  • This Is The Exact Moment I Realized

    ” of all the photos I posted from my daughter Malia,

    This one makes me more emotional because it shows the second exact I realized she had down syndrome.

    The moment he was born and cleaned it, I asked: ” has down syndrome?”

    Nobody heard me, so I asked: ”

    It’s all right?”.

    I felt guilty that these were my first words, even without someone hearing them.

    When they put it on my chest the first time, I took this picture and entered a kind of limbo.

    I wasn’t ashamed in any way… but the photo was somehow, I don’t know what word to use… revealing? A Confirmation?

    Every time I wanted to post a picture of her, I was back to see this first picture.

    I thought the world out there wasn’t going to answer as I wanted. But I love this photo more than anyone can imagine.

    The reason I’m finally posting it now is that if there’s someone out there who listens to this diagnosis, before or after birth, I want you to know that everything is fine. Maybe not at first, maybe not for a while, but everything will be fine.

  • Bird Box Movie You Are Missing The Point

    ***WARNING (Bird Box Spoilers)

    Y’all are totally missing the underlying message of this film!

    The monster makes you commit suicide and hear voices. Notice that people labeled as “mentally ill” are immune to the monster and they want everyone else to see it. THEY WANT EVERYONE ELSE TO SEE WHAT ITS LIKE TO WANT TO TAKE YOUR OWN LIFE AND HEAR VOICES IN YOUR HEAD. The monster is suicide and mental illness personified. Throughout the film you slowly watch people unravel and fall victim to their own fear, paranoia and violent behavior, all symptoms of mental illness. This forces the audience to ask “Now who’s crazy?”. Without any in-depth information about the “monster”, all the characters are figuratively and literally left blind.

    Why can no one see the “monster”? Because suicide and mental illness don’t have a face. It can affect anybody. In the scene in the kitchen with Sandra Bullock (Malorie), and Trevante Rhodes (Tom), Malorie says something to the effect of “My sister would have never killed herself. She wasn’t like that”. Today we have those instances of people who were clearly exemplifying suicidal tendencies before they took their own lives, but the stigma surrounding suicide and mental illness often causes people to hide those feelings rather than talk about them; we’ve all seen those new stories and interviews were people who were close to a suicide victim say things like “She never seemed like she’d do something like that” or “everything seemed fine”.

    The scene where Danielle’s McDonald’s character (Olympia), asks Malorie to take care of her child if anything happens to her is also very telling. Olympia speaks about feeling like a burden because she was spoiled her whole life and “all that love made [her] soft” while Malorie proclaims she was “raised by wolves”. Both women are PREGNANT, and despite their different backgrounds are at the mercy of the same invisible force. I think this is a commentary on gestational and postpartum depression.

    Almost all of the characters are dealing with grief to some degree, especially Malorie and John Malcovich’s character (Douglas). They both watch their loved ones commit suicide. This shows that suicide doesn’t just affect the victim, but also the people around them.

    In the end we see that the only way for Malorie and her kids to survive is by USING THEIR VOICES.

    Now go rewatch the movie and stop looking at things at face value. That kind of observation is what the film is trying to get you to stop doing. It’s so much deeper than that.

  • Young Girl Beaten By Grown Woman

    Tiffany Leanne Schofield’s daughter was vicioucly beaten by a grown woman.

    Her mum took to Facebook and said

    “So after recent events and conversations with multiple people about the scum named Jayde Binch I just wanted to give people an update on the effects my daughter has suffered since she got beaten by a grown ass women.

    Just a quick recap of the events, my daughter was 11 years old when it happened she was ‘best friend’s’ with Jaydes daughter and because they fell out (as girls do) Jayde took it upon herself to go find my daughter and beat her punched her several times in the face till my daughter fell to the floor which she then proceeded to kick her while she was down, then grabbed her by her hair and tried to shove her into the car.

     My daughter with all her courage and strength managed to break free from Jaydes grip. This woman is a trained boxer so as u can imagine the punches would have came down like bricks to my daughter.

    She was taken to hospital and police was called out, it got taken to court I had to sit and watch on cctv what that evil women did to my daughter without saying a word. The judge who also watched the cctv footage gave her a fine, a fucking fine how is that justice?.

    A year and half later my daughter is still seeing a councillor, still has flashbacks of that awful night, she now has a barrier up which she will not lower, she don’t understand how someone could do what this evil person did and yet get away with it”.

  • Postmen Should Be Fined For Risking Animals Lives

    Postmen should be fined for risking animals lives, I for one am totally fed up of lazy inconsiderate postmen who litter our homes and gardens.

    Three times this month my regular pot man has dropped elastic bands on my driveway or along the pavement, I have spoken to him twice already and asked him to stop littering the neighbourhood and he simply shrugged his shoulders and said there wasn’t anything he could do about it.

    Well today the stupid man dropped them again after delivering the mail, my cat Pebbles found it before I did and was playing with it, Pebbles got the elastic band stuck in her tiny throat and nearly choked to death, luckily I was able to dislodge it and rushed my poor little feline to the vets where she was given the all clear, thank god.

    I phoned the post office headquarters and they weren’t even bothered, they couldn’t even apologise, all they could say was unfortunately sometimes elastic bands are dropped or fall out of the post-bag and the post workers aren’t even aware.

    These elastic bands are a health hazard, they can wash into drains and kill sea creatures and choke or strangle domestic, farm or stray animals, something has to be done about it before it’s to late.

    I am sickened with the post office, my cat coud have died because of irresponsible littering, I called 101 to report littering and the risk to animals and again they said they could’t do anything either, how can they get away with this, if i were to drop rubbish in the street i would be fined. Postmen should be fined also and trained to respect the neighbourhoods they deliver to.
