’t want you to gaze at them

    If challenged.a coward will run

They will see the pain in your eyes

    And perhaps

    They see themselves reflected back.

    Evil, cruel, callous and unkind.

Then they lose the grip and over on you

So please I’m absolutely begging you

Left your head and see the world as a beautiful place

See the abuser for what they are

    Cold staring ugly weasel eyes.

No light will ever reach their soul.

Only the fires that burn in hell

Go back to the mirror please look again

    Detach the wounded inner self

Love forgive and console your self

    Gaze upon a survivors reflection

Look deep in to their eyes

    Deep down inside

To go down to the absolute depths of despair.

There’s only one way to go now

Up up up up and up again

Gaining control of your own destiny

Please take heart things get better

Let others love you and find out how special that you are.

    Let down the guard.

Learn to trust your own instincts

    Draw upon your strengths

There is no room at the inn to fail

As my dear please believe in yourself

    Your worth a million bullies

    Strong dignified and pure inside.

You didn’t want or ask for it

Go into your soul and bring out the light

    With trust and compassion

    With your dignity and poise

These are your gifts no one can destroy

Please don’t believe ugly names toy we’re often called.

    Reverse your thinking strategy

These names they shout is who

    They really are not you.

Be true to you and only you

Be brave and stand your ground

    Be your own saviour

Remove the brick wall of isolation

Let the hurt child in you move on

Only then you can believe and dream

Get help and close the wounded part

There will always be scars and confusion

But don’t let these people dictate

Your life now free of aBuse

    Chin up and look up

Be proud of all your little victories

    And rejoice breaking that cycle

    Of pain, confusion, and suffering.

Be strong as you have survived

And you are slowly starting to heal

Don’t waste time on drink and drugs

It doesn’t help and you will

Just get arrested and locked up.

    The pain and heartache will

Still be there in the cold daylight.

  • Advice To Men About Their Pregnant Wife

ADVICE TO MEN ABOUT THEIR PREGNANT WIFE…
Men, today I want us to talk about PREGNANCY.

Do you know that certain things you do when your wife is pregnant actually contributes to the state of health of the mother and unborn child?
Listen, it bothers me a lot when I see men showing no concern to their pregnant wife or fail to adjust to some temporary changes.

It’s just 9 months, not like its forever.

Pregnancy is not bought in the market, neither is it a software downloaded from the internet. It’s a seed planted by you. There has to be a carrier of that seed while it grows, and women have been given the responsibility to carry it.
Pregnancy is preparation to welcome a new member into the family. Pregnancy is a journey fun-filled, amazing etc.

Women differ in body changes. Although Pregnancy makes women do certain things in common.

■Once in a while she would nag and moan

■Once in a while she would request for things unimaginable e.g she wants to eat a sponge with marmite.

■Once in a while she will be to tired to make you your meals

■Once in a while she would want to stretch her legs on your laps. Please pardon her… carrying the baby ain’t easy.

Her needs may be unsatisfiable at times.
The first Trimester of the journey can be so annoying. Like I say women differ from each other during pregnancy.

●While most women are busy vomiting.

●Most of them sleep like a log, they nod off anywhere with the slightest chance even in the kitchen.

●While most women feel terribly hot.

●While most women put on weight, some will have swollen ankles as well.

●She will hate you and love you and cry over anything

Please tolerate this, it’s beautiful afterwards.

Her attitude becomes annoying, most times you can’t stand her. But I get annoyed when I see men neglect their pregnant wife. She’s not an abomination, neither is she a curse. I must say, it’s not an easy journey for all.

The last Trimester is when you need to be extra patient, loving, enduring and understanding.
    NOTE…

    1) Always observe your wife’s feet while pregnant, it swells often. Please give her a basin of water to soak her feet once in a while, it’s one of the best treats women enjoy during pregnancy.
    2) Ask her regularly how she feels and how the baby is. She’s the carrier so she feels him/her move.
    3) Tell her how beautiful she looks during pregnancy e.g ” This pregnancy is making you glow”.

Even if she has grown bigger in size cause of the pregnancy, celebrate her.
    4) Don’t be upset if she ever wakes you up by 2am to help massage her feet. You need to feel a little bit of her discomfort and pain. She shouldn’t carry it alone, it’s your baby you need to carry it together. (I don’t mean physically though).
    5) No rule book stopped sex during pregnancy, in short it’s the best sex…. do it. It’s not like the vagina stopped working during pregnancy. o boy continue the work that brings the pregnancy.
    6) Don’t be ashamed to take her out. Take her out once in a while to those lovie dovie places you used to go together. They love it…
Most times I wonder what crosses the heart of men when they see their pregnant wives. Carrying a child for 9 months isn’t easy.

I urge all men to get closer to their spouses during pregnancy because that’s one of the times she needs you most.

A big shout out to all men who fully stand by their wife during pregnancy. God bless you all.
