  • His Ashes Made It To Florida

    His ashes made it to Florida! So one of the owners of a hotel, Judi was walking on the beach this morning cleaning up the junk that washed into shore and finds a bottle with a message in it.

    There is also some sand and 2 one dollar bills. Once we get it open and read the notes we find out that it is in fact NOT sand. It is the ashes of this woman’s husband of 70 years named Gordon. She writes that He loved to travel so she sent him traveling in a bottle with a note and money for someone to call home and tell her where he landed.

    He started at Big Pine Key in March of 2012 and then went to Islamerada where someone found him. They added a note and sent him traveling again and he landed on our beach in Key Colony. Judi called the wife in Tennessee who was excited to know of Gordon’s travels!

    Judi added her note, we put him in a rum bottle (you know added a little fun to his trip) with the three notes. We added another dollar in case Gordon travels far and a long distance call is needed. We will be having a memorial service or celebration of his life on our beach later today before sending him on his way again.

  • Daddy’s Asleep So From Midnight It’s Just You And I

    “Daddy’s Asleep”

    I love your daddy, I really do,

    After all, without daddy, I wouldn’t have you.

    So from midnight till sunrise, it’s just you and I.

    And as each hour passes, I’m not gonna lie:

    Mommy’s love slowly fades, becomes angry and weak,

    Because no matter what, your dad is f***ing asleep!

    It all starts out lovely. We kiss each other goodnight.

    We look lovingly down at you dear, such a beautiful sight.

    An hour later, mommy wakes with a start.

    You’re twisting and turning, you’re starting to fart.

    Daddy is snoring away, the way he knows best.

    Mommy burps you, and holds you and rocks you with care.

    You spew foul smelling yogurt on mommy’s freshly washed hair.

    As mommy changes her shirt, and mops vomit off the floor.

    Your daddy farts, rolls over and continues to snore.

    Mommy’s maternal alarm goes off, it’s not even three!

    You’re stirring again, you’re hungry and staring at me!

    “I think she is hungry” your daddy offers, pulls duvet over his head,

    Mommy sends him a death stare and rolls out of bed.

    Mommy comes back, tired and drained and what is this I see?

    Your daddy has taken over my side, doesn’t give a f*** about me!

    Mommy kicks him and pushes him angrily away.

    “What’s up love?” He moans in a lovingly way.

    Your daddy has no clue he is under attack.

    He wraps his arms around me and kisses my back.

    And just as my love for daddy is back on the rise,

    You start to coo in your crib and open your eyes.

    And daddy gently nudges me to attend to your need.

    I give him the finger as I prepare for a feed.

    But as the sun starts rising, the slate is wiped clear.

    I’m back to full love for your daddy and for you my dear.

    I forget that daddy sleeps while you cry and you poo.

    It’s back to kissing and hugging and doting on you.

    Soon you’ll grow up and be daddy’s little girl.

    You’ll not remember me cleaning up shit and vomit hurl.

    Whilst you sit on his lap and he sings you a song,

    You’ll love him and think daddy could do nothing wrong.

    But my sweet love, here is a poem for you to keep,

    So you know that all those long nights, dad was f***ing asleep!

  • YES I Will Judge Your Parenting

    Yes I will judge your parenting and no i am not by any means a perfect parent everyone makes mistakes, I wont judge you if you look a mess, your hairs not brushed or your child is crying or having a temper tantrum these are all normal parts of parenting.

    I however will judge you if i see you giving your baby coca cola in a bottle, adding rice or cereal into their bottle to help them sleep more, come on choking risk or an extra hour in bed, I know which one I would prefer.

    You wearing name brand clothes, warm winter coats,gloves, scarf and a pair of uggs whilst your child is sat in a dirty pram with no socks or shoes on, dirty stained top and no coat, heck yes I will judge away, ill stand up and say something.

    Putting your seat belt on in the car for your own safety whilst your tiny baby is forward facing or sat on someones lap, I will educate you on safe car seat laws.

    If you go on holiday abroad 2 or 3 times a year with your friends or partner whilst your kids are lucky to get a weekend in a caravan I will judge you and ignore your lame excuses.

    If you refuse vaccinations for your child you my dear are a moron, vaccinations were made to protect children and adults from deadly diseases, someone please explain to me why the government would make something (for free in the UK) to harm children.

    Judging other parents is totally and utterly acceptable if the parents are idiots, don’t wean your baby at 3 months, don’t risk their lives, dont put them in harm’s way and dont put yourself before them,  I would hope someone would have the courage to tell me if I am doing something that places my child at risk.

  • Bottle Fed babies are 100% More Likely To…

    Since I have now been a parent for 11 years now I think I am highly qualified to dish out some unsolicited advice across the internet, you can thank me later. A few cheeky things I have learnt since I became a mum especially a mum to 3:

    If you bottle-feed your precious baby then they are statistically 100% more likely rob a grandmother when they get older.

    If you breastfeed your baby then your child will still be breastfeeding on their wedding day. Oh and also could you put them away please, you are totally turning us all on.

    If you use a dummy your child will never speak and when they do it’ll only be to say ‘give me a dummy now’. When they’re 18.

    If you don’t use a dummy your baby is in grave danger. Just generally. Particularly of falling coconuts.

    If you leave your baby to cry, even just for a second (especially to read this blog) then your baby will be irreparably damaged and more than likely hate you forever.

    If you never let your baby cry then you are totally spoiling them and they will more than likely appear on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteenth demanding a unicorn.

    If your child watches more than 10 minutes of television before the age of 3 they will morph into a Mr Tumble/Peppa Pig/Piers Morgan hybrid and never stop singing jingles.

    If your child has no screen time before the age of 3 then they have 47% less chance of becoming the next internet sensation and then who do you think will pay will your mortgage?

    If you child has not eaten an avocado by the age of 2 then they will be unable to answer complex equations when being inexplicably quizzed by a stranger at a bus stop.

    If you only feed your children healthy foods then they will have zero self-restraint and will always be the one getting shit faced on party food E numbers and tequila slammers at every single 3rd birthday party.

    So there we go, a couple of things since I have learnt since becoming a mum, you are so very welcome.

    On a serious note (if you’ve got this far) the only real thing I’ve learnt as a mum is you can find any article/statistic/Facebook post/interfering neighbour to back up what you want to do for your baby and 100 more to tell you you’re wrong. As long as you’re loving your baby and listening to yourself you’re doing a great job. And if no one has told you that today – you ARE doing a great job.

  • McDonalds Why Don’t You Cater For Babies

    Terri Taylor wants to know why McDonalds don’t cater for babies.

    Taylor said: “Mcdonalds I have a question for you!

    You refused to serve me water to heat milk for my 8 week old baby because of health and safety. Yet…. I could pay for a tealess tea and be given the boiling water!

    So I can be charged £1.19 for a tea with out a tea bag or milk and walk around you’re store with boiling water.

    Yet if I ask for water to heat my babies bottle my only option is to let your staff unhygienically prep my tiny 8 week old babies bottle. I can’t have the water to check it my self and prep it my self for health and safety reasons. Yet you’ll allow me to do exactly as I intended with the water once I’ve paid for a tea that you didn’t supply a tea bag for nor milk….

    Is this to avoid Mums feeding in your stores?

    Is this to rinse the already poor?

    Is this quite simply because you can?

    Because other stores have provided me with the water in a cup with a lid!

    I’m furious that you were willing to leave me unable to feed my daughter… family restaurant is what your advertised as.

    Share the hell out of this.

    I hope your ashamed McDonald’s.

    It’s not hygienic for your staff to prep my child’s bottle.

    It’s a small amount of hot. Not boiling hot water.

    I felt embarrassed as I begged for water. Only to then rethink and head back to the till and question my theory. Which proved to be right. You would give me water if I paid for a tea where I wasn’t provided with the tea bag or milk I’d paid for. Just hot water. Which then allowed me to feed my child.

    Fuming!”.

  • Dads Warning About New Style Fruitshoot

    A man Known as Spike has taken to social media to warn others about Robinson’s fruit shoots’

    “Warning to all parents.

    My son has always been a fan of Robinson’s fruitshoots.

    Recently they have rebranded changing from the classic purple bottle with blue lid to the new purple with green lid.

    Since the old one is no longer available we obviously purchased the new one for my son.

    Ever since then my son has been getting sent bouts of nausea and being sick. It’s also put him off his food as a result of this.

    Please be careful. They have changed some of their ingredients and the following apply:

    What can too much niacin do to you?

    Reactions range from flushing, itching, nervousness and headaches to intestinal cramps, nausea, and diarrhea.     Many others commented on the post and said that their children have also had a bad reaction to the seemingly harmless child friendly drink, however others stated that any person or child can have reactions to anything and that some people are just extra sensitive and it won’t happen to everyone just a small miniority.
