  • Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Drink Energy Drinks

    Did you know…

For every 20 ounce Monster you drink, it takes 6.3 gallons of water to flush it out of your kidneys. 😳 It would take the average person more than 14 days to consume that much water.

For every 20 ounce Sugar Free Red Bull you drink, it takes nearly a gallon of water to flush it out of your kidneys. 😳 The average person drinks less than a gallon of plain drinking water in 2 days.

ā˜ ļø Energy drinks hyperstimulate your adrenal glands to increase hydrocortisone and adrenalin production, and then the GABA amino acid comes in to suppress the hyperstimulation so you don’t feel jittery. All this extra work for your adrenal glands can lead to adrenal fatigue or crash. The extra hydrocortisone your adrenal glands are producing makes you resistant to insulin.

ā˜ ļø Throw in all those artificial sweeteners that energy drinks contain, and your pancreas will be working overtime. This can lead to weight gain that shows up specifically in the abdomen. All of this hyperstimulation and production can cause metabolic syndrome, the initial symptoms of which include abdominal obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. As metabolic syndrome progresses, it leads to heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, and nerve damage.

😦Each energy drink contains anywhere between 40 to 240 mg of caffeine in them. While they might increase mental alertness for a few hours, energy drinks have also been known to cause irregular heartbeat, anxiety, jitters, increased blood pressure and thickening of the blood.

😱Additionally, a 2015 study published in the Journal of Medical Cases found that consuming energy drinks can induce cardiac arrest.šŸ’”

Have you ever poured a Red Bull or Monster into milk… it curdles in virtually no time 🤢 Seriously there are some nasty videos out there about this 🤮 Just think of what it does to your insides!

Mixing energy drinks and alcohol has been deadly.

Drink smart. Teach your kids about these facts. Fortunately we all have better options!

  • Never Drink Out Of A Fizzy Drink Can/Tin

On Sunday the 1st of April 2018Ā , we had a family picnic, some brought with thema aĀ few drinks in cans, like Fanta, coke and monster energy drinks.

However, on Monday, two family members( who joined the picnic) were admitted to hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit space. One died on the following Wednesday.

Autopsy results concluded it hit Leptospirosis. The bacteria, known as LEPTOSPIRA interrogans, is stuck to the tin cans, and were drunk, without the use of glasses, cups or sip straws. Test results showed that the soda tin was infected from mice urine, and that had dried, the mice’ urine containing Leptospirosis.

It is highly recommended to rinse the parts evenly on all soda/beer cans before drinking it. Cans are usually stored in the warehouse and delivered direct to retail stores without cleaning.

A study has shown that the top of all beverage cans are more contaminated than public toilets (full of germs and bacteria.)

So, clean it with water before putting it to your mouth in order to avoid contamination.

Signs and symptoms can range from none to mild such as headaches, muscle pains, and fevers; to severe with bleeding from the lungs or meningitis. If the infection causes the person to turn yellow, have kidney failure and bleeding, it is then known as Weil’s disease. If it also causes bleeding into the lungs then it is known as severe pulmonary hemorrhage syndrome.

Ā It is transmitted by both wild and domestic animals. The most common animals that spread the disease are rodents. It is often transmitted by animal urine or by water or soil containing animal urine coming into contact with breaks in the skin, eyes, mouth, or nose.

Just give those tins a wipe over before placing to your mouth, or pour into a clean glass.

  • My Husband And His Energy Drink Addiction

Brianna and Austin were so excited to meet their new baby boy.Ā

But one morning, Austin’s mum phoned with life changing news.ā€œAustin had an accidentā€ she told the worrier mum to be.

After a long drive to the hospital, Brianna learned that Austin had had a brain hemorrhage.

Ā But the reason behind the sudden horror was just as unexpected.

Austin had been drinking energy drinks ever since he’d started picking up over time and had to commute more regularly.

Brianna learned that Austin had had a brain hemorrhage. But the reason behind the sudden horror was just as unexpected.

It became a regular habit and soon, Austin was drinking them excessively. Doctors say they’re ultimately what caused Austin’s brain hemorrhage.

Brianna said Austin had to have a lot of brain surgery to save his life, everyone was terrified.Ā

Following this were strokes, seizures, swelling, and more things we weren’t prepared for.

“Then theĀ time had come for me to deliver our baby”.

“I’m not going to lie to anyone, it was so hard. I had planned on Austin being a part of this huge moment. Being by my side. Holding my hand. Being there to cut the cord. Being there to welcome our son into the world. It didn’t feel right”.

“But a beautiful miracle happened as I delivered our son. Austin woke up”.

Austin was still too weak to see his son and was in and out of consciousness.

Brianna said ” At a little over 2 months old, our son finally met his dad. A day I wasn’t sure I would ever see. That was the day that my heart gained some of its happiness back.

Some time after that he could finally come home to me. Our life isn’t normal. There are doctors visits and hospital trips — so many that I lose count”.

    “But we are here. Fighting”.
