  • Bananas Some Very Interesting Facts and Uses

    ” BANANAS…”

    A very interesting FACTS

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!…

This is interesting. After reading this, you’ll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.

But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

    DEPRESSION:

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

    PMS:

Forget the pills – eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

    ANEMIA:

High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

    BLOOD PRESSURE:

This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

    BRAIN POWER:

200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

    CONSTIPATION:

High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

    HANGOVERS:

One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

    HEARTBURN:

Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

    MORNING SICKNESS:

Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

    MOSQUITO BITES:

Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

    NERVES:

Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system..

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

    ULCERS:

The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

    TEMPERATURE CONTROL:

Many other cultures see bananas as a ‘cooling’ fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has FOUR TIMES the protein, TWICE the carbohydrate, THREE TIMES the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, ‘A BANANA a day keeps the doctor away!’

PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS…

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe…polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !!!

  • Miracle Cure For Eczema

For any mother’s who are dealing with eczema on your little ones… this has been a life changer for us recently!!

We have been to the dermatologist and prescribed creams. The creams do work but only temporarily and they will bleach the skin if used over and over!!!

So I had spoke with a lady a while back and she explained to me how her daughter had eczema severely when she was younger and all that helped was “oatmeal bombs”.. literally..1 cup of old fashioned oatmeal scooped into a pair of panty hose, tied and repeated until you run out of room.

Wyatts skin has improved so much since I have started this!!

Every night I toss a “bomb” in the bath with him and at the end before getting him out I will rub his little body down from head to toe.. even where there isn’t any eczema. I wish that I would have taken her advice earlier and not waited so long!! Of course we still follow with cerave cream after bath for extra moisture.. but that is it!! We have not used steroid cream in almost a month!! And that my friend is a big deal for us!!

  • How To Fix A Blocked Milk Duct

If you’ve ever experienced a plugged duct, you may be surprised to learn that the tender lump in your breast is NOT the plug. It’s the milk backed up behind the plug. If you have a plugged duct, don’t massage BEHIND the plug.

Instead, massage in FRONT of the lump of milk and towards the nipple, as if trying to clear a pathway. Imagine if there was a traffic jam and you could magically clear the cars away: Would you start pushing forward at the end of the line (and risk causing more of a blockage) or start at the beginning of the line and work your way back?

Begin by kneading close to the nipple, pushing towards it. Then change the starting point so that you knead a little further back, moving closer to the lump of milk but always pushing towards the nipple. Press your other hand on the opposite side of your breast as counter-pressure. Optional: Apply a small amount of edible oil to your hands before massaging to reduce friction.

Massaging in front of the plug is less painful and more effective than using the lump of milk behind it as a battering ram against a long stringy dried plug. Keep working it little by little because it took awhile to get there and it will take awhile to clear.

FUN FACT: Have a milk bleb? A bleb represents an actual blocked duct, similar to the tip of white Elmer’s glue that has solidified with exposure to air.

  • Breast Cancer Isn’t a Silly Pink Ribbon

While the majority of people believe that Breast Cancer is a pink ribbon, a pink Pom Pom, a pen with a pink ribbon, a tote with a pink ribbon, a cancer “volunteer” at your local shop engaging you to be a “part of the cure.

First, a hard reality, you are not being part of the cure, you’re just throwing your money away to propaganda, uniforms for cheerleaders, and kiosk after kiosk with items from handbags to ziplock bags. It’s all a hoax. They are not trying to fight the cure. Most of their funding goes to advertisement, 6 figure CEO salaries. And when I asked for help, I wasn’t given any, DENIED. Denied by the very people who claimed they would help me in their “advertising”. A pink ribbon isn’t the men and women fighting for their lives with metastatic breast cancer. I cannot comprehend how people can not grasp the simple concept that if you cure stage 4 you cure them all. It’s that simple. You will not have to worry about dying because, there’s a cure if you get to that point.

Breast cancer is often very sexualized. Showing models with fake scars, beautiful bodies and breasts with the strap so perfectly dangling from her shoulder. That’s not what Breast cancer is. It’s CTs, surgeries, amputations, biopsies, MRIs, X-rays, radiation, chemo, IVs, blood tests, fear, worry, hate, anger, confusion, sadness, loneliness, medications, check ups, anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain. It’s so much more than a pink snickers bar because it “supports us!

We do not receive free boob jobs. We have reconstruction. Expanders placed to stretch your skin to fit the implants, complications, tram flap surgeries, sometimes our bodies reject the implants, some choose to go flat, some reconstructions are amazing and look fabulous, some look completely deformed. However, in no way did any of us receive a free boob job. We amputated them and had foreign objects placed in our skin to resembles the breasts we once had. We tattoo our nipples on, we get prosthetic ones, or we go with out. We are in pain.

Save the Tatas, save 2nd base, no bra day with a bunch of nipples poking out in no way supports those with Breast Cancer.

This is what a lot of cancer really looks like!

Pink isn’t pretty, it’s not a ribbon and it definitely doesn’t help us!

If you want to help donte to Macmillan the only ones out there who actually help cancer patients

  • Crazy Way To Prevent And Cure Hay Fever

One man thinks he has found the cure for hay fever but it may not be for everyone, he said:

All my life I suffered from hay fever. I pretty much choked to death every summer. Then a few years ago, an old man (crazy old man according to my wife) told me to try nettles.

Basically, as soon as the spring starts, he told me, and the first nettles sprout out, pick a bunch and sting myself with them. Do that once a week until the end of autumn. Apparently this would make my immune system concentrate on nettles and forget about the pollen.

To my wife’s horror and the amusement of the fellow walkers in parks and forests, I soon started the “therapy”. This is my hand in the nettles bush 🙂 And lo and behold it worked…I haven’t had any problems with pollen for 3 years now…

So there you have it. Just wanted to share with you my experience. Just in case someone is interested in use of herbs for medicinal purposes…

And as the law requires, here is the disclaimer: don’t do this at home 🙂

  • One Million Dollars For One Injection

My name is Kristen Sturgeon and I’d like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter about my heartbreaking struggle to save my son’s life.

Kaiden Sturgeon-Harper was born on May 26, 2015. He was a typical baby full of smiles, laughs and love. There were a few medical issues right from the beginning but I was completely unprepared when at four months of age, Kaiden was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Sandhoff Disease.

Sandhoff Disease is a neurodegenerative condition that progressively destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. With Sandhoff, a deficiency of the enzyme beta-hexosaminidase results in fat deposits in the brain and other organs of the body. The end result is blindness, deafness, seizures, paralysis and eventually death. This disease affects 1 in 500,000 children and Kaiden is the only child in Ontario as far as I know. The average life expectancy of those afflicted with this horrific disease is 2-4 years.

In November 2016 we began a drug trial through the University of Minnesota of the drug Zaveska. It isn’t a cure but it’s shown to slow the progression of the disease. I believe it has been crucial to extending Kaiden’s life. We recently received notice that our insurance company will no longer cover the cost of this very expensive medication (approximately $10,000/month).

Dr Jagdeep Walia is a geneticist and he is also Kaiden’s doctor. He has found a potential cure for Sandhoff Disease. It is a virus that is injected one time only intravenously. It may also reverse some of the effects of the disease but that is still unknown as Kaiden will potentially be the first human trial. The problem is that this one time treatment comes at an approximate cost of ONE MILLION DOLLARS. We have had a little media coverage and have been working nonstop to raise money in various ways. At this point we have raised $35,000, a long way from a million dollars. Once the money has been raised it will still take some time to make the virus.

As my son is almost three years old and potentially entering the last quarter of his life, I am humbly asking for any help you can provide. I am looking to raise that one million dollars and I am looking for media and social media exposure. I will never stop fighting for my son, and other children like him. If something else becomes available sooner than Dr. Walia’s potential cure that can save my son, I am willing to donate into that as well. All money raised will be donated into a cure for Sandhoff disease whatever that cure is and I am asking that you join me in this fight.

    With Gratitude,

    Kristen Sturgeon
