  • I Was Going To Be Induced And He Was Angry

The morning I was going to be induced, he was angry with me. He was angry that I preferred his mother not to be in the delivery room. He raised his voice at me, and made me cry. I stood my ground, did my make up, and we went to the hospital.

That morning shouldn’t have been that way. The day I gave birth, he never once told me I did a good job, he never once told me I was beautiful after watching me give birth to his first born child. The day after I gave birth, my body was in a lot of pain, but he never once asked me how I felt.

He was angry with me again, for something so small I couldn’t remember if I tried. He will claim I’m a liar. He tries to get into my head and make me believe everything went wrong because of me. Sometimes I get close to believing it, but then I just remember the truth of it all.

This has been a really bad experience with some one but I wouldn’t take it back. I love my daughter and she is worth it all. I always get so happy to see other women with good men by their side. I watched my sister go through the pain and loneliness of not having a good guy by her side during such a huge time in a woman’s life. It probably made her think she wasn’t good enough, but she is. He is not good enough. Every woman deserves to be cherished and their value should be seen. You should never stay if this is what you are being treated like. It’s not supposed to be like this.

Editing to add: I have left the relationship

  • My Mum Thanked Me Last Night

My mum thanked me last night.

She babysat, and SHE thanked ME?!

She never taught my brother or I to self soothe.

    We shared her bed.

We took our naps in her arms.

She breastfed till we naturally weaned…

And one day, all of that came to an end.

One day, we turned into cranky and unruly teenagers who wanted to be with our friends over her.

And then even later on, one day we both got married and had families of our own.

Last night, my husband and I went out.

Not far. And we weren’t late.

But when we got back, I went upstairs and found my children asleep in my mothers arms in the same way that they fall asleep in my arms every night.

And in the same way that my brother and I had fallen asleep in her arms every night.

They all looked so calm and peaceful.

I asked if she was ok, and she smiled through faint tears.

She thanked me for giving her these moments back.

These moments that she never imagined possible to experience again….

she thought that these days had well and truly passed.

She told me that no matter how hard she tries, she can’t remember the last time she held me.

She can’t remember my last feed.

She can’t even remember the last time that I climbed into her bed in the middle of the night asking her for a cuddle….

But when she held her grandchildren to sleep, it gave her an emotional reminder of what it was like. How beautiful it felt. How special it was.

Because these moments won’t last forever.

Even though sometimes they feel like they will.

She told me how lucky I am that I get to do this every single night. And how fortunate I am that I get to do so for a little while longer.

    I smiled. She is right.

Even on those long nights when I don’t believe that to be the case; I am most definitely lucky.

  • Please DO NOT Buy My Kids Toys For Christmas

Please DO NOT buy my kids TOYS for Christmas..

    – Kid wants toy for Christmas and talks about it all the time.

    – Kid opens toy for Christmas and immediately rips it open and starts to put it together & play.

    – 2 days later kid is asking for new app on their iPad, and you suggest they go play with that awesome toy they wanted so bad that cost santa over £100… They say they don’t feel like it and are bored with it.

    – One week later, toy is shoved in the back of their closet, never to be seen again… UNTIL you do a pre-Christmas clean out the following year when said toy is then donated because the child expresses that she no longer likes it.

    .

AH, it kills me a little every time!!!

    .

This year, we are making a Christmas list filled with EXPERIENCES, not toys.

    .

Want to know what Aunt Emily can get her? A movie date with her on a weekend, a trip to the zoo, a painting class… something where they can spend time together!

    .

Live far away? You could give my son a swimming lesson vouchers, a gift certificate to a pottery painting class, cooking lessons, go carting, a favorite book of yours with a personalized note of why you love it & him THE EXPERIENCES and MEMORIES he simply will NOT forget!

    .

No big pile of presents will be under my tree, if I look back on my childhood I don’t remember any of the presents I received, I remember the people, and my little girl and boy will remember the days out, the special times with their family.

Not only will my children have the best time, I will not have the stress ans anger of searching shops to get the toys they want and then the heart ache of seeing money literally bein poured down the drain.

This christmas will be all about family and my kids having the best time.

  • Midwives Will Be Talking About This For Months

“Your external world is a direct reflection of your inner world. You create with your thoughts, beliefs and emotions!
Knowing this and being conscious of this, is so POWERFUL.
What thoughts are you thinking? If you think that thought often enough it will become a belief which will make itself so comfortable deep in your subconscious, you won’t even know it’s there!

That belief will get you to make choices and decisions to prove that, that belief is true! Then when you experience something which proves the belief is true you will say things like ‘See it IS true!’
Throughout my pregnancy with Ashani, many people told me horror stories of labour! ‘It’s SOOOOO painful’ ‘Your downstairs will never be the same again!’ ‘It’s pain like you have never felt before!’
Every time someone told me what ‘they’ believed or experienced, I silently said to myself ‘I choose NOT to believe that will happen to me, I will have the most amazing labour that midwives will be talking about it for months and months and it will be the best experience I have EVER had!’ Every time someone shared their horrific experiences and their perception of it, I had the opportunity to reinforce my positive belief.
I had 9 months of reinforcing my belief and imagining my amazing labour experience. My powerful self-belief drove me to my powerful choices and decisions which led to 13 hours of the most peaceful beautiful labor! It was even better than I had imagined or believed it would be.
Did the midwives talk about this incredible labour for months after? Absolutely! My sister Nina Vyas was delivering her baby 5 months later and the midwife was talking about my labour!

What thoughts are you thinking? Good ones or bad ones? If you’re not sure, take a peek at your current reality and check in with yourself. Do you feel good? or do you feel bad?
