I’m Sorry That When He Left Me, He Also Made The Decision To Leave You Too
An open letter to my children
My daling children I am sorry, I’m sorry you have faced years of disappointment; and have yet another lifetime to come. I’m sorry I didn’t realise your father wasn’t a good man untill it was too late; I’m sorry the start of your lives were filled with so much hate and anger. I’m sorry you will never remember we were once a family unit; a broken one granted. But still a unit.
I’m sorry you will never remember that mummy tried. I really did; I tried ever so hard. I fought continuously for you all. For us to be happy. But unfortunately your father just could not be a part of that.
I’m sorry that when he left me, he also made the decision to leave you too. I’m sorry that for him to break away, he had to break you too. And I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you from the years of disappointment. The crying at the window wondering why daddy never came.
I’m sorry I made a selfish decision; to cut him out for good when you were only 2 and 3 years old. I’m sorry that even though that decision protects you from pain; that it also hides you away from part of who you are.
I’m sorry you have questions, that I just cannot answer. I’m sorry that the men who will teach you to be well, men. Weren’t the man who gave you life. I’m sorry he missed out on all of the most important and invaluable moments of your sweet little lives. And I’m sorry he missed out on the ‘small and insignificant’ factors. Such as your favourite food.
I’m sorry he will never be a part of the beautiful and respectful gentlemen you will grow into. And that he will never play a role in helping you succeed and strive in life.
I do however promise you;
I will always do my best
I will always stand by your side
I will never walk away
No matter how hard it gets I will always support you.
I will guide you in life as best I can, but always with your best interests at heart.
I will probably make mistakes along the way, hell I’ll probably mess up on a daily basis. But please always know; I’ve loved you unconditionally, and I will be here for you no matter the condition. You are my motivation, my reason to carry on. And I will forever be grateful to you both for saving my life.
And I’m not sorry, for protecting you from being destroyed. The way he destroyed me. I am not sorry for protecting you from a monster.
Even if that monster gave you life. — Credit Kayleigh Jade.

He Cheated In The Worst Way
Last year me and my husband were watching Netflix when he got a call. He took it in the other room, but I could hear him and could tell he was upset. After a few minutes he came out, said he’d be right back, and left without answering my many questions.
About an hour later he came back with my best friend. This was odd, but I politely greeted her, thinking to myself why has he gone and collected my best friend.
My husband told me to sit and they sat next to each other on the couch across from me, was one of the ill I thought to myself, what is going on?
She was really uncomfortable and wasn’t making eye contact with me, and my husband couldn’t look at me. He looked passed me and told me what was wrong. He told me that he had cheated on me, and that she was pregnant, and that she had been kicked out of her house so he offered her our spare bedroom.
She was four months pregnant and we had barely been married a year and he had already fucked another girl, if he were going to cheat he could at least of picked someone else.
I felt sick, embarrassed, angry and betrayed, and the fact that he let her live here without asking me was too much.
I couldn’t even bring myself to yell at him. Or throw something at him. I just cried. I cried for about ten minutes, and the my asshole husband never comforted me, or even looked at me. All he could say was “well…. sorry”. I couldn’t bring myself to kick her out so I’ve let her stay, i was basically taking care of the girl who ruined my marriage, who I used to confided in.
In one night I lost my husband and my best friend, I was used, it is clear to me now that neither of them loved me, and you know what I no longer care, I am not angry, I am not sad I am free, my best friend actually did me a favour I didn’t have to spend a life time with a man who did not love me.
They aren’t together anymore, my husband does see the child but only once a fortnight as he lives in a dirty house share, I however have found a rewarding career ad awaiting a huge party when my divorce is finalised.

Always Give Your Wife The Best Of You
Before I got married one of my relatives who had been divorced gave me advice, he said “Always give your wife the best of you, the mistake I made was assuming that I could just give what’s left and that would be enough.”
What he meant was that he would come home late after a long day of work and only give his wife a few minutes of time before going to eat and sleep, on the weekend he would only hang out with his wife for a couple of hours before disappearing for most of the day with his friends.
Eventually it was the constant distance not just physically but emotionally and spiritually that erased the feelings they had for each other, the love that existed had gone.
There is a reason they say that family is the most important thing, because when you put your family first everything else seems to fall in place so beautifully, things feel right, you feel that no matter how bad things get in every other part of your life you still have a home filled with love, you still have open arms ready to comfort you when you get home, and you still have the people who love you most ready to support you and make you strong again.
There is a beautiful quote that I read which said a great marriage doesn’t happen because of the love you had in the beginning, but how will you continue building that love till the end, and that is what we try to do, every day, to build that love till the day we are together forever in heaven.
