  • So Tonight I Banned Fortnite

    So tonight I banned Fortnite.

    From tonight, Fortnite is not allowed in my house.

    No more playing it, no more talking about it, no more watching some guy shout about it on Youtube.

    Fortnite brings nothing but bad attitude, anger and arguments into my house, and enough is enough.

    It’s not my boy’s fault that he thinks Fortnite is ‘sick’. It’s not his fault Fortnite makes him behave a certain way. And it’s not his fault that I’ve finally banned it.

    It’s not his fault that he is now going to be left out of conversations in school. And it’s not his fault that peer pressure is going to make him mad at me.

    It’s not his fault.

    Fortnite brings about an attitude and behaviour that is not okay. It encourages violence and arrogance and self entitlement.

    No more.

    It’s not his fault, but it’s MY choice.

    I’m done. Fortnite has officially LEFT THE BUILDING.

    Fortnite dances should be banned for intimidation

    Fortnite is an online strategy game, you compete against other people to become the last man standing.

    In the game you can save up coins or purchase additional items, clothing or dances.

    The dances include the dab, bouncing from one leg to the next whilst making the Loser symbol with your hand called take the L, the floss, breakin’, electro shuffle, wiggle and disco fever.

    Parents are calling for Fortnite dances especially the floss and Take the L to be banned as children are using them to intimidate and bully other children.

    Many youth sports teams are doing the dances after winning a game and mocking their losing opponents.

    One mum has even set up a petition and is sharing it on social media platforms, Jemma Dunmore from Osmondthorpe in Leeds is asking worried parents to sign and share her petition to get Fortnite to remove the dances, she states that the dances do nothing to improve the game.

    She added that they were a pointless addition to the game and are only there to mock and intimidate other users and young children now deem it acceptable to rein-act the moves in the playground or on the sports field.

  • Fortnite Save The World Game Nearly Killed My Son

    Fortnite nearly killed my son, George is 13 and has always been a big gamer, so when Fortnite came out he was elated, a fab game he could play with his small group of friends. George has always been a quiet boy, shy and struggled to fit in at School, but when he was gaming he came alive and beamed with joy.

    George asked for an extra game called Fortnite save the world, I happily paid the £25 fee and George was very grateful. George spent a month building guns and gathering resources, soon his friends went off on a week long school trip which George didn’t want to attend.

    After a few days of his friends being away he realised how lonely he felt whilst gaming so he started playing with strangers. I did keep an eye on it and ensured he was only playing with kids of a similar age. In the game you can swap resources, George made the error of trusting someone who asked to see all his weapons etc and George dropped them, the other person stole all his online stuff.

    To many this may not seem like a big deal, but when your child has worked so hard for something and it’s his safe place where he can feel alive and be himself, it really is a huge issue.

    I could hear George begging for his stuff back and this other child laughing his head off over the mic, mocking my sons distressed sobs. George lost all his stuff, but he lost more than that he lost his happy place. I tried my best to comfort my sensitive son but he was adamant he wanted me to leave his room, he became angry, I thought it best to let him calm down and check on him later.

    I left it an hour and knocked on his bedroom door, no reply, I knocked again, still no answer, I screamed his name, again silence, the door was locked, I hammered and hammered on it before kicking it open.

    There lay my baby boy with a plastic bag over his head, he had cellotaped the opening around his neck, I ripped at the bag, freeing my sons air ways, I rushed to call the emergency services, placing them on load speaker whilst I gave my baby cpr.

    My son wasn’t gone he was still there he was barely breathing but it was life, my boy was alive.

    10 minutes later the paramedics arrived and he was rushed to hospital. It’s been 2 months since George attempted to take his life, he sees a therapist and all his gaming is limited to off-line games unless I am sat with him.

    Please remind your children that it is just a game, not to put to much of their time or energy in to it, gaming should be fun, when it starts taking over STOP, step back, please don’t let your child become obsessed with gaming.

  • Dads Warning After Fortnite Money Scam

    We have Just been victim to an Xbox fortnight scam I have decided to share this in the hope no one will be as stupid as us.

     Vinnie who is 11 asked his dad on Monday if he could give out his dads mobile number on a web page to get a free game in fortnight they then claim they will send you a code to the phone and then you input the code then send it onto the Xbox to get the free game in Fortnite.

    No harm would come from just a simple thing like a phone number surely, it has got to be safe right? Wrong! We were so wrong.

    What you are doing is authorising mobile billing from Microsoft and somehow this person starts billing your phone even though you are not buying anything and have not handed over any bank details.

    £140 has gone over three days just added to mobile phone account so doesn’t show from your bank, if like me you check your internet banking it will not show straight away I didn’t even know that u could bill to mobile ?

    We have spoken to Microsoft and they have put a block on to stop any more money being charged to my account, however it may take some time to be refunded (if they decide to) the £140 that has already been charged.

    Do not trust these web sites which claim to give you free Fortnite games or any free games with just your phone number it is a scam.

  • No Sex For Husband Until Fortnite Goes

    For years I have known I would lose my husband to the football season, when the “game” is on I cannot speak to my other half as all I get is grunts and waving of his arms in response, he cannot look away from the screen and I lose my front room, not that I mind it gives me a chance to visit friends and watch what I want in my bedroom.

    Now football I understand he has always been a huge fan and I knew this when I first met him and I have accepted this part of my life, after all its only 90 odd minutes.

    But a new trend has stolen my husband, a stupid game called Fortnite, my husband rages, screams, cries and acts like a 2-year-old who has dropped his ice cream when he doesn’t win, and celebrates his “victory royale” by recording his achievement and posting it on his Facebook.

    Before Fortnite came along his Facebook profile was full of pictures of us together or funny memes but now he’s become a bloody teenager and its super embarrassing.

    I as a grown woman will not raise my husband that was his mother’s job years ago, I cannot send him to his room when he has a temper tantrum but I can withhold all Sex until he grows up and gets off this stupid game!

    Fortnite is for kids, not grown men, with jobs and responsibilities at this rate we will never be able to make a baby as he’s too busy acting like a child himself.

    I have not “put out” for two weeks so far but I don’t think he has even noticed, this stupid game appears to give him all the things he needs, he gets rid of some testosterone and gets his fill when he wins a game, sad, sad, sad I hope he grows out of it soon before I accidentally smash-up the Playstation.
